James and his team really did everything they could to help us settle into the city, from the 2am pickup and drop off at the airport to late evening check out on our departure day. We were even able to stay 2 nights when the Guest house was officially closed for the holidays! Had to pay cash but could pay... More

Great safety. Good three meals. Comfy and quaint but watch out for pricing. The prices are per person per night. At 2750 shillings for mission workers and 4750 shillings for assorted heathens. So two people per night at the juicy price is $140 AUD.In a country wallowing in a tradition of corruption and deception the desk clerk will gleefully charge the... The Mayfield Guest House was our final night's accommodation in Kenya before return to the U.S. Our travelling companions, my wife's sister and her husband, missionaries for 9 years in Kisumu, booked us into 2 rooms. Our stay in Room 16 was by far the nicest night's sleep we'd had during our stay. We needed it, as the next day... More

My wife and I had to be in Nairobi for a Monday morning meeting, so we booked ourselves into the Mayfield Guest House for the Sunday night... we'd heard good reports from friends, and thought we'd give it a shot. It was a very good experience, and very economical. It is located just off the roundabout at Valley Road and... More

Mayfield Guest House is well located close to the center of the city. Long but easy walk to the center. Very accommodating staff. We arranged for a very late dinner (10pm) since we had a late arrival. The staff took very good care of us. Rooms were comfortable and we had shared bathrooms. Food was good. The Mayfield seems to... This place usually has room if you need something last minute so it's good for a pinch. Or if your in town just to recuperate or rest up it's not too bad. Some of the rooms are decent -some are cold, sparse, and noisy. None of the rooms have toilets/showers, all are shared affairs out in the halls somewhere. Although... More

I traveled into Nairobi with my wife for a 'quick' hospital visit, or so we thought. We ended up having to ring the Mayfield to ask for a room and then again the next day. On both occasions they were fantastically accommodating and provided us with a room. The hotel is a charming and peaceful place to stay, even as... More

I have stayed at Mayfield in the past and have listed a review on trip advisor in the past. My last stay was not as great as stays in the past. They must have been having some sort of family retreat while I was there as kids were running up and down the halls and all over the grounds yelling... More

Mayfield is a wonderful, peaceful and cozy place, where you will love to rest after a long day. Every one there is such a delight and helpful. The rooms are simple but very clean and the beds quite comfortable. The internet connection works very well and is quite fast. The food is always really good too. There are plenty of... More

I stayed at Mayfield for several nights in July. For a competitive price they will pick you up or drop you off at either airport in Nairobi. They also have vehicles that you can rent at a competitive rate if you need to run errands and are legally and comfortably able to drive in the city. The playground area was... More
