Secret Haven Inn has a kitchen with all necessary equipment: microwave, kitchenette, fridge, cutlery, mugs, glasses and even wine glasses. The place is clean and has a mosquito net. The breakfast can be arranged very early in the morning. Even if it is a B&B, you can pay with a credit card.
(-) Two times we ordered a transportation and both times we had some issues. The first time we wanted to leave at 9:15 and informed about it in advance but instead departed at 9:35 and barely made to the tour that suppose to start at 10. The second time we had to wait for a taxi 10 addition minutes with our heavy backpacks on. At the end it turned out that it was not an official taxi. I hope my credit card was not copied, and since I have paid only at this B&B, and it would be pretty easy to find out, from where the fraud is coming from. Keep in mind that it is a B&B in a private apartment, so people may check in or check out early in the morning or late in the evening and it might disturb you. For breakfast you get omelette or pan cakes and fresh fruits. But canned pineapple? Seriously?! In Kenya!
It is clean, and acceptable in general.
The flat is very comfortable and beautifully furnished. It comes with a fully equipped kitchen that guests are welcome to use. There is a supermarket in a mall within walking distance (Naivas). In the morning, breakfast is made no matter how early you leave.
The room was a reasonable size (we had the twin room). It’s not en-suite, but since the only other guest was using the en-suite room, we had the shower room and toilet to ourselves. The beds were very comfortable. Everything looked spotlessly clean.
The flat is near the airport and the owner took us to the airport the following morning (for a fee). The only issue was: traffic. The flat is the other side of the airport from Nairobi, which means that in the morning, you end up caught in all the traffic travelling into Nairobi. It’s a dual carriage way and you go past the airport, before you can turn off for the airport (and basically turn back on yourself). If you decide to stay here, do leave plenty of time to get to the airport.
Otherwise, convenient and clean and very pleasant.
