The Marsam Hotel is on the west bank of the Nile in Gurna Egypt. It is within walking distance of most of the interesting sites on the west bank. The antiquities ticket office is a very short walk away. The food is wonderful and inexpensive. The service is superb. The staff makes sure your needs are met. Need a Taxi?...

The one place I would go back to as a destination in its own right. The rooms are cavernous, simple but beautiful in there pared down functionality. Yes they are clean and housekeeping comes quietly whilst you have breakfast to keep it this way. The building with its half meter thick mud brick mud rendered walls are cool and quaint....

This hotel has a beautiful setting, lovely staff and great food. It is also good value. However I have to be honest... the bathroom was not clean and the drains smelled quite bad. The air conditioning didn't really work very well. Also Luxor can be a stressful place - taxis, scams etc. The hotel could be more forthcoming in helping...

Though it has take me some time to write this, it be total unjust not to write a review for Marsam. I visited Marsam with my family and we did not regret it! Our host Klaus was so charming, friendly, very knowledgeable and helpful. Together with his friend Dr. Bruno who is also an Egyptologist they gave us clues on...

My friends and I stayed here for 3 nights it was very peacful and relaxing. The hotel location is great.. away from the crowded touristic areas of the East Bank. Rooms are very basic, but everything is clean. Hotel staff are nice and helpful and the dinner at the restaurant is great you have to try it.

Outdoor patio overlooking farmland. Wonderful food, great vibe, great view. A lovely respite after visiting the tombs of the west bank. And they serve beer! The eggplant was particularly magical. I have no idea about the hotel.

Fantastic food charming location and service. We haven't stayed here but I was a wonderful lunch. The owner is german and quite sweet. Great views of the rural surrounds from the luncheon terrace. The gift shop is also an excellent source of well made local craft at reasonable prices.

This delightful oasis of calm on the West Bank is ideal for anyone wanting to spend the cool of the morning touring the West Bank Monuments and the afternoons lazing in pampered comfort in the garden. Staff are friendly and obliging without being intrusive, meals are excellent, and I have never stayed in a cleaner hotel anywhere. The room had...
