The best hotel to be within Nairobi. The customer service offered from the reception and other areas in the hotel is just warm and welcoming, unlike most hotels I have been to in the CBD. The rooms are so neat and clean. Sumptuous African dishes are served without delay. Within the hotel premises, it's very conducive and cool music that brings in the right mood. Ample parking space. It's the best hotel to be while in Nairobi. This is just but to mention a few. Really looking forward to coming to this great hotel.

I checked in for one day. The receptionist services were fast and the one incharge was friendly. The room was very clean and organised. The place is comfortable, the location of the hotel is also convienient in terms of ease of access. The staff generally are organized, proffesional and welcoming.
The breakfast was great.
A suggestion.
For the Wi-Fi would you consider having the password pinned somewhere in the rooms? sometimes one checks in very late they need to do some urgent work online.

Arrival & welcome
I had no booking, just walked in at midnight straight from the airport.
Martin was courteous and polite. Very charming indeed
He insisted I get served with a welcome drink. He was hesitant to allow me to view a room before I pay for the stay but eventually agreed.
Organised for porter service to assist with my luggage
and also provided a wifi password.
Room experience
The ambience was lovely and there set up style was nice with great colour contrast and match. Very appealing first impression.
I asked for extra duvet which was provided
Great ammenities tea/coffee kettle, complimentary drinking water
Great bathroom branded amenities
Socketd by the bedside were working very well
Lighting was quite dim - for readers a brighter overhead light is required
I had no hot water- it was like warm so did not enjoy my shower
Main door lock was not lockable and my security was of great concern
My bed sheet had a hole in it
Floor had debris and visible Mark's and cracks
Bathroom tiles need grouting and the room has a large visible crack on bathroom wall
Lots of mosquitoes all night though net provided was filthy no spray or mosichip offered in the room
Bed comfort was wanting, sheets were itchy and I was tossing and turning all night
Noisy roads and activity from 4 am in the morning
Dining experience
Beautiful piped music as you have your meal
Assisted service not provided. Guests were allowed to serve themselves without masks
Mini buffet spread fruits and cereals, sausages, baked beans, potatoes, pancakes, scrambled eggs in chafing dishes
Separate station for tea/ coffee /bread/ cake
Staff in masks and very polite and pleasant
3 juices available - no tags
Recommendations
Covid protocols need to be observed
Temperature checks to be done and enhanced sanitization needed right from reception
Staff training and supervision to be enhanced
Adopt guest rooming to settle all guests well
Give commission as incentives for drivers who recommend guests and pay your full rack rates
Invest in key card pockets
General room hygiene needs improvement
Overall great place and could recommend. Just work on the recommendations highlighted.
Look into enhancing safety and security measures. Foe example have a door latch inside the room

Thank you for sharing a review and rating on your recent experience at Hotel Rio. I would like to take this opportunity to apologize that your experience at Hotel Rio Nairobi did not meet or exceed your expectations. I will personally review your feedback with my colleagues at the front office, restaurant & housekeeping. About our door locks, they are built in such a way that the occupant can open the door freely from inside the room but an outsider cannot open from the outside. Additionally, we have door latches, hence security is guaranteed. As far as am concerned, Covid-19 protocols have been implemented in all areas of the facility, including sanitization, social distancing and temperature checks. Our staff have also been vaccinated against covid-19. Nevertheless, I would like to apologize for any inconvenience caused as a result of this particular instances. My team and I sincerely hope that this will not deter you from staying with us once again in the coming days, and we look forward to future visits.

I got a reasonably good deal through an online booking site, which took the sting out of the tail for me, but if you paid the full price advertised by Hotel Rio, it would not be good value for money.
Despite trying hard by putting toiletries in the bathroom, and including niceties like slippers and in-room tea and coffee, they haven't quite nailed it.
The rooms are small, the shower only just okay, and the bathroom cleanliness was average. Everything looks a bit tired and worn out. But the worst thing for me was the noise! Hotel Rio is located in a very noisy neighbourhood. The room I was initially given was so bad, I asked to be moved. I don't think I've ever stayed anywhere where the street noise, especially bars/nightclubs was so loud! The second room was better, but I could still hear loud music coming from outside, so I had trouble sleeping until it eventually stopped.
Despite the noise, the bed was comfortable and the staff were helpful.

The rooms were very comfortable and very good staff.
Hotel Rio is close to Wilson airport which is where I was flying from, also Yaya Center for those who prefer small shopping malls. The food is great too especially if you want a bit of local cuisine.

Loved the experience, the convenience especially in accessing facilities such as malls, banks and the great staff.
I was really impressed by the great customer care offered by the hotel. Hotel Rio is the most convenient hotel for a business person operating in Nairobi and needing a place off town.
The breakfast was amazing.
