We booked a one night stay at Nilr Ritz Carlton on th 9th April for our honeymoon. All payed for in advance through american express platinum. We had multiple issues from the beginning. The room was dirty, we witnessed staff spitting in the pool. Many of the drinks we wanted were not available. To top it off when checking out we had the most distressing experience. We were told we had to pay 5000 egyptian pounds for the stay. We paid this in advance of course and showed the invoice. Yet they insisted and when my wife requested to speak to the manager, the receptionist made a comment "why do you worry about such little things". It upset her greatly and made her cry. We stayed calm and eventually everything was resolved. We had to get a manager invved earlier in the day and the lounge staff nicely gifted us passpoet holders. A distressing experience from start to finish, being a gold elite member I would have expected more. Very unhappy and it ruined our honeymoon.…
Had a pleasant time by the pool albeit with a lot of intrusion into our personal space. The real issue came when 5 of our cards were declined and of course no possibity it could be the machine... no sorry... no admission that there could be anybody at fault but the customer.eventually went to the ATM and of course the cards worked. The smug pool attendant who was watching Like we were on Day release still couldn't admit it might have been the machine...
There are good people everywhere! I came to this hotel after I lost everything except the clothes on my back after a SCUBA boat fire in Hurghada/Red Sea. I could not have been better taken care of. The staff was incredible. They helped me locate some necessities and replace some lost gifts. They sent flowers and food to my room and checked on me regularly. The hotel is dated but elegant. After such a harrowing experience, I felt taken care of. I’d absolutely stay here again! 10/10
My family and I are currently visiting Cairo. We are travelling with two little kids and they can be handful! We had lunch there and the service was amazing. They were very hospitable and kid friendly. They provide the kids with some drowning packages and nothing was to much. When the kids were done they even got a special treat for the FB manager. Thanks so much for the amazing service and the great meal. The two jong ladies who waited on us were so kind and sweet. Thanks again for your help. Next time when in Cairo we will definitely stay at the Ritz.
Excellent hotel with comfortable rooms. Bed was very comfortable and the room was very quiet (at least on the Nile river side). The restaurants were also delicious; Bab El-Sharq and Bar Oro were two excellent options for a meal and a drink. Staff were friendly and the rooms are very clean. Location is great as the hotel is right in the center of Cairo with easy access to the subway. It's adjacent to the Egyptian museum with a back entrance from the hotel directly to the museum.
You always expect a top notch experience at a Ritz but this truly exceeded our expectations. Our junior suite was fabulous and Nile facing with every possible amenity. The welcome, personalized tour of the hotel and every staff so super attentive and friendly made this hotel as our top hotel experience in 4 country trip. The room service staff though stole our hearts because they were genuinely caring. Egypt is really a tough tourism destination but this hotel makes it so positive.
Amazing hotel with great amenities, my room was with a spacious balcony on the 3rd floor . Its very clean thanks to the great housekeeping services , furniture is new and the bed is like you’re sleeping on a cloud. Thanks to Mr. Mostafa elammary, zainab and beshoy from the front disc reception. Looking forward for my next visit 🌺
After the Cairo Museum you must stop for afternoon tea in the lobby cafe at the Ritz Carlton, which is just a few yards from the exit of the museum. Amazing service and superb sandwiches, scones and delicious cakes. Not sure if you normally get to meet the Chef but he came out to speak with me and to ask if I was enjoying my experience and his food. Wonderful touch. Based on today’s exchange rate of £22EGP to £1GBP the afternoon tea is only £13. Certainly lower than the London price.
I had a very good stay here. The service was great . Didn’t get five stars as the check in process at midnight took a very long time, the room I was originally allocated was a smoking room so they switched me to one with two double beds instead. The big problem during the stay was no internet at all the first 24 hours. The hotel had no back up plan ( mobile routers, etc) so had to work of data roaming. Not great. They did remove some in dining charges in compensation which was nice of them. Otherwise the stay was very good . All staff were very friendly and eager to please and to ensure the stay was good. Everything from F&B to housekeeping to porters were excellent,
