Beautiful hotel encased by a wall to block out the questionable neighborhood where it was not safe to walk, darn! Very good service, upscale hotel sleeping rooms, excellent service for dinner on the pool patio next to the beautiful pool. About 25 minutes from the airport, gorgeous decor and lounge. It seems like it would be a good location to visit just a couple of other places in the city but we were transiting to a safari so rested here easily. I'd stay here again.

We had 10 nights in Serena Downtown Nairobi. The staff was exceptionally kind and helpful. Our stay began with 5 nights on 2nd floor. We enjoyed the well equipped Gym with staff each morning. After some day outings we landed back by pool for an afternoon swim and drinks. The pool was warm and very clean. My wife used all spa services and said they were wonderful. Dinners at night with executives from various companies around the city were help at the upstairs restaurant and it was delicious. We also enjoyed excellent lattes and drinks from the bars. Will visit again. Will bring friends.

Serena hotel is in a class of its own. The service from staff is unmatched - they go out of their way to make your stay the most amazing one yet. The consistency of good happy staff everywhere you turn can’t go unnoticed as they have a very happy staff body. They make you feel they you are the only person they were waiting for all day. The facilities are clean, beautiful and good care is taken of them. The rooms are extremely clean and spacious. They have beautiful bedsheets and lovely ambience. The gym is great, great instructors who are very happy to help. The work out classes are excellent and the instructors are great.

Spent 8 nights here, in the lowest-category room, while in Nairobi for business. Good choice for a business traveler: 1. Clean, comfortable, well sound-proofed rooms. Lots of power outlets and USB ports. However, no views. 2. Good restaurant, with Western, Indian, and local options. Has some outdoor seating space. 3. Nice outdoor pool, close to the restaurant. 4. The gym has the basics. 5. Good security. The guards are quite diligent about checking cars and bags before you enter the hotel. 6. You don't really feel that you are next to a busy highway. That said, if I were in Nairobi for a vacation, I would definitely look for something with more character, and surrounded by more greenery (e.g., the Radisson Blu by the Arboretum).

The room was nice and clean, but the bathroom was very small and also the towel rack fell down when we touched it. This should not happen in a five star hotel. The breakfast was good, but the service at the breakfast was very poor. We ordered omelettes and were waiting for them for the whole time we had our breakfast. We asked four times after our omelettes and still didn’t get them. Only when we were finishing our breakfast the omelettes came! That was too late, as we had to leave. The poolside is good and the drinks at the pool bar were excellent! The check-in was not very smooth and think our taxi order was not received, so we had to check that once more. A place to remember that I do highly recommend that you visit next time in Nairobi. I experienced an amazing hotel service from the receptionists to house keepers. Rooms are very clean - you can't complain.

N1 place, highly recommended. it is really a place to remember without any doubts. Located in the heart of Nairobi, Hotel Serena offers a fitness centre and a spa. You can relax on the sun loungers by the outdoor pool, which is surrounded by palm trees. Elegant and spacious rooms and apartments are furnished in warm colours and with wooden furniture. They include a TV, air conditioning, a private bathroom and free Wi-Fi. The hotel has a restaurant that offers fine seasonal menus and also has an extensive wine cellar. A variety of snacks and drinks can be enjoyed at the poolside bar, while cocktails are served at Askum Bar. At the 24-hour reception, they can arrange concierge services, limousine transportation and babysitting, or arrange for you to visit the hair salon located within the hotel. Free private parking is also available. Transfers can be arranged to Jomo Kenyatta Airport, 13 km away. Railways Golf Course is 3 km away and Nairobi National Park is 9 km away. My husband and I stayed at the Nairobi Serena in late December and it was a lovely time! A Christmas morning swim in their outdoor pool was refreshing! The staff members at the hotel were delightful and went above and beyond to help us. We needed assistance getting back luggage that the airline lost and they were diligent advocates on our behalf. Whatever we required or desired, they were there for us. The gift shop is nice and offers a range of things from cute knick knacks to practical stuff like mosquito repellant. It's also very safe. Security is thorough. And the restaurants were nice too.

We have been visiting the Nairobi Serena for 22 years and are delighted that it’s still as superb . Checkin faultless and friendly, rooms spotless and everything you need. Extra bed in room no problem, great wine and mini bar. Breakfast and dinner delicious, superb cocktails and enjoyed the bands. Would love to hear done African bands too. All areas beautifully cared for and we love the pool area, gym and spa. It’s wonderful that Joshua on the door, Boaz the wonderful Porter and Peter the lifeguard remember us from 22 years ago. Made our stay extra special. We look forward to returning!
