Spent 4 nights and 5 days for our 25th wedding anniversary! We travel all over the world and Mara West is on our "best so far" list! Not your typical commercial corporate run hotel/resort. If you are visiting the Mara to experience scenery and animal viewing then this is for you. Quiet evenings, except for the sounds of animals (elephants... More

Mara West Camp is the real deal! If you are looking to be spoiled, to enjoy a cultural experience like non other, delicious food, superb service, knowledgeable and friendly guides (if you love birds get Johnny as a driver), very comfortable accommodations (honeymoon suite!) and got to see so many animals every day we went on safari (elephants, zebras, giraffes,... This is a wonderful place in the Mara. If you come as a volunteer, you get the special immersion and cultural experience helping the Masai community ( medical or schools ) or working alongside them ( construction). If you come just for vacation, they still provide unique opportunities to learn about the Masai tribe and give an opportunity to participate... More

The first night we had geckos in the room and rodent droppings in the bathroom and asked to be moved but were told no rooms were available - odd when it wasn't high season and we saw people checking out. The second night we had a mouse in the room, more droppings in the bathroom and were finally moved to... More

This was my first stop on safari for 10 days. I was here for 2 nights. Staff greeted just like in the movies, after a long drive. They were great. Tents and accommodations were a pleasant surprise. There were 2 queen size beds more room than most hotels, HOT and COLD running water. Food was fantastic, even the box lunches.... More

This is a lovely camp. This was my second stay. The tented rooms are spacious, comfortable and attractive. Especially like the etched glass in the doors. Great views also. Staff is excellent and will help in any way. Christine, Grace, John, Wilson et al. will go out of their way for you. Food is plentiful and delicious. Chef James and... More

I absolutely loved my time I spent at the camp. I stayed in the bandas (budget). They were spacious and comfortable. It was amazing to see giraffe and zebra outside your tent. I cannot say enough great things about the staff!! The tent was always clean, the food delicious with lots of choices and the drinks cold!! I had a... More

Was here for the Great Migration August 2014. The Mara reserve is just 10 mins away. They have good accommodation, all of them are tents, but not to worry as they are well equipped with modern facilities. The bedding is so cosy you almost go off to sleep the minute you slide in. The restaurant is a 2 min walk... More
