The food was excellent (if a bit on the high side). We enjoyed sitting in the cool shade of the garden on a warm day for an excellent luncheon. The fried shrimp were an excellent and very tasty choice. We also enjoyed seeing the historic Ewart Grogan house which is located just off the garden.

We stayed at the Karen Coffee gardens for several weeks. The hotel has its strong sides like food and senic settings and some of the staff that are very nice. Especially the gardeners, cleaners and the guards are good and some of the food/beverages staff. Dinner and lunch is better than average in Nairobi and should be commended (if they... More

Beautiful Garden but poorly run. The gym has 6 equipment and 2 were not working. The staff are NOT friendly. The salon is a joke. The pool area charges you full price of 1000,- KES even after half day! Best for a coffee or drink and not more!

This is my second stay here. Once again a very comfortable and noticed some improvements, one much needed was the safe in the cottages, thank you. As before couldn’t fault the staff, restaurant and pool side area, even managed to get in the pool since solar panels have boosted the warmth of it. Will return.

This was our third visit to the Karen Blixen. It is a lovely quiet get away, a garden oasis in the city. The cottages are older but very comfortable and well appointed. We now know several of the staff and they always welcome us back with typical Kenyan warmth. The food at the restaurant and bar is great - the... More

We spent two nights prior to our Safari here. And returned for the night of our departure. Clean, spacious rooms. Large bathrooms, twin sinks and lots of hot water! Staff is most helpful. The Gardens are beautiful. Swimming pool and Spa. Internet. Outdoor bar with umbrella tables. An excellant restaurant. Omlettes made for you at breakfast.

Karen Blixen cottages is about 30 minutes from the airport and out of the CBD. the property is located in one of the nicest residential areas of Nairobi and features self-contained well appointed cottages in a peaceful garden setting. WiFi is available throughout the property, great massage, good sports bar and restaurant.

The cottages are wonderful with beamed ceilings, white walls, lovely furnishings, a fireplace, large windows and over-sized bathrooms. The grounds are filled with flowers, birds, lovely trees and pathways. The pool is nice but the water was cold and had debris from the trees floating in it. The restaurant serves delicious meals and the gift shop is fairly priced with... More

A very colonial feel, almost overwhelming at times. Friendly attentive service and a remarkable location with a fascinating history. Has an almost disturbing colonial feel. Worth the trip and the area has many attractions.
