Furthest date I could choose for this review on Trip Advisor was Sep 2012 but was actually backpacking around Africa with my girlfriend in 2011, just never got round to reviewing some places ;-) But I really wanted to add a few words about this wonderful guesthouse. The owners are very friendly & helpful & we thought the location was...

The facility itself was decent and met my expectations for what a place in this price range should offer. The location is the bummer. I was there during low season and could barely leave the place without being approached by a lot of guides, vendors, etc., some who would hang out by the guest house until I came out again....

The situation: Girlfriend and I are first time visiting Lamu for 5 relaxing days. We needed a quiet place to stay that was affordable and next to the ocean. What we got: Hotel Kipepeo is located right on the ocean front on the north end of Lamu. It can be spotted from the boat ride up. From the beginning we...

i spent two nights at kipepeo, and had a marvelous stay. Was picked up from the airport even though i called to make a booking the same morning. My room was on the second floor, with a balcony overlooking the ocean - and it was really peaceful sitting out there, reading a book, or watching the kids playing in the...

Enjoyed a truly memorable time here - I needed a place to stop and relax during the middle of my 10 week holiday and six nights at the Kipepeo Guest House well and truly delivered what was required. We were given the "Samaki" (the Swahili word for fish) room on the top level, which was a perfect place to relax...

A nice guest house in an excellent location, we booked the bottom floor room which included a well equipped kitchen, great for making breakfast and snacks. Despite a mix up with our arrival date the service was good and the owners introduced us to a reliable contact who arranged a dhow trip for us which was excellent.

Kipepeo is run by a couple, Dagmar and Ali, who describe themselves as 'hosts and friends' which is completely correct and makes a stay very pleasant. Our room was a good standard for the price, with a comfortable well netted bed, good ensuite, and a superb (shared by two rooms) balcony overlooking the coast road with its peoples and donkeys,...

My boyfriend and our friend stayed at Kipepeo at the beginning of April 2010. Initially we had our travel agent book us the bottom floor apartment. We had two issues with the bottom floor, 1) No cross ventilation. It was extremely hot even with the fans. 2) The bunk beds were more of a child size than an adult size....

Dagmar truly was the "charming german woman" as written in rough guide, and instantly welcomed us at the beginning of our 4 day trip to Lamu! Always available and willing to answer questions and make recommendations on restaurants and other activities, she was the perfect host for first time visitors. The decor was charming and the sea front view from...

We stayed at Kipepeo guest house for five days and found the owners Dagmar and Ali to be the most helpful and hospitable hosts. The guest house is towards the end of the beach with fantastic views across the bay and it can be easily seen from across the bay. Ask for the rooms on the middle floor as they...
