Visited in a year or two ago, not many plus points to the hotel apart from its pretty central. It was in need of a very good clean when i went, dust and dirt everywhere. My bed was even nailed together very crudely as obviously it had broke at some stage! Nice

If you are pcky and always stay at the Sheraton or Hilton, you're not a Cosmopolitan Hotel fan. It all depends on what you enjoy in a city. I think no other hotel in Cairo has such a superb location, if you enjoy walking, if you enjoy shopping, if you enjoy night life in Cairo, shopping, busy streets where Cairo...

We stayed 3 night at the hotel. Food was terrible and we waited for 1 hr after placing the order. Room was full of mosquitoes and very dark. But the hotel location is very nice, we really enjoyed our evening time to near by market area. Everything was very close to the hotel.

Hotel is in a decent area but hotel was dirty. Found lots of dust and dirt around our beds and bathroom was in need of a good cleaning. Elevator takes awhile to go up and down so if you are checking in at a busy time prepare to wait.

This hotel is right off Talat Harb near Tahir Square. I have stayed here on a couple of occasions and enjoyed it thoroughly. It has a quirky elevator and beautiful old world style. They serve a buffet style Egyptian breakfast daily that is a great way to start your day. Its with in walking distance of the older downtown campus...

I stayed at the hotel one night and ran to another the next day. The hotel is dirty. The "breakfast" is disgusting in a dirty "restaurant". The staff is not very friendly. As a woman, i was not allowed to have my colleague (another girl) coming to my room so that we could work. Who do they think they are?

We stayed at the Cosmopolian for two nights. The hotel clearly has some very nice character - tall ceilings and period features. Unfortunaterly, these are quickly overlooked when you realise how dirty the hotel is (not just the rooms but the communal areas too). Our room had a film of dirt covering many surfaces. Cairo is a smoggy city but...

The rooms are small, but ensuite, and reasonably clean. You do have to run the bath taps for a good 5 minutes to get any hot water, but once it arrives it is good and hot, and that was true in the late afternoon or in early in the morning - it's an old hotel with several floors after all....

I stayed at the Cosmpolitan back in December as it was the starting point for my tour group. If it wasn't for that, I would never have stayed at this hotel. It looks nice from the outside but once you get inside and into your room, you realise how how old and decripit it is. And given the relative high...

“Lastly if you have to stay here be careful not to stay in a room to the front of the hotel as there is a cafe over the road which has a blaring television till late at night (but little or no customers!)”
