It is rare that the #1 ranked hotel in a major city is also the most reasonably priced, but that is the case with the Fairview. As former residents of the city who were returning for a 3 week stay we headed straight to the Fairview. Quite simply, it is the best Nairobi has to offer. Beautiful grounds, attentive staff,... My wife and I used the Fairview several times (4 nights) over 3 trips in and out of Nairobi. Although it is directly across the street from the Israeli Embassy (with heavy security) it provides a great location and world class hotel services. Their bar/sushi bar/light meal spot is half under cover and half in their fountain and stream garden.....very... More

For a first time visitor to Nairobi the drive is an experience like no other. The traffic is intense and chaotic. The Hotel Driver Simon was wonderful and made you feel safe! The bumpy streets and security made you wonder just what you had come to but when you arrive at the Gates of The Fairview, you are met with... More

My family(6 people total...three first class rooms) chose the Fairview to begin and end our safari from reviews on Tripadvisor. Our inbound visit to this tranquil local was without problem and our rooms were as promised..a lovely safe quiet spot in a dangerous and chaotic city. But on our return from an exciting but exhausting adventure with two children in tow,we find... Thank you for your feedback. Your disappointment with room allocation on the afternoon of your return visit is understandable. We do apologize that your third room had to wait due to a delayed check-out beyond our control. In addition to the complimentary dinner to make up for the disappointment, we are offering to refund you the night's charge for the... More

This hotel is beautiful and its website does not do it justice. The room we had was spacious and very comfortable. Bed was delicious and showers were hot which after coming off a Safari were a welcome pleasure:) Due to an emergency we needed to stay an extra day, having 3 rooms this was quite difficult and although they were... I really like this hotel. It is all the good things other reviewers have said but for me I just feel comfortable here. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Close to the centre of Nairobi is a hotel than manages, miraculously, to maintain an atmosphere of peace and tranquility. Admittedly the journey to the hotel, particularly if coming from the airport during the rush hours can be less than pleasant but once through the gates of the hotel, chaos ends. Professional and friendly staff will do all they can... More

For a solo businesswoman, the security was terrific, including the hotel approved taxis that charged the given rate, knew their way everywhere I needed to go, and always showed up at the appointed time. 5 restaurants, with enough variety that I never had to eat the same thing twice. Enormous, spotless bathroom, with plenty of hot water. Comfy bed with... More

This was our 8th time to stay at the Fairview in recent years and the hotel continues to get better and better. They are continually making improvements, while at the same time keeping the "old" Africa ambience. The grounds are magnificent, great staff, and fantastic breakfast! We have no intention of staying elsewhere when in Nairobi.

My wife and I stayed in a first class room at the Fairview this past April,2011 after a week-long safari. It's a perfect way to end such a trip--cradled in an Edonic spot near the heart of Nairobi. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the restaurants (four of them) are outstanding with creative cuisine served in lush tropical settings, and... More
