Lovely Luxor hotel and restaurant on the West Bank, with fabulous views overlooking the River Nile. The perfect base for exploring all what Luxor has to offer. Our guests enjoy the peacefulness of the West Bank with easy access to the East bank. El Mesala Hotel is only few minutes away from the ferry and 1 min to motorboats to the city center, Luxor Temple, Karnak Temple. Close to the fascinating historic sites such as Valley of the Kings, Rameseum, Medinet Habu and others. Most rooms overlooking the Nile, some facing the Theban Hills. Spacious rooms, restaurant, swimming pool.

We stayed twice at El Mesala, while in Luxor. They stored some luggage while we did the Nile cruising (I do not recommend the Nile cruising) The property is near the West Bank on the Nile. We got balcony’ rooms and while the view was great the exhaust fumes from idling buses was not great. It was a bit noisy with motorcycles zipping around. The boat taxis to cross the Nile are conveniently across the street. We got meals at the hotel, and the food was good, but a bit overpriced for certain Smoking was going on in the hotel, and I’m bothered by this a lot. I’m allergic. They did laundry for us, for a price, and that was fine, but overpriced. The staff remembered us when we returned and they were friendly. They helped carry luggage which we appreciated We would stay there again, because it was a convenient location with a view. It’s overpriced and a bit run down everywhere in this part of Egypt...

This hotel gives the impression of having been more splendid at an earlier period of its history, but having faded somewhat since. But this does not erase the charm either of the place, or of the fine service the management attempts to provide. The rooms are spacious and clean. Each has a balcony overlooking the Nile , with splendid views day or night. I was pleased to be given the service of a very competent and enthusiastic driver, Mohammed, who provided useful guidance throughout my four days stay. He saw to it that I was able to see the best of what the Luxor has to offer in my brief stay. The restaurant staff did their best to accommodate my wishes, including obtaining lamb steaks for grilling after a mildly disappointing earlier meal. Breakfast consists of cream cheese with cucumbers and tomatoes, flatbread, yogurt, strawberry preserves, a banana, and an omelette cooked to order. The manager is a nice fellow, trying to make good in uncertain times. I found him to be fair and delightful. In sum, this is just the sort of place that the budget-conscious traveler should stay in order to make a fine holiday in Luxor.

Great hotel at the West Bank of Nile. Awesome open view from the terrace makes every minute delightful. From the terrace beautiful view of the Nile and Luxor temple. Ferry is on 1 minute walking distance which makes that you can stay and rest in the quite and anytime within a couple of minutes you will make the cross to the more crowded east side. Very friendly and respectful personnel. Always ready to help and show the hospitality in its top forum. They do really their best to make you feel home. I had a short stay of 3 nights, and if I had time I would have stayed longer. The rooms are clean. The furniture is a bit old but for me that suits a family hotel and nobody should rent a place for the furniture in my opinion.
