We stayed for two nights at this fabulous camp with our friends who live in Nairobi. The organisation is carefully managed to make you feel welcome and safe. We were the only guests staying at the time, so we were fortunate to have maximum attention from all the staff including the night staff who patrol near to the tents, the...

My husband, sister, and two children traveled to Ilkeliani for two nights and three days in late November (the US Thanksgiving Holiday week). It was absolutely fabulous. The camp is situated right outside of the national park. We arrived and had a bit of delay getting into the camp so we were sitting in the safari truck in the hot...

The Ilkeliani camp is located beside the Talek river in front of the Masai Mara. It provides luxury tents accommodation which include a very comfortable bed, bathroom and hot water shower the whole day. The tents are big and all of them face the river having an incredible view. Outside the tent there are some sits and a table to...

Booked with a special package which made the value for money a good average balance. Paying the full rate would be far too much for the average standard of the camp. The description from the camp does not clearly say that it is located outside the park. The access road from the Park Gate to the camp is not very...

The stay in the camp is in tents. They are very comfortable and have many convenient aspects. The food is of excellent quality, staff is very friendly and ready to fulfill any demand. Dinner is served in a tent, sitting next a brook. The location is in the middle of the vast plains of the Masai Mara. Right now you...

I couldn't imagine a better place. Ilkeliani camp is the most wonderful place to enjoy a safari in MasaÏ Mara. Cleanliness, organization, food, service, spot,… everything is just amazing. The hot bottle in your bed for the night is a wonderful idea.

The food exceeded expectations, and the view from the dining hall is amazing. The rooms are cozy with a view of animals walking in the ravine right when you step out your door... plus everyone is Extremely friendly and accommodating. The common areas are very comfortable to accommodate large groups or sit out and view more animals- but you'll see...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Nestled in a riverine forest in the Masai Mara Game Reserve, the area is a favourite for elephants coming to drink from the Talek River. Ilkeliani camp consists of only 17 tents, each commanding views of the plains and the wildlife action throughout the day. The tented rooms are raised up slightly on earth mounds, overlooking the river and the plains. These mounds are covered in vegetation, and feel quite natural, and each one has been sited under its own cluster of shady indigenous trees and you do feel like you are out in the wilderness. The camp now has a suspension bridge for easy access to the reserve for early game drives ... more   less
