Detailed Reviews
My second stay in this apartment accomodation with a total of 3 weeks. The rooms are tired and in need of reinvestment. If you need an overnight or short stay then they are functional and comfortable enough but the bathrooms are shabby and furnishings wearing out, plus wifi didnt work throughout the apartment as the router was in the neighbouring room.
The Chumba bar and food was excellent with great service, a pleasure to visit, but the breakfast/ cafe part struggled with orders and was very slow.
Housekeeping did not provide daily drinking water, infact only 2 small bottles for my whole stay. Also when they broke a piece of my expensive electrical equipment noone took responsibility and reception offered no resolution at all.
My rooms were noisy on the top floor with constant gurgling/ running water from above and noise from the neighbouring accomodation including dogs.

The room reflects the timeless beauty of Swahili architecture. The King Post Apartment has a mystic coastal warmth and intimacy. The bedroom was glamorous with exotic solid mahogany and oak furniture. The intricate Swahili craftsmanship within the apartment brings alive the romance of a long forgotten era. The apartment complex also has a leisure pool with barbeque area, spa and massage facilities, gym, restaurant and bar and a secure car-park inside the compound. Overall, we loved the apartment and highly recommend other fellow travelers to stay here when in Nairobi.

We were originally booked at The Grand Gables (within the same hotel group) only to receive a phone call as were headed to check in saying our room at Gables had not been vacated so we were being put up at The King’s Post nearby.
We had a studio apartment, quite roomy with full kitchen etc.
It is quite basic - no extra blankets or pillows so we were lucky it was not cold.
Didn’t eat any food but the menu looked good.
I wonder how commonly this ‘room swap’ is made, as I believe King’s Post rooms are less expensive, yet I was still charged the full rate for Grand Gables.

Run down facilities, the kitchen was disgusting and there was no kettle. Stove failed to work. When we arrived, there were no towels and we were told that the washing machine had broken down and none would be made available. After some pressure, towels were miraculously provided!
Would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

I just loved staying there. The staff were so helpful, accommodating and kind. We had absolutely no problems.
House keeping was on top of things without being intrusive. The location is great as well and close to the shopping centers and other things

Checked in thinking I will have better service than the hotel in which I was, and then I was shocked. They first put me a room that was not the one indicated in my booking. I was promised when I come back from my conference will find my bag transferred in another room. When I came back the lady at the front desk did not know anything about the earlier agreement. I did not even find an adaptor to charge my phone and laptop.

a cute little spot perfect for a romantic date.
I liked that we were alone; enjoyed the ambience and food by ourselves.
The murals on the walls are a fit for the spot.
I would have loved to be by the pool but it had been reserved though the Tavern still worked.
We enjoyed our choice of meals; chicken menthi and pork chops.
They have generous servings on everything even customer service.

Good, but with hot water it would be a lot better.....
Stayed 3 nights and again 1 night a week later.
Unfortunately the hotel doesn't seem to be able to get the hot water going duong very cold nights (9°C) in Nairobi.
Honestly, that is a major issue and should be able to be fixed easily. But, as my second visit proved, they're not interested in really solving it.

Lovely staff- couldn't have been more helpful! The manager and front desk helped us book train tickets on our first day which was really great as it saved us oodles of time.
Central location. Great design.
Hot water and wide verandah.
A little on the noisy side as it's on a road.
