We had one night in the hotel and we found all the staff kind, helpful and welcoming. The room was clean with a large comfortable bed and views over the national park. There is now a busy road splitting the 2 meaning the pool experience isn't ideal but this isn't the hotel's fault. We headed to the Acacia restaurant for out evening meal and this is where the offending incident occurred. Our waiter Julius was very nice and helpful, my sister is vegan so we needed the menu adapting, which the chef was able to do. However when it came to pay Julius took an exceptionally long time to bring our change, bearing in min it was no late and we were tired. When the change arrived it was all mixed up and the receipt had gone. I began to count the change out which I don't think he expected. My sister asked for the receipt and he went off to get it. When he came back he had the total had written on a scrap of paper and not the printed receipt. The total was the same. He said he was sorry and had 2 other payment envelopes and was trying to make out ee had had a mix up with our change. By this point there were only 2 other tables in the restaurant. There was no mix up. This was purposeful. We were short 1400 KES and he had brought an extra 1000 so we were still short 400KES. While I was trying to count the correct change he kept talking to me by way of distraction and said he had forgotten to bill the water for 300 so I gave him a further 300 and left. I suspect he did not put this water through the til system and pocketed the extra 700KES for himself. This left an extremely bitter taste in my mouth and marred my so far excellent experience there.

I've stayed at the old Ole and now the new Ole. Obviously, the new Ole has better amenities (bar, pool, restaurants, etc). The only thing lacking at the new Ole is the pizza oven that the Old Ole has. Also, the new Ole's rooms seem to have a mosquito problem. In the few hours I've been in the room, I've killed four mosquitos. I'm not certain how they got in, as I haven't opened the window facing the safari park area.

Spotless business hotel not far from the airport and with a great view of Nairobi National Park (particularly in the breakfast room). Very comfortable bed, spotless bathroom, with the luxury & comfort level you would expect of a 3 or 4 stars business hotel in Europe. Very quiet at night. The only downsides are the absence of mosquito net and the fact that internet didn't work while we were there (or rather, we weren't able to connect). Good level of service otherwise.
