I stayed here individually and as part of a tour group. Service was impeccable and the staff were pleasant and helpful. Bottled water is provided daily in your room and the breakfast buffet was plentiful and good. The Nile River rooms have awesome views and being next door to the Egyptian Museum and close to Tahrir Square makes this a great location to stay. Keep in mind that you will have to put down a separate deposit at check in if you want to make charges to your room.

Lovely hotel in Cairo, with an exceptional location right on the Nile and next to the Egyptian Museum (where King Tut's burial mask and exhibition is). Rooms are spacious, if a bit dated. Complimentary pastries & fruit basket provided is a lovely touch. Beds are very comfortable and the views of the city are splendid. The breakfast buffet is incredible and offers a range of hot and cold cuisines covering a stellar array of cuisine types (Indian, European, American, etc.).
The only thing that prevents me from giving a 5-star review is that as a business traveler working to accommodate multiple time zones when I am traveling, the fact that there were two incredibly loud, incredibly late weddings during the weekdays was tough to stomach. The hotel didn't give any notice, and when I called to ask about when the events were expected to conclude they gave me one time but the music continued for at least 3 additional hours past. It is no surprise this is a preferred location for large expensive destination weddings, but I'll be honest that on the nights when I wanted to catch up on sleep after working until 3 am I really wish there was better sound proofing, better communication of when the event would end, or an offer to move me to a room further away from the noise.

The Nile Ritz-Carlton is a beautiful hotel. Our room was spacious and clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The staff was very attentive, especially Mohamoud who worked on the fifth floor during our stay. The only problem with this hotel is the noise. There was very loud music until about 1:30 a.m. each night we were there, and the road construction (jack hammers) created noise until about 4:00 a.m. The noise was bad enough that people on the higher floors also complained about it. The location of this hotel is great and, as a bonus, there is a bank in the lobby that stays open almost 24 hours, so you can change money, etc.

Service was excellent and staff very accommodating. The room temperature controls worked flawlessly and the WIFI was free with a strong signal. All items in the room worked properly. The room was very clean, and we had daily room service. Check in was quick and easy which is a big plus after a long trip. All the restaurants had excellent food; especially enjoyed the lobby restaurant which had great food and excellent service. The mattress and pillows were excellent. Lighting in the room was adequate, and we had a great view of the Nile from our balcony. The room was a bit dated, and the bathroom could use better showerheads. The lobby is magnificent, and the daily breakfast was superb with a wide variety of food. Overall, up to the standards of the Ritz and I would definitely stay here again.

The staff at Culina is super attentive, from Zeinab checking guests in and taking the time to get to know their names and room numbers, to Mahmoud, Ahmed, Mohamed, Umm Muhammed, and the entire staff. The chef makes fluffy omelets and great Benedict. Every person is very attentive to the guests' needs. Rooms are cleaned with great attention to detail. My only issue with the Ritz is how loud it can get at night when there are weddings.

In summary hotel is nice, convenient, but too noisy to repeat a visit. The whole 12th floor with the lounge is petty.
I spent a full week at the hotel on a business trip. I ate in the different restaurants, used the well equipped gym, the pool and had a massage. The services and facilities are all great. The staff were very welcoming, attentive and eager to make my stay enjoyable. I also used the concierge desk to squeeze in an early morning trip to the pyramids before work.
When I checked in I got a room upgrade (Marriott Bonvoy status plus booking with American Express platinum). I requested a quiet room because I had read other reviews. I got a nice room at the end of the corridor facing the Nile.
Even with a quiet room Cairo is noisy. But most of the week this was bearable (may have been an issue on a lower floor). But I was here on a Thursday night and there was loud music until the early hours of the morning. Then at 3am guests in a room nearby returned and were louder than I’ve ever heard guests be in a hotel. I’m guessing it’s a cultural thing as the weekend starts, but it was shocking.
Another detail is the floor they put me on is the top floor with the ritz Carlton lounge. With most hotel brands if you are on the club floor you get access. But when I tried to access the lounge I was told it was an extra $80/day for undefined benefits, so I passed. Really when they put me on the 12th floor at reception they could have mentioned the lounge was an added optional expense.
Overall, my experience was good but I question coming back here on my next trip due to the noise.

The Ritz Carlton is a beautiful hotel overlooking the Nile. I was fortunate to have a 3rd floor room at the front with a large terrace. Rooms at the back enjoy views of the lovely grounds. There is also an outdoor pool. Rooms are well furnished and employ engraved opaque glass to good effect for the bathroom and shower. The back leads straight out to the Egyptian Museum. Breakfast buffet was excellent and hotel offers choice of restaurants.

This hotel is nothing special. Rooms are dated, furniture worn, windows are not insulated so you hear traffic noise 24/7. The location is good overall and the breakfast buffet was very nice, but everything else was unremarkable, and the whole experience was ruined by the overuse of heavy scent diffusers in all the common areas; the chemicals spray in the air 24/7 and really irritated my eyes, the scent is way too strong, not to mention carcinogenic.

Spent two nights in room 923 and found the room and service to be on par with other Ritz Carlton hotels I have has the pleasure of staying at, in fact this was even better than the other Ritz hotels I have frequented . I will start by saying that check-in was prompt, friendly and informative. The room overlooked the Egyptian Museum and Tahrir square and was both large and well appointed. The bath room had tub, shower and two sinks and was large and well supplied. The AC worked flawlessly which I have found is not always the case in Egyptian hotels, even 5 star hotels. We did not hear any outside noise during our stay and the blackout curtains worked perfectly. Breakfast was the best we had during our three week plus stay in Egypt.
The location is literally steps from the Egyptian Museum and if you want to dine outside the hotel their is at least one very nice restaurant within easy walking distance. We did not use the large pool but can say the gym on the second floor is large, cool and offers a wide variety of up-to-date equipment. The lobby is of the grand style and in addition to shops and and ATM machine is also home to a bank, a plus when you need change which we always did. The staff were uniformly helpful.
In conclusion I recommend this hotel and personally plan to return before leaving Egypt in about ten days..

In about 95%+ of situations I prefer a newer and more modern hotel but in Cairo it’s the exception that confirms the rule. If comparing Marriott hotels, I stayed at the brand new St.Regis a couple of years ago and it was fine but I was not overly impressed. In contrast Ritz Carlton is much older so my expectations were modest, but in the end I can say I have a strong preference for RC.
The style of RC is a bit old fashion and the furniture could use a refresh but at the very least everything was in good condition and I did not notice stains or major signs of wear & tear despite the age. Many features in the room help the hotel age well for example the marble in the bathroom.
I received a suite upgrade at both StR and RC as Bonvoy Ambassador Elite but the main reason I prefer RC is how the suites have been designed. The problem at StR is that the suites facing the Nile were built the “wrong” way: both the living room and bedroom were long and narrow with a fairly small window at the far end which means both sides of the suite were fairly dark. RC was the complete opposite: the suite was wide with both the living room and bedroom having lots of window frontage so it was bright everywhere and therefore less depressing.
There were other small aspects where RC was noticeably better than StR for example service. I arrived at RC at 9am and they gave me an entry level room because the suite assigned to me was occupied by a guest who had requested late check-out. It was great to get another room during the wait. Service in the restaurant was also noticeably better and the breakfast itself was better as well. Also I should note that RC gave me free breakfast due to AMB status, even though they don’t even have to. That was appreciated.
Last but not least, while both StR and RC are on the Nile, RC is more centrally located and closer to museums. Bottom line for my own preferences, RC easily beats StR in almost every aspect.
I could also compare RC to other hotels on the Nile where I stayed before but they are in a lower price range, such as InterContinental Semiramis, Conrad, and Fairmont. While it would be a bit unfair to those three to match them up against RC, nonetheless for the record I liked RC better than all three.
In summary I would return to RC without hesitation and I can highly recommend it.

At least, One hour! Remember: Egyptians drivers, drives in an insane mode. Do not expect kindness with the pedestrian or respect for the stops lights. Fast seat belt and enjoy.
