Although I wasn't staying at the Sheherazade being committed by a Study Tour to a hotel on the East Bank I joined a colleague who was staying at the hotel for lunch. I had been in before and love the style of the hotel but much more on this occasion I had the most comfortable chair I had had in... More

I am a female travelling solo in Egypt. I choose hotel Sheherazade based on the reviews on Tripadvisor. This is a beautiful hotel on the West bank of the Nile River at Luxor. The staff here are friendly, warm people. The food is great. The rooms and beds are clean and you get a good night's rest here. The bathroom... More

We had a fabulous time here. After the hassle of travelling with our bikes up from Cairo, arriving at Sheherzade was just wonderful. Calm & tranquil with helpful staff. Christine answered my queries instantly after reading a review that said it was cold at night-just ask for an extra blanket or a heater, not a problem. We were so happy... More

Located on the West Bank of Luxor (Thebes) the hotel is in a very quiet and peaceful position, far from the caotic centre of Luxor and the annoying people looking for bakshish across the Nile. At the same time you can reach the centre of Luxor with the nearby ferry boat in 10 minutes. You can rent a bicycle at... More

The architecture of the hotel is beautiful--magnificent details and wonderful large ceilings. Nestled in small rural area on the west bank-- and away from the more busy east bank-- it is an ideal location for contemplation, relaxation and enjoyment. The room I stayed in was perfect and cozy. The staff was helpful and attentive. And there was airport pickup that... More

This place feels like you're a thousand years ago, with all the paintings and styles covering the walls and the architecture itself so amazing. We booked 2 rooms, 1 double and 1 single. The staff were extremely helpful, cooking us custom dinners, and they were really kind people that I felt sorry for them because of the current situation that... More

You can go to one of those standard places along the East Bank in Luxor, but then expect to be bombarded with traffic noise most of the time, and sacrificing the romantic Ferry Boat ride over to the West Bank at the end of the day. The Sheherazade hotel was a welcoming experience from start to finish. From the moment... More

This is the best hotel I've stayed in on my previous journey to luxor, Aswan and Abu simbel, it's a customer/people-driven hotel, they stayed on the phone with us to give us directions till we reached the other side of the Nile to find a car waiting for us and giving us a lift till the hotel, it was a... This is the third time we have stayed at the Sheherazade, and we were as satisfied as ever. While we know our way around now, and didn't ask much of them, the room and restaurant services were as good as ever. We still enjoy the authentic Egyptian location, and peace and quiet (other than that wretched cockerel next door!), and... More

I've been visiting Luxor since 2000, and stayed in several hotels, both on the East and west banks. Since 2010 the Sheherazade has been my second home, but I wouldn't wish them to become complacent - so I will try to include some negatives. The rooms are comfortable, although sparsely furnished - I always ask them to move a small... More

Hotel Sheherazade is ideally located far from crowds & noise, an oasis of calm in a green & shady garden. The building, in the style of Hassan Fathy, reflects the designs evoked in The Book of a Thousand and One Nights, Sheherazade being the name of the beautiful storyteller.
