JamboHouse Lamu is a small budget guesthouse in Lamu Town. We have 5 double rooms, all with private bathroom. Three rooms are self-contained and two rooms have external bathroom (not shared, only for that room). All our rooms have mosquito net, ceiling fan and tower fan or stand fan, bedside lamp. JamboHouse Lamu is ideally located to explore Lamu Old Town. It’s just a three minute walk through narrow lanes to Town Square with Lamu Fort. From our Top Roof you have a good view of Lamu Town, the inland part and sunrise. We are not a 5 star resort but we offer clean rooms with fair rates. All our rates include breakfast, free wifi internet, free coffee/tea. We give our guests a map of Lamu and plenty of useful information (museums, restaurants, suggestions how to spend your time in Lamu). We can organize a lot of activities like boat trips, walking tours (with or without guide), massages, henna painting, Swahili Cooking classes and more. We wait for our guests at Manda Airport or at the jetty in Lamu.

I loved staying at JamboHouse! Truly a guesthouse for travellers by a traveller. The breakfast was a highlight of my time there! Arnold is a wealth of knowledge of Lamu and the area! Rooms and bathrooms are cleaned daily. Totally recommend the walking tour and the sunset hike offered by the guesthouse! This is really the best place to stay in Lamu! Thank you for everything Arnold!!

I have so much to say about this place, it’s wonderful. The location is perfect and close proximity to the landmarks in Lamu Town with a very captivating walk to the building. It’s safe and secure and very relaxing. Arnold really knows how to run a business with a huge focus on the guests, from the lighting, fans and great water pressure in the bathrooms to the incredible breakfast on the rooftop with the cool breeze wafting through. The standards here are VERY high and it’s VERY reasonably priced.

Response from JamboHouse, Owner at JamboHouse
Responded Sep 2, 2019
Thank you for staying @ JamboHouse Lamu and taking your time to review our place. Just to correct/adding some information. Wifi works in three of our five guest rooms. On our terrace which is also a nice place to relax it works best. Regarding showers, in this price range you won't find any place in Lamu which has hot water. Water is not really cold as our tanks are on top of the house (except in June/July after a rainy day). All our rooms have ceiling fans and, additionally, our three rooms on the upper floor have tower fans. Since 6 months I'm waiting to get two more for the remaining two rooms on the ground floor (they are out of stock but the shop owner promised me he will get them again). Enjoy your remaining trip & welcome back, ARNOLD

Only good things to say about this place. Arnold, the owner, is very present and make sure he does most of it himself. He looks after us in a very caring and personal way.
