Detailed Reviews
Beautiful lobby and views. Our room in the annex area was spacious and had a gorgeous view of the Nile as well as super comfy beds. It was also quite a hike from the main building. As other reviewers have indicated, the place has seen better days and just feels shabby and tired. The bellhops were in such a hurry to whisk our luggage away to our room, they ended up taking the wrong luggage, twice. The hand sanitizer dispensers in many parts were empty, and the glass in the elevator was simply filthy. The shower in our (also spacious) bathroom was TINY and didn't even have the smallest shelf for putting one's things. A hook for the towel on the back of the door was hung upside down, so the towel would fall down! There appear to be many food options, but this is misleading. We had a 12:30 pickup for tours in the area, so tried going to lunch early, to be told they don't start to serve lunch until 1. After we explained the situation and asked what our options were for eating there, they brought us the room service menu. Okay, so we ordered off of that menu, while sitting in their main restaurant. I got the "grilled cheese" sandwich, which came with smoked beef, but I requested it with no meat, which I said repeatedly. Well. You can guess how that went. Thankfully they were gracious about the error and comped us the sandwich, but alas, by then, it was too late to wait for more food, so I went mostly without lunch. For dinner we once again tried the room service menu, this time from our room, and one person in our family had stomach issues the following day. Breakfast, I will say, was good. This hotel seems very established and popular for Aswan, with breathtaking views, decent space, and comfy beds. Also, our 1-night stay was riddled with inconveniences. So. A mixed review.

Location is central to allow walking to the town area. Room and bathroom were spacious with a big balcony and good views of the River Nile. All the hotel staff were good, professional and willing to help.
Breakfast was good. Dinner is buffet (there is a menu option) but over-priced. Basically the same menu items every day, breakfast or dinner. But there is a lovely fish restaurant just almost opposite the hotel that serves good dinner at much less price.
The hotel is located right on a very busy road, so there is constant loud street noise day AND night, even with balcony doors closed (I stayed for 9 nights). Hotel should make the balcony doors double glazed to help with this. WiFi is very poor at the hotel. I was on the 5th floor and could not get good WiFi on most occasions. This was also the case in several areas of the hotel. Very disappointed by that, so you need to get your own local SIM card to stay here. The gym is very poor! Equipment like treadmill is broken and abandoned in a pile of dust. The sports TV channels in my room were of very poor quality (very grainy pictures). Complained about this, as this was during the World Cup, maintenance man came but could not fix it.
Fridge in my room was old, iced up, making door not to close, and hence not functional. A five-star hotel should really be checking and replacing items like this.
The whole swimming pool area is in a different area of the site, not adjacent to the main building as the pictures may indicate. You can only access that swimming pool area through a private tunnel under the very busy road after coming out of the main entrance of the hotel, so not really convenient for going to swim from your room.

We stayed at the Tolip Hotel for 2 nights. We were provided a room in the Annex. While it had a beautiful view of the Nile, the bathroom needs a lot of renovation. chipped floor, tiles, outdated fixtures, etc. On top of it, there was only WIFI in the lobby of the hotel, and so a challenge to walk a feww hundred metres everytime one needed to have access to WIFI. So we changed our room to the main building. This needs a huge mordernization as well.
The breakfast buffet was very mediocre. Toaster, coffee machines didn't work.
However the staff was excellent, hence my rating of 3. Otherwise the hotel and amenities will get a mere 1 or 2

I still can’t believe this establishment is a 5 star hotel. At first glance, it looks great but once you make your way to the hallway to get to your room, there’s something so eerie about it. I felt like I was in the scene of the movie, “the shining”. I guess with some updates this place can improve. Everything about it is so dated. The service is not as good either. We asked for the room service menu and never got it. The lady in the front desk kept insisting we had it in our room. Honestly, isn’t it much simpler to just get an extra copy of the menu instead of having your guest do a scavenger hunt only to find that we really didn’t have it, it’s beyond frustrating! I can’t believe a 5 star hotel would treat guest in this manner.
With the Coronavirus going on, I will commend them for disinfecting our room completely (they forgot about the bathroom, but they did clean the floor, lol), whenever house keeping came. They even had hand sanitizers available near elevators and upon entrance which made me feel safer. But other than that, that’s the only thing positive I can say. Most staff members are rude and seemed like they didn’t want to be there. The breakfast buffet wasn’t to my liking; but hey, it’s free so I can’t really complain. Our bathroom was filthy when we got it. Please check photos for reference. I will also be posting a video when we just checked in the room so you can see the condition of the bathroom before we used it. I will link that video later on. Overall, I would not stay here again.

We enjoyed the atmosphere and the spaciousness of the people of Aswan, but as for the hotel, it was the worst experience and the worst place to stay, starting from the reception, which does not know anything about how to deal with guests or welcoming them, to the cleanliness of the rooms, which we found remains of hair on the bed and bathroom, which indicates the lack of The cleanliness of the hotel in general and the staff in it. I read the hotel reviews before and I hoped that I would not find anything that bothers me, but I was disappointed recently. Before we left the hotel, we met a short and hairless person who introduced himself to us as the owner or manager of the hotel. I did not speak with him for long because he extended his hand in peace but Attentive to the precautionary measures, and his hand and eye were feeling my body and my clothes, and another time he was watching me from afar while swimming. I made a complaint as soon as I arrived, and I do not like to visit this place again.

+1
This hotel is close proximity to the Aswan Train station. It's about a 10-15 min walk otherwise, you can negotiate a taxi rate for 50 LE. I stayed in the chalets and the views of the Nile were amazing. The staff were very accommodating and welcoming and met all our needs. They will not let you go hungry. Due to Covid the buffet is currently closed so the staff is now delivering food to the rooms. I had a plethora of food and there was no way to finish. The only downside for me was that I thought the beds were as hard as a rock but other than that I enjoyed my stay.

Extremely lousy accommodations, bed, shower, seats are all old and used of not good quality. Breakfast is not bad but go for the hot items, all cold items are from the day before so they are stale. Extremely overpriced, they charge a 5 star rate when they are completely not up to standard in anyway.

The hotel was wonderful from all aspects. Not only is the hotel management very professional but they also provide a service with a personal touch. The management was very accommodating to our requests despite the hotel being at full occupancy. We definitely would recommend this hotel to any one visiting the beautiful city of Aswan.

We had a great room that was large, clean comfortable and located right beside the pool. There is a short walk through a tunnel to the main building so that you can safely cross the busy corniche/street. Our room had a great view of the Nile, as well. Very helpful and friendly staff.

This hotel is one of those "5-star hotels" in the city, and it offers nice views of the Nile River, and on top of that, they also own the other side of thstreet through an underground passageway. That was actually interesting to see. The pool was pretty cold and a welcome relief for the sweltering heat during our stay in Aswan, in the mid-40s!
The staff helped us assist in our luggage and did not ask for tips afterwards. Finally! Professionalism right there! The breakfast was of great quality and also offers a nice view of the river. The breakfast room has an outdoor balcony seating if you want that fresh Sahara air!
One downside though was that the washroom was pretty dated and you can tell by how old the door was due to repeated exposure from humidity. Also, their spa is not free unlike my hotel in Cairo. The staff were initially excited that we went there to have fun, she even turned on the music to set the mood, only to find out that the service was paid and we all rushed out of there. Haha that was funny!
