This was our first accommodation on our 10 day safari trip. We were greeted by the manager and big smiles. The staff was very nice and accommodating. We stayed in a chalet that was so spacious and comfortable. The nights were a bit cold, but Grace snuck in a hot water bottle in our beds which kept us nice and... More

We stayed in the best tent room in the place for 5 days and where treated like royalty! We are both Gluten free and the Chef did just miracles with the best food ever! All of the staff are so wonderful and go out of their way to make your time here the best. We saw 19 Giraffes one day... More

Mara west staff was excellent. The chief offered to make me a different dinner when I told him I didn't like lamb. The owner was friendly and informative. The staff was exceptional and the camp was safe. There are a lot of zebra, giraffe, wilder beast, buffoons and sometimes elephant in or near the camp. Staff walk you to the room... More

My husband and I had such a wonderful experience at Mara West. We stayed in one of the luxtury glamp tents for 3 nights and loved it. No need to be afraid as the Maasi security will walk you at night to your room. We had a spectacular view of the entire park and saw all the animals from right... More

My boyfriend and I spent 2 nights and 3 days at Mara West and it was not nearly long enough! We wish we would have booked a longer stay. We stayed in a bungalow and it was lovely. The zebras walk right up to the bungalows. The staff is incredibly accommodating and the food was great- the soup! Our guide was... More

Spent 4 nights and 5 days for our 25th wedding anniversary! We travel all over the world and Mara West is on our "best so far" list! Not your typical commercial corporate run hotel/resort. If you are visiting the Mara to experience scenery and animal viewing then this is for you. Quiet evenings, except for the sounds of animals (elephants... More

Mara West Camp is the real deal! If you are looking to be spoiled, to enjoy a cultural experience like non other, delicious food, superb service, knowledgeable and friendly guides (if you love birds get Johnny as a driver), very comfortable accommodations (honeymoon suite!) and got to see so many animals every day we went on safari (elephants, zebras, giraffes,... This is a wonderful place in the Mara. If you come as a volunteer, you get the special immersion and cultural experience helping the Masai community ( medical or schools ) or working alongside them ( construction). If you come just for vacation, they still provide unique opportunities to learn about the Masai tribe and give an opportunity to participate... More

The first night we had geckos in the room and rodent droppings in the bathroom and asked to be moved but were told no rooms were available - odd when it wasn't high season and we saw people checking out. The second night we had a mouse in the room, more droppings in the bathroom and were finally moved to... More

This was my first stop on safari for 10 days. I was here for 2 nights. Staff greeted just like in the movies, after a long drive. They were great. Tents and accommodations were a pleasant surprise. There were 2 queen size beds more room than most hotels, HOT and COLD running water. Food was fantastic, even the box lunches.... More
