We had a great stay here. Very nice People en good beds. There was a great view from the rooftop and the room. The Pool was a great thing, for the hotel. And also the area not to many toerist. See you next time.
Not only does Flats in Luxor provide accommodation, but the owner, Mahmoud can arrange tailored tours depending on your interests. He arranged a felucca trip where we sailed from Esna south towards Aswan and back. This beautiful boat was even equipped with a bathroom! What a peaceful and relaxing way to see Egypt from the legendary Nile River. I can’t say enough about how great the staff on the boat was, not only at sailing but in creating some of the most delicious food I have ever had while in Egypt! Working as a photographer, I was able to capture some of the most breathtaking landscape shots on this trip.
Due to Covid, I was unable to visit Egypt in 2020. In September, 2021 I returned to Flats in Luxor once again, and stayed for two months. As always, it was a pleasure to arrive and see old friends. The staff at Flats in Luxor are wonderful, and they take care of their guests very well. If there are any problems, Mahmoud will respond quickly and efficiently. This year, all being well, I shall return to Gezira and Flats in Luxor. I look forward to being back in a place which feels like home. Best wishes to Mahmoud and all the staff for 2022.
We booked this place for a three night stay in Luxor after having read the roaring reviews on tripadvisor. Whilst the appartment was clean a spacious and with amazing views, we were really disappointed with the overall stay. Prior to arrival we were offered a pick up service for 25USD which seemed a bit much so we politely declined (we later realised that this was really outrageous considering a local taxi took us to the airport for 250EGP (+/-15USD)). Upon arrival, the owner Mahmoud met us and showed us the appartment. We asked to use the washing machine but were told to buy washing detergent from the local shop. As we were only staying for a holiday in egypt it didn’t make sense to buy a whole box of washing detergent and it would have been nice if Mahmoud had just gave us a cup. As we could not have breakfast at the flat, Mahmoud took us for breakfast at a local cafe which was very kind of him. We did not see or hear from Mahmoud after our morning of arrival. He was available on WhatsApp although when we texted him what to do with the key upon our departure we never got a response. As mentioned above, the appartment is spacious and clean with nice outdoor seating on the balcony. There is a pool although when we were there the water was freezing and it only got sun from around 11-13:30 during the day so if you like to do sightseeing in the morning and relax by the pool in the afternoon, this is not ideal. As for the appartment, this is great if you are with a family or group of friends (there are 2 or 3 bedrooms) and if you know the area or prefer to be left alone during your stay. Otherwise I think there are better places to stay in Luxor. Overall I recommend carefully considering if this is the right place for you before you book. It can be great if it meets your needs but otherwise I am sue there are better options in Luxor.…
I booked another 5 week stay at the flats as this is my favorite place to stay in Luxor. What I love most about this property is the fantastic staff that ensure everything is well maintained and they are easily available in case you need anything. The pool area is also very clean and private and I used the pool daily after visiting the sites. I find this location perfect as it is not only close to the major sites but there are a good selection of restaurants and shopping all within a short walk away. I look forward to my next stay!
Loved staying here! Nice accommodation and close to lots of services. Easy to catch transportation. The owner even drove me to the airport!!!! Views from the deck were amazing. Hot air balloons, banana plantation next door, view of the mountains. There is a nice pool and friendly staff. Flat has washing machine which was nice for a longer stay. Wifi worked great.
Having previously stayed at the Goubli flats as part of a group in 2011, I booked a week at the Nubian Eco Village this time as I was travelling solo, not realising that the previous 2 villas had been replaced by 2 x 2 storey villas. Only 1 ground floor villa was ready for occupation however with no cooling which was not ideal in 37 degree heat. The villa is quite small & now having no dome any cooling effect is lost. The shower (with no curtain) drains on the opposite side of the bathroom which makes the floor a bit tricky when wet. Mahmoud did provide a portable aircon which worked however was too noisy to run at night. The following morning we agreed that I would move to one of the Goubli flats next door which was an improvement. However this also had to be prepared for me. I don't believe any flats were ready for occupation & the reception area was quite unkempt. The flat faced the same direction as previously so had the same great views but was not the same standard with no kettle (provided on request) & limited kitchen equipment compared to 2011. Mahmoud & his brother provided transport locally & Gamal's food is unbeatable (ask for the fish tagine). He is the flats best asset along with his assistant. Almost more food than one can eat at breakfast & dinner. Particularly good when eaten on the rooftop with a view. I spoke to Mahmoud, as a friend, about updating the website as at the time of booking it was not reflecting reality. It appears to be better now but check thoroughly & ask questions prior to booking.…
I’m just back from my latest trip to Luxor where, as usual, I stayed at Flats in Luxor on the West Bank in the village of Al Gezera. The Flats are always clean and comfortable, and Mohammed and Mahmoud make sure that the guests are well supplied with bottled water, etc. Any problems are dealt with promptly, and with a smile. The location is wonderful, just a few minutes from the Nile, and the village has several good restaurants. I recommend Flats in Luxor, and I look forward to returning next year for another extended stay. It really is my home away from home!
I love staying at this location while in Luxor and this time was just as consistent as my visits before! Mahmoud has taken over as the main contact and host. He did a great job in making sure everything was well looked after - from my arrival, where Egyptair did not send my luggage from Cairo (we had to return to the airport later to pick it up), to my departure home. My favourite things about staying here are: the cleanliness of the property, including the pool, and the location to the Nile which is a 10 minute walk. Everyone in the village is so friendly and makes me feel like I am home! The location to major sites in Luxor is also another great benefit for staying here. I consider El Gezira my second home and will return again next year!
Can't really rate the standard of the amenity but I informed Mahmoud a few days beforehand that my arrival had been delayed to between 10pm and midnight. I arrived, as a single traveller, in the village with no directions and rang twice around 10.30pm, followed by a text. I hadn't received a reply within 15 minutes so had no other option than to book where I had stayed previously which was yet another 30 minutes travel across the other side of the Nile. This made my total travel time nearly 6 hours. Nothing received from him by way of apology. I contacted him later only to receive a message stating that everything had been ready for me. Clearly not. No attempt to try and remedy the situation during the 10 days that I stayed in Luxor.
