We’ve done loads of safaris over the last 30 years and this camp is one of the best. Clean, comfortable, fabulous views from the chalet tents on the escarpment with swifts and sunbirds flitting round the verandah, zebra and dik-dik in the garden. Wonderful staff, simple but excellent food. Peaceful and restful. We preferred it to Angama next door, which was super luxe but too gussied up for our taste.

Mara west treated us like we were family and not like guest. The chefs were that absolute best the food was some of the most amazing I've ever had. The other staff were the kindest and most heartwarming people ever. John are guide was excellent beyond words. I highly recommend Mara west to any and everyone that I come in contact with. The best time I've probably ever had in my life.

Absolutely the most amazing thing I have ever done. I completely recommend it to everyone who wants to take a trek in Africa. Never in my life would I say no to going again. Shoutout to Grace, who was a fantastic housekeeper and made us feel right at home. Thank You, Mara West!

Everything was excellent. I would recommend Mara West to anyone. I stayed in a chalet and the views were wonderful! The service during the stay is amazing. The staff are personable and thoughtful. I had several dietary needs and they were able to coordinate all meals accordingly. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. The game drives were all worth while and James and Peter were really knowledgeable and made sure I saw as much as possible. Book with Mara West and you will not be disappointed!

West Mara Camp is was really wonderful. The view is incredible, it will certainly remind you of “Out of Africa”. We were inn Chalet #8 and the view was spectacular. The staff was great and food was very good. Giraffes and Impala greeted us as we drove in. The Mara Triangle has wonderful animals to see. We saw lions, leopards, hippos, hyenas, giraffes, impalas, gazelles, buffaloes, elephants and more. It was not as crowded as The Mara Game Reserve. We loved our visit to West Mara.

Our family of 8 spent 3 nights in the "bandas" of Mara West in late August, 2022. This was an excellent budget option for our family. For those who don't know, a banda is a big sturdy tent situated on a wood deck or concrete slab and covered with a thatch roof to shade the tent. There are real beds with fresh linens and an electric bulb in each tent. Its a 50-100 meter walk to the toilets and showers. Wi Fi only in certain areas. Two of us had been to Mara West in 2013. Since then there is more hot water and electricity 24/7. A kosher safari requires a great deal of coordination with the kitchen staff. Chef Robert and the head waiter were gems. We ate very well. Everything was clean. We missed the great migration but had a fine time anyway down in the triangle. We were there during the dark of the moon and the stars visible from the camp at night were just amazing. We would happily stay there again.

Mara west was my first visit to Africa and it did not disappoint Our chalet was very comfortable and had a fabulous view. The grounds are lovely. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and made us feel at home The food was excellent They even made us samosas when our guide told them we liked them. We had lunch outside in the dining shelter shortly after we arrived and a bunch of zebras joined us I had a walking tour of the grounds with the masai warrior who was our night watchman and escort. He was very entertaining and obviously proud of his land. Then there was our safaris and our wonderful guide Ben. I never dreamed we could see so many animals in the first two days including the black rhino and leopards and cheetahs and elephants and hipos and hundreds of wildebeest and zebras. One of the best experiences of my life

Mara West is by far one of the greatest hidden treasures in the Mara Triangle. My wife and I had the opportunity to stay there in August and we loved it. Our guide, John, was fantastic!!! He really went above and beyond to make sure our stay was memorable. He found us all of our top wants and really educated us on the people of Kenya and it's wildlife. At the lodge, Abel, was amazing!!! He kept us well fed and was so kind with everything he did. He made us feel at home and truly made us want to stay even longer. I would highly recommend anyone and everyone stay at this lodge.

We wish we could give the Mara West Camp more than 5 stars. They are truly one of the best. Their accommodations, staff, services, food were of the highest quality. We predominately stay at Four Seasons properties all over the world including the US and the Mara West Camp was on par if not better than almost all of them. Please note that we really appreciate the simplicity of the Mara from seeing animals roaming in the camp to little to no connectivity in our rooms. But the rooms were very clean, plumbing worked well (the showers were amazing) and the accommodations were very very comfortable. The staff was thoughtful, friendly, professional, and kind. Our safari guide, John, is Maasai and so his knowledge and experience were unparalleled, but even beyond that he was truly kind and thoughtful. My boys miss him very much. The food was simple, but elegant and delicious. Our children never stopped eating. After my first massage, I was so addicted that I had one every day after that. I have had massages from some of the best spas in the world but again the therapist at the Mara West is one of the best! I know I'm forgetting something, but whatever it is, it was incredible! We cannot thank them enough for all of their hospitality and thoughtfulness! We wish we could go back every year!

I have visited Mara West Camp with groups of students from Pacific Union College on four occasions during 2018-2022, staying for about a week each time. The location is fabulous with spectacular views of the Maasai Mara National Reserve. The staff have always been very friendly. I usually stayed in the more economic tents and they were always comfortable. I appreciated getting hot water showers and every meal was tasty. As a biology professor I enjoyed prowling the nearby area in search of amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals. A variety of large mammals are easy to see there, including zebras, giraffes, impalas. I look forward to returning!
