The food exceeded expectations, and the view from the dining hall is amazing. The rooms are cozy with a view of animals walking in the ravine right when you step out your door... plus everyone is Extremely friendly and accommodating. The common areas are very comfortable to accommodate large groups or sit out and view more animals- but you'll see...

As two 30 something corporate females from Australia, we enjoyed our 3 day stay at Ilkeliani a lot but unfortunately we had just previously had two amazing experiences in Samburu and Lewa so the bar was set high and the Mara fell a little short in some aspects. The national park was not respected, with farmers accessing it and rubbish...

We stayed at Ilkeliani for 2 nights during our trip to Masai Mara and they were the best 2 nights of our entire Kenyan trip! Their attention to details is amazing! Right from offering a cold towel on arrival to beat the heat to putting a hot water pack in the bed in evening for your sore muscles... they take...

We stayed here for three nights prior to a cruise from Mombasa to Cape Town. Although we'd been on safari in South Africa three years ago, we wanted to experience East Africa. The camp did not disappoint! It is well located just outside the park. The "tents" are very comfortable and the food was plentiful and quite tasty. Drinks were...

Please, be patient with me but on the way to Ilkeliani Camp we saw so much that we want to share it with you. At 7:00 it is 18C and we observe a pair of graceful dik dik near our tent. At 9:30 it is already 26.3C and we are lucky enough to watch a cheetah with two quite big...

Upon arrival we were greeted immediately with towels and drink. Check in was very efficient and we were given an overview of our accommodations, meals, WiFi, safety etc. Dining room was in a tent and the service was very good.

This was our first visit to Ilkeliani however we had previously been to Entim.....hence the bar had already been set high. Needless to say we weren't disappointed. The ambiance and location was breath taking. The level of professionalism and attention to detail and decor was well worth the money spent. Special mention goes to the Manager Charles and his team...

This was my 3rd visit to this Camp, and I am a regular traveller to the other lodges at various ends of the price spectrum. This place has it all. The service is attentive and personal yet unobtrusive. The food is outstanding, The decor blends well with the environs. All in all, this is one of my favourite places to...

This is a wonderful camp just outside the Mara. Everything was top notch, from the fresh juice welcome to the food to the turndown service (with hot water bottles) to the Masai guards who escort guests to/from their tents after dark. It is priced like a mid-range lodge, but it really is significantly more luxurious that other camps I stayed...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Nestled in a riverine forest in the Masai Mara Game Reserve, the area is a favourite for elephants coming to drink from the Talek River. Ilkeliani camp consists of only 17 tents, each commanding views of the plains and the wildlife action throughout the day. The tented rooms are raised up slightly on earth mounds, overlooking the river and the plains. These mounds are covered in vegetation, and feel quite natural, and each one has been sited under its own cluster of shady indigenous trees and you do feel like you are out in the wilderness. The camp now has a suspension bridge for easy access to the reserve for early game drives ... more   less
