We stayed 5 nights for a relaxing holiday and everything was wonderful. The hotel was fully booked, but service was nevertheless very attentive. It is all very charming, it looks like someones holiday home, not an hotel, really. And they serve the best food I have eaten in Kenya. Hope I can go back soon!

This Hotel, although situated directly at the beautiful beach of Shela, is the center of Shela and the meeting place of everybody, hotel guests, tourists and people living in Lamu. Great place for drinks during sunset, great place to start a sailing tour with the Dhow , amazing dinners, very good and friendly service, romantic special pool surounded by huge... More

What a wonderful welcome, we were offered a drink and chose their specialty cocktail an "Old Pal". This set the scene for an amazing few days. Carol and Andrew made us feel very welcome, they are great hosts. Cerin in a very relaxed way (goes with the beach holiday theme) explained everything on offer from excursions to activities. We had... More

The world may change, but Peponi are standing, fathfull to its vission and what they belive in. I find the restaurant better than ever, The atmosphere the terrasse even warmer, the gossip even more fun, and the who and where even more amusing. In a world full of questions and stress, Peponi must be the most peacefull and as Close... More

Another blissful 2 night stay in early March. Peponi is rapidly becoming my favourite de-stress location in East Africa. And judging by the fact that the Lamu Yoga Festival had just finished, I'm not the only one! Spending 3 days here immediately after arriving in Kenya from London proved the perfect tonic to set us up for the rest of... More

First time in Sheila with the family and what a fantastic experience at Peponi. The hotel rooms were spacious and very nicely decorated + we got upgraded with the 3 kids. There s a corner for everyone within peponi (lovely swimming pool area, immediate access to the beach, windsurfing), the service is impeccable and there is always a special attention... More

From the moment we set foot on the boat trip to the hotel via the airport harbour, we knew it was going to be a very special holiday. The rooms are beachy and rustic, in a good way, and the view is incredible. The quaint and charming little town of Shela contains a few shops and the locals are friendly... More

I have been going to the Peponi for the last 20 years - and with a break over the last six years, due to other family destinations I found myself returning and felt immediately at home. I have been there on numerous times with my husband. I have also taken the children there - when they were younger - after... More

I have been at Peponi some years ago so this may be not the most updated review. Nevertheless it is located in one of the finest positions I have ever seen, the restaurant is awesome as are the aperitif with unforgettable oysters. For the rest an hotel mainly for expats, quite interesting social life there. I hope that it has... More

We were living next door in Forodhani House and had a couple of meals here in Peponi. The food was excellent and they have their signature cocktail that's unique to the property. Also, ask for the turtle sanctuary, best experience in life.
