The Historical hotel is amazing. Once u are in, u feel it’s 1920. I can hear the music , feel the spirits of all the celebrities that visited the place. It is a must visit. I went for dinner with a friend. We had to pay 300 pounds voucher , which is deducted from the receipt, on the entrance to allow us in although we called for reservation before. We had dinner at the Kebabgy which serves mainly grilled dishes. We sat at The Terrace restaurant too, but thought that the menu is a bit tight on choices. Overall , we had a nice evening & hope we can find available rooms on our next visit

Great experience! Historical hotel, antique but not old. Amazingly nice staff. Spacious and very comfortable rooms, with a soft bed and high pressure shower. The Nile view is so beautiful! I also had a very nice massage at the spa, which was great after a long round trip to Abu Simbel. We loved it and would come back.

The experience could not have been better. Beautiful room in the old part of the building and unforgettable view from the pool and terrace areas. Kudos to all the staff (all of them were exceptionally nice) and particularly to Mohamed and the bar crew. The drinks were amazing (but also very expensive) and all of them were unbelievably kind!

Make no mistake this is a grand old dame of a hotel which oozes character and history. I assume many of the 5 star reviews were people just taken aback by the decor, the position, the uniformed staff and the Churchill and Christie association - all this is true, our room had a great view (Nile view king suite) was down an imposing grand corridor wide enough to drive a car through - the food was great at Kebabgy and ok at the terrace restaurant. The pool is great. But little things niggle (and this is a 5 star hotel) - our in room coffee maker didn’t work, 2 plug sockets were broken, there was no turn down service offered, at sundown tables appeared to be magically reserved for groups without any notification (tips to waiters?), and despite signs asking patrons to wear face masks around breakfast food the rule was completely ignored and not enforced (I don’t mind but if you have the rule…..) So, 4/5 from us but just not really tip top 5 star quality - and vfm…. Oh and no matter what anyone says - stay in the old part!!

Amazing place to stay. Very very nice and helpful staff. Great outdoors and pool with view on the Nile. We stayed in the historical part of the hotel and loved it! Breakfast has a large selection and everything is super fresh. If you have the chance to go there, do not hesitate !
