The Hotel just went through a name change back in October 2019 as per management. We stayed in one of the three rooms near the pool area, which made it very convenient to access the terrace, pool, and appreciate the overview of the Nile. The facilities are very nice and well kept. The room was very spacious with a couple of things to be improved, The shower drain required unclogged since it almost over flooded and the AC was inoperative, thankfully temps in March respect at night and it wasn't required, and also noise was a problem at night since people are allowed in the pool area till the late hours. The staff was very hospitable and helped us plan a trip to Luxor with stop in a few temples.

We arrived in the evening crossing the Nile river to this hotel on an Island, so had no idea where we were. The rooms are okay for a few nights, but the bath room need a refurbishment for sure. The few from the balcony is absolutely fabulous. The dinner on the evening of arrival was very nice, and a nice cold beer. A huge restaurant, where they also serve the breakfast.
All by all it would be nice to stay here again.

1, location: very good. Not far away from train station (1km) and 400m from KFC (ferry point).
2, Room a bit old
3, no WiFi
4, Breakfast is good.
5, The reception has nearly no clue about the Abu Simbel tour. They will probably offer you private tour but you do have other choice. Try going to Hotel Philae (400m from Hotel Obelisk) and ask the tour there.

"I had the worst hotel experience in Egypt during a two-day business trip for a conference. Upon arrival, I was disappointed with the room's view. When I requested a room change, they claimed the rooms were allocated for conference attendees and refused.

The room's condition worsened my stay. There was only one electrical outlet, which was occupied by the lamp. No outlets were available for charging our phones. The electric kettle had no nearby outlet, making it unusable. The closet was broken, lacking shelves. The door's safety lock was detached, and the internal phone didn't work. The room desperately needed maintenance.

The management's negligence and disdain for guests were appalling. Staff were unprofessional and rude. Food quality was average, with limited variety, mainly traditional Egyptian dishes like molokhia, bamia, and rice. The menu lacked diversity.

In summary, this was my worst hotel experience in Egypt. I strongly advise against it for both Egyptians and foreigners."

The general manager’s bad treatment of visitors in a manner that is provocative, arrogant and arrogant is not consistent with a tourist establishment. There are other hotels in Aswan with a high degree of respect and taste for the guests. I do not recommend visiting the hotel unless the treatment of the guests is changed in a good way.

The bathub wasn't cleaned ever! I had to do it myself to guarantee the hygiene with hot water and chlor; the toilet wasn't brushed for a while, although its clean but the bottom is not shiny as its supposed to be.
The pillowcase covers were dirty.
The toilet at the reception is a nightmare.
Breakfast: cheese isn't of good quality; there is no coffee machine, only sachets of nescafé.

Even though the actual visits to the sites in this tour were good, the experience at this hotel was horrible. After a long day of travel and sightseeing, we were looking forward to checking in to a supposed 5 Star Hotel. Nothing could be farther from the truth. The hotel was run down. It took over an hour to check in and get a room. The room was so hot we had to sleep with the balcony door open. The shower did not have hot water. The limited food was not good with the pizza being nothing more than a heated frozen pizza. Despite having contacted your tour leader, there was no correction of the problem. My advice to you is that if you have the Pyramisa offered as the hotel, CANCEL YOUR TRIP!!!!

Just checking out of this nice boutique hotel in Aswan along the river Nile on the corniche opposite to Movenpick resort (which is across the Nile on west bank).

Nice rooms, welcoming staff, great Egyptian and Italian food. Nice Riverside restaurant and shisha cafe. Has a pool though not hot water.

Great place to stay for solo as well as family travellers.

The property is great. We wished we could have stayed longer then just one night to enjoy it completely. However it has great facilities - like tennis courts , 2 pools etc. Only downside , the Gym is not open 24*7.

I booked two nights at Isis Hotel through a well known hotel reaservation website, at a cost of €49 per night, on halfboard basis, for two persons.

My original plan was to travel by bus to Abu Simbel after these two nights, and to stay there overnight. Since my wife was too tired, I decided to go there by plane and fly back to Aswan. Therefore, I asked at the reception desk for an extra night. It's important to point out that the hotel has about 100 rooms and no more than 3 or 4 were occupied (we rarely see any other guests at the dining room or at the swimming pool).

When I asked for a third night, I was told that the cost would be €80 on B&B basis, progressively reduced to €60 after I argued that I had paid 49 for the previous nights, with half board. I was also advised that payment should be in cash.

Therefore I decided to try to book again with the travel agency through Internet, which I considered was difficult due to lack of time. The Website initially accepted my request but advised me, some hours later, that "after submitting the room request to the Hotel, they advise us of an unexpected overbooking". This, while the hotel was practically empty !

Finally, I took the option to move to another Hotel, realizing that the reception people of Isis Hotel was trying to make some private business on myself. What was the reason for requesting a CASH PAYMENT ??. A four stars Hotel always accepts Credit Cards, even in Egypt.

does the hotel organise pick ups from Aswan Airport & if so cost?
Answer from JefftheBohemian
Santa Fe, New Mexico7 contributions1 helpful vote
I don't believe the hotel arranges pick up. There will be plenty of cabs at the airport. Negotiate. The ride shouldn't be more than 100 LE. Probably closer to 50. They will probably tell you 300. Offer 50. If they don't come down under a hundred, tell them you'll find another driver. They will agree. Have fun.
