Safari tent was super comfortable and private. The food is great and the whole place has a relaxing friendly vibe. Great location to explore the area or just relax and read a book. great advice from owners and good to chat to locals that go there for a beer. Val even stayed up until 1am to wait with me for my taxi to the airport. Highly recommend and cant wait to come back.

I stayed in my tent at Karen Camp, usual facilities toilet and shower block all clean, electric plugins if needed. The campsite is in a good location with things to do locally, it’s a safe area with 24 hour security on the front gate. Everyone at Karen camp are friendly and can’t do enough to help with great local knowledge. I did see a lot of beautiful birds and butterflies in the grounds and it was lovely to see Hadada Ibis just outside of my tent. I really enjoyed my stay here.

This place was much less good than expected. The location is quite good but the hostel ground is not too nice. It's a bit old fashioned and there is only 1 toilet. Food is too expensive for what it is, just like the hostel in general.

Dear Bianca M, Sorry we did not come up to your standards Bianca, but if you read all the other reviews, they seem to disagree with your opinion. If you can find a better place to stay in Nairobi please let us know. Competition is good. Cheers for now. Val, Staff and Brendan Karen Camp & Hotel

Good lawn for camping. Basic shower block which had great hot water & pressure, at times. WiFi is extremely good. Restaurant options need improving. We ate in other places in Karen for similar price with better quality & quantity.

Dear Jess, Thank you for your review. We are a backpackers and budget camping and hotel place to stay. We noticed you did order food from us every day so many of us (staff and local friends) intrigued about other places in Karen for similar price that has better quality and quantity. When did you use these places as I said you ate off our substantial menu every day!? Please tell us where they are because we have yet to discover any such places. We would certainly try them out and recommend them if up to our standards. Cheers for now, Val, staff and Brendan from Karen Camp & Hotel.

Karen Camp is a reasonably nice camp ground. The grounds are nice and the place has good social areas and the modest facilities are fine. The restaurant food is ok, but the portions are mean and the prices relatively high ☹️

Thanks for your review Tim(?), yy Karen Camp & Hotel staff and management prides itself on doing our best to please our guests and customers. We are constantly working on improvements and glad you were pleased with the camping area, facilities and gardens. We try and provide a homely atmosphere, and produce homemade style meals for our guests with the best quality and hygienic food produce we search out and charge a nominal amount IE: cover costs as our kitchen makes little if any profit. It's more like a service to our guests and customers. Not sure what your budget was and where else you may have found better and cheaper but if you ever venture this way again you should talk to management about problems that disturbed you and as you can see from many other reviewers many people believe we do provide a good service and disagree with your review. As for being a place with modest facilities, you do have that near correct, but we are a budget 2 star hotel and camp. We won an award for that last year for the best 2 start hotel and that's has to be better than the worse 3 or 4 star hotel. I think your budget for visiting Africa may have affected your review. We have always encouraged guests and customers to engage with staff and management about anything that they may not be completely happy with and our policy is, if you have a problem, please tell us and we will do the best we can to fix it and if you have enjoyed our family orientated, budget and humble Hotel and Camp to please tell your friends and other fellow travellers. You seem to have that policy in reverse. Pity! Good luck with your further adventures. .
