Our group consisted of 2 adults and 3 children and this was the perfect hotel in terms of location, lots to do nearby. We had a spacious comfy family room that was perfect for our size. House keeper kept our room spotless and the children loved coming back to animals made out of towels. Staff on reception were always welcoming, polite, very helpful with loads of information at hand. Food was so good we didn’t want to eat anywhere else thank you chef Gabrielle. Beautiful views from terrace and excellent service in the restaurant, thank you Mohammed, Abo Zezo, Ahmed Ali, Ahmed Abdo, Alosh, Taha Ali, Walid, Ali and Sadak. Huge thank you to Reem, Tahir, Shaimaa and all the staff for making this one of our best stays. We are already planing our return next year.
We recently stayed at the best little hotel in Luxor- the Nefertiti Hotel on El Sahabi Street, near the avenue of Sphinxes. We had a wonderful stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, the beds were clean and comfortable and the rooftop resturant served the most delicious food. My favourite dish was their traditional Egyptian musakka made with eggplant, green pepper, chickpeas, tomato, garlic and more in a clay pot - yum. I had a bit of a sniffle on day and was fortunate to be served a hot lemon and ginger tea with honey. It was too good for words. Talk about Egyptian kindness. We all loved our stay and happily recommend the Nefertiti Hotel to anyone wanting to immerse themselves in Egyptian culture while staying in Luxor, Egypt.
All of the 4.5 to 5 out of 5 star guest ratings are accurate. Nefertiti is in the heart of Luxor. I arrived just about dusk and after getting my small bag to my convenient and super clean room, I scrambled up two more flights of stairs to the rooftop restaurant. I looked out and there was the Luxor Temple, Avenue of Sphinxes and Nile -- so close I could take beautiful pictures of them from the dining table atop the Nefertiti. I had "fixer" -- a warm, wonderful, English-speaking man who gave me his whatsapp number and checked on me throughout the trip (in a gentle, helpful -- certainly not upselling way). On the top floor, an amazing covered terrace awaits. That's where self-serve, buffet breakfast is served. Servers were great, one even sprinted to me when I groggily forgot my book bag, with expensive camera, at my table. The owner of the hotel visited me at my table the first night. He's a gentle, thoughtful man that comes from generations of great hosts. He has the perfect makeup to be an excellent hospitality operator. The room is plenty big and the housekeeper for the floor checked in on me often and offered anything I could have needed. The shower had plenty of hot water and the bed was very comfy. The tour desk is amazing. My West Bank tour was perfect and my guide was super smart. …
Location. Friendly and helpful staff. Helps arranging tours. Very clean. Really good value. The best restaurant in Luxor is the one at the hotel. Views from roof top terrace exceptional - Luxor Temple and in front of the West Bank you can even see Hatshepsut temple! We had good weather so couldn't see the sunset. Only downside is that hot water runs out quickly and the shower is very small, so water spreads everywhere. Breakfast in bad weather days there are less options (not in the terrace).
Decent hotel with good service. Nice rooftop restaurant. Location is really good - near the Nile and the markets. No elevator - and our room was on the third floor and after arriving after a long day of sightseeing the three flights of stairs was a bit of a pain. Rooms are OK - basic, but good enough. Hotel is well kept and clean.
