Lovely staff who looked after us from arrival to our last day. Very friendly people. Comfortable bed and we enjoyed the wide variety in the Karnak restaurant. Had some great swim at the heated pool with Jacuzzi jets, great relaxation after our hikes. Clean place. Awesome sunsets on the water
Beautiful views of the Nile. I wished the area outside the gates were cleaner.

Situated on the East Bank of Luxor, Steigenberger Achti is an upmarket wonder found in a peaceful location of Luxor. Roughly 20-30 min away from Luxor Airport, we were given a memorable stay by the team. We chose the deluxe room, and it was really the best room we could have chosen at great value when compared to other branded Hotels in the area. A beautiful bathroom awaited us with adequate lighting in the general room, a comfortable bed, a lovely patio area overlooking the Nile and furthermore, we were even welcomed with local sweets on the coffee table to enjoy with our tea. Breakfast was stunning with almost everything one could want available to enjoy, with the restaurant overlooking the pool and Nile river. The guest relations manager was always visible and made it a point to ask us how our day was as well as if there was anything she could do to assist us. The Sakkara bar was one of our favorite spots, offering a 2 hour happy hour from 7-9 pm, a large screen television and a decent view of the nile as well. The resort enforced strict Covid measures which allowed us to feel safe during our stay- signage for wearing of masks, use of hand sanitizer and social distancing was always . We were sad to leave, however thanks to the service of the team and the resort itself, we know we will return to Steigenberger Achti.

We have stayed in thus hotel many times and always been well looked after. In the past 18 months the public areas of the hotel have had a major facelift since being taken over by Steigenberger, and overal it is very impressive. The only dissapoitment to us was the closure of the Agra Indian restuarant, which used to serve some of the best Indian food that we have tasted in the world, hopefully they will consider bringing it back. Thankfully the Egyptian chef that used to cook the Indian food is still there and made us a great curry one night, arranged for us by Sabri and Abdul in the restuarant The hotel is very well located, within walking distance of the town and right on the banks of the Nile, with a lovel outdoor pool where you are well looked after by Ahmed and Ramadan, the pool attendants. The quality of the food has inmproved a lot with new menus and a completely new breakfast layout. As always we must call out Sabri, the manager of the Italian restaurant for looking afer us so well, along with Mustafa, one of the waiters in the main restaurant, but thanks go to all of the staff for looking after us.

We, a family of 4, stayed in Steigenberger hotel achti forb5 nights in February 2021. The location is absolutely lovely And the sunsets were breathtaking. The rooms are spotless clean and everyone was very accommodating, helpful, and friendly from the reception to the housekeeping and in the restaurant. The food was delicious.
I had been to Luxor before but without kids and my goal this time was having a relaxing time as we have a toddler and a newvorb around so unfortunately we wouldn't be able to visit many of the monuments. For this reason we enjoyed the heated pool overlooking the Nile, and multiple boat rides directly reachable from the hotel. We also enjoyed strolling around the hotel in the evenings. It's very easy to reach the Luxor Temple, Karnak, and Luxor museum and the market via boat, cart, or taxi.
Covid precautions were tip top. There was sanitizer stations at every corner and every single person working in the hotel had their masks on all the time. This has really made us feel safe.
The only drawback in my opinion was that there is no playground for kids however the heated pool has safely saved the day when we wanted to spend one of the mornings relaxing inside the hotel premises.

I don’t rate this place at all. Considering it is meant to be 5* certified, I’ve stayed in 4* hotels in Egypt with better staff, rooms and amenities than this one.
The room was ok at best, but most conveniences weren’t available - mini safe was locked, fridge was off, no kettle/hot drink facilities. The air conditioning was feeble and the bedding had VERY thick duvets (which obviously isn’t good for travellers who aren’t used to the climate). If you’re lucky enough to get a Nile facing room, then great. If you have a room on the opposite facing side, the nicest view you’ll get is the moon at night…if it isn’t cloudy!
The shops outside the hotel - I wouldn’t bother unless you want to see more papyrus, fake clothes and/or more typical souvenirs.
The staff didn’t seem to be interested in making us feel welcome and said very little when interacting with them (maybe because we staying here as part of a tour package we received a lesser service). They also attempted to add in a RIDICULOUSLY high service tax charge for a can of Coca Cola and various other drinks.
The food was no better than average, some of the options which should have been hot were actually cold or at room temperature, but just your typical, buffet style, holiday hotel food really.
The positives…large clean lobby, the hibiscus juice at breakfast, a free ATM outside the hotel and you get a lovely view of the sun setting over the Nile in the evening.
I saw this place when searching for my holiday online and remember seeing how expensive it is; I’m guessing this is purely because of the location, because I’d be disappointed on arrival had I have actually ended up booking to stay here.

After a week of touring Upper Egypt we ended our trip with a few days at this resort which was absolutely the best decision we could have made. We were still able to enjoy views of the Nile but away from the noise and street chaos. The location on the Nile is absolutely stunning. The service was fantastic. We ended up having two beds instead of one larger bed, and on our last morning the water was cold, but they tried their best to resolve these issues. They let us have a later checkout which was helpful. There was no iron or hair dryer in the room, but they quickly brought us one upon request. We had a balcony but didn't pay the extra to be on the Nile view side (which might be worth the extra cost because it is a beautiful view - we enjoyed it from the bar/pool area instead).
The breakfast buffet and service was great. We also ate a few meals at the Italian restaurant and especially enjoyed their pizza. The bar was great as well. It was nice to just stay onsite for a full day. We also checked out the stalls in front of the hotel and we did all of our last minute purchases there with no haggling required. The prices were so reasonable and it was really nice to pay a fair price for items without being bombarded by hordes of sellers.
We especially enjoyed Badawy's store where he embroiders a number of items and sells shirts, scarves, pillow cases, towels, etc.

We had a street facing room, so view not great, but it didn't matter as only went to room to sleep and get ready. Room was very comfortable, with free daily tea and coffee and a small fridge with drinks and snacks (not free but very reasonable). We stayed 6 nights in Luxor here, with breakfast included. The breakfasts were great, loads of variety and started early at 6.30am, which was ideal in this heat, I would recommend making an early start on the tombs and temples. The staff were pleasant and helpful, especially the pool attendant. We ate lunches in Karnak restaurant, reasonably priced and good food. We had an evening meal in Ninos' restaurant, the Italian on site, again, great food for a good price. The only downside is that they cannot organise any trips or taxis for you. There are plenty waiting outside the hotel, but they are not all honest. Until we found one we trusted (who we ended up using as our personal driver, picking us up from the hotel for all trips, and waiting at the restaurant to take us home), most of the taxi drivers change the price from what was agreed at the start.

We stayed three nights in a room with a Nile view. The view was wonderful from the sunsets in the evening to the hot air balloons in the morning and the hills all day long.
Our room was clean but we had to ask for amenities that should have been standard: bar soap (only had shower gel), an extra chair for our patio (only had one when others had two), and toilet paper (only had one partial roll when we arrived and that ran out before the room was cleaned the next day). All these items were quickly provided when we asked, but we shouldn’t have had to ask.
On a more positive note, the staff are fantastic; so friendly and welcoming. Saad’s hospitality at the restaurant is tops. We ordered lunch and dinner off the menu instead of eating the buffet due to bad buffet experiences in the past. The food was excellent, but even better was Saad checking in with us and making sure we had everything we wanted (like my husband wanting ice for his water). We ate at Nino’s Italian restaurant one evening and found El Tayeb to provide similar service to Saad. He was very helpful when we couldn’t see the menu due to low lighting and sat us in a special area away from a planned large party coming in soon after our reservation. The food was fantastic as well.
One pool is situated right by the Nile, for a lovely backdrop to your tanning or lounging. Staff make sure to provide shade with umbrellas if you wish and take orders for small meals/snacks and drinks. We did not visit the gym or the bar.
This resort left us feeling refreshed and relaxed; we would come again and highly recommend it.

To start with, I think a big part of our experience here was thanks to a fantastic front desk - especially Moustafa. He was extremely helpful and assigned what was possibly the best room in the property ( ASK for the Suite 160! Panoramic views of the Nile and the pool area and a massive private balcony area).
The location itself is a bit off centre ( about 2km from the Avenue of Sphinxes about 1.5 km from the Sofitel) but the difference in prices between the Hiltons etc is so massive that it doesn't matter that you pay 10-20 Egp for a buggy ride to town and the nearby restaurants).
The missing star is for the laughably bad food and service at the main restaurant. Infact,I am pretty sure they have a super disgruntled saboteur inhouse who switches all the name cards for the Dishes at the breakfast Buffet. So the Turkey salami is tagged as Chicken and Beef Sausages as chicken and so on :-p
Housekeeping was great and the security staff outside were super helpful.

The hotel is very clean. WiFi is superfast everywhere & AC works great. The staff are friendly, very kind & will do anything for you. They also don't hassle you whatsoever. Our room was clean, spacious with a great view of the Nile. Housekeeping was great & everything fresh everyday. The breakfast included was free with lots of different choices so no complaints. The food was nice & of decent quality. Reasonably priced but you have to add 12% service charge & 14% vat for everything you order. 2 pools with 1 opposite the nile which is really nice. The hotel gym is rubbish though. The location is good you can walk to luxor if not get a taxi for about £40-50 Egyptian pounds. Don't let the taxis outside the hotel gate try ripping you off. It's £350 Egyptian pounds return trip to Valley of the kings not the £900 Egyptian pounds they wanted at the gate. Overall very happy with our stay, Definitely recommend the hotel & again the staff are great.
