I stayed here for a period of 3 months and then another 2 months in 2013 and 2014. The staff here are great - very helpful and kind. The internet in some of the rooms is spotty, and the hotel needs to invest in new pepper shakers, but besides that, there's really very little to complain about!

gets tedious as place to live. Initial impression is one of awe, incredible sculpture throughout, spacious interior, personable staff and great ambiance. After a week or two, which is the norm for the visiting dignitary or evacuated aid worker, the decor goes to overwhelming. Pluses: food, staff, sculpture, shisha on the roof. Negatives: techno music 24/7, awkward room layout, impractical... More

This is my second visit to the Tribe wasn’t as great as the first and even though it wasn’t horrible I could see cracks of falling standards. The Tribe really needs to do something about the noise issue on the weekends – yes, they send each guest a notification the day before but it gets so noisy and very difficult... More

This hotel is in a NW suburb of Nairobi. It is very close to the US Embassy and UN compounds. It is not close or convenient to anything in downtown Nairobi, but it is one of the few safe hotels for Westerners to hang out and walk around. It is next to the Village Market which has a large number... More

Tribe provides friendly service, and excellent restaurant. Don't pass up breakfast. Can't imagine you getting such a substantial meal for the start of your day at another place. Village Market is a three minute walk away. Good for alternate eating options. Hotel taxi is crazy expensive. Suggest local cabs. Tribe will call for you. Very convenient location is working nearby.

Very friendly service, restaurant is good with expected prices. Breakfast is very good. Walk to Village Market where there are all kind of choices. Decent small gym with trainers that can give you tips. Some rooms are small and oddly shaped, make sure you get the ordinary rooms. The fares charged by the hotel taxis are astronomic, bargain hard and... More

The hotel is beautiful and the service is wonderful. The hotel concierge even brought me flowers when she discovered how sick I became during my trip. My room was very quiet, peaceful, and relaxing. The bath tub and the nightly turn-down service were nice touches.

Lovely hotel, nice digs; furniture, fittings and decorations, very rare, culturally 'tribal'. Attentive staff willing to listen to issues and solve them without fuss. Extremely peaceful, no traffic, no noise. Village Market is a stone's throw away. Will stay there again, for sure.

I haven't stayed in the hotel itself, but I use the restaurant in the basement quite often. The food is delicious, the staffs are very polite and courteous and service is great. I order my cakes there also, I must say, their white chocolate is the creamiest, most tasty I have had without it being sugary. Chef Anne made really... More
