Sofitel Cairo Nile El Gezirah is lauded for its prime location with mesmerizing Nile views and proximity to local attractions, though noise levels can occasionally detract from the serenity. Guests consistently commend the hotel's diverse breakfast options and overall cleanliness. The atmosphere is a vibrant fusion of energy and elegance, yet some find the lobby music overpowering.
While the service garners accolades for attentiveness, experiences of unresponsiveness and inconsistency are noted. Rooms are comfortable with scenic vistas but could benefit from updates. Travelers are divided on value, facing unexpected charges conflicting with the appreciation for reasonably priced dining options.

I would highly recommend this hotel having just stayed for business for 10 days. It's location is superb with the Nile flowing by on both sides. It is a short walk or ride to Tahrir Square and also convenient to Zamalek's coffee shops and cafes. Check in was pleasant and efficient. The public areas are nice - care is taken with the fresh flower displays (having watched the florist at work one day), there is plenty of seating and it is non-smoking. The rooms are a good size and very clean. We had a pyramids view from our room as well as the Nile too. Everything is well appointed and is very comfortable. There is night noise from the boats on the river - but this is also heard in other hotels locally and seems to be a tricky problem to address. Some other reviews have had rooms that needed improvements; while this may be the case, our room was not at all in this category. Perhaps it had recently been worked on. The restaurants are good. Breakfast each morning on the terrace by the Nile was super with a great buffet to choose from. We used the Star area to sit outside each day along with the Window on the Nile bar. All are excellent. We also ate at Kebabgy which again is good. The pool is enjoyable and is very well served by lifeguards who expertly adjust parasols to keep everyone in shade who finds the sun too strong! The service is of a very high standard. Many of the staff seem to enjoy their work and this translates into very pleasant service and interactions with them. I would certainly stay here again.

From the moment we arrived, the service at Sofitel Cairo Nile El Gezirah was nothing short of excellent. We were warmly greeted by attentive staff who promptly took care of our luggage and welcomed us at reception. To our delight, we were surprised with an upgrade to a suite, which set the tone for an incredible stay. The suite was impeccably clean, stylish, and offered fabulous views from the balconies—truly a treat for the senses.
Our group of three friends enjoyed a buffet dinner at the hotel restaurant, which catered perfectly to all our preferences. The meals were diverse and absolutely delicious, satisfying every taste in our group. The next morning, breakfast was a highlight of our stay. It ticked every box, offering a vast array of options—from fresh, healthy juices to crepes, waffles, salads, and everything else you could dream of. The oat cappuccino, in particular, was the cherry on top for one of my friends and made for a perfect start to the day.
The local patisserie was an absolute gem, adding the icing on the cake to our stay. I couldn’t resist indulging in their divine macarons, which were simply delicious and a treat for the taste buds.
We spent the following day relaxing by the infinity pool, which was a serene escape. The pool staff provided great service; however, the bar staff could have been more attentive. It would have been nice if they approached us for drink orders upon our arrival, rather than us needing to seek them out. That said, the drinks and hot and cold mezze I ordered were delicious and added to the overall experience. One minor note: the grass in front of the infinity pool could use substantial trimming, as it detracted slightly from the aesthetic in photos.
To top off the impeccable service, I used the hotel taxi for my journey to the airport. It was a very clean vehicle, and the driver ensured I arrived in a timely manner—another plus that reinforced the hotel’s dedication to excellence.
Despite these small points, our time at Sofitel was, as always, wonderful. It felt like being back in Europe, with all the elegance and standards we value. This was particularly noticeable after staying at another hotel prior to Sofitel, which did not live up to European expectations. Thank you, Sofitel Cairo Nile El Gezirah, for making our stay unforgettable!

Clean tidy rooms and bathroom with all the amenities and the house keeper was great. The main restaurant Sud is wonderful, organized and full of fresh food from many kinds ,best espresso and Turkish coffee. All the chefs and sou chefs are tidy and clean with a smile and understanding, The waiters especially Mr. Mahmoud Ahmed is wonderful, prompt and friendly helpful from the heart service many tables at breakfast rapidly without boring he deserves appreciation. Also Mr. Abdelstar at Sud restaurant is moving every where with all the guests. The breakfast is the best. Mr. Ahmed at the front office helped me to get my room in 3 minutes. Only one problem in my room is the smell of a paint it needs fresh air by opening the window during cleaning the room. The bell man was kind. At Elkababgy restaurant at noon the food was good.

This hotel undoubtedly enjoys the best views of the city and the Nile. As platinum members we were assigned room on the 24th floor (in all there are 27 floors) with total views of the Nile and beyond, in fact with the clear sky the view ranged over the Pyramids of Giza and further to the right on Saqquara. We were also offered access to Club Millesime. The room had a balcony (the opening of the access door at this height is on request), the photographs of the All app do not do justice to the decor, a bit dated the bathroom. Very comfortable bed and pillows. The lobby overlooking the Nile is simply spectacular, as are the exteriors, equipped with terraces practically almost infinity with the river. Cleanliness is spotless everywhere and the staff is of an exquisite kindness, no one excluded. You can also enjoy a wide choice of restaurants, from international to other themed. The hotel also has a limousine service, obviously more expensive than the cost of a taxi (which must be called directly by the customer) but even in this case everything is impeccable and you will be provided with the contact number to fix the time of the return trip. My stay was perfect! Thank you for your professionalism.

I have been staying at this hotel for years. A magical place on the Nile, simply because of its geographical location at the tip of a small island. The water flows past the hotel on the left and right. Every room has a view of the Nile. The most beautiful rooms are panoramic, and the manfique rooms are on the upper floors. It's worth it! This time I received an exceptional welcome. Flowers in the room, a bowl of fruit, Arabic pastries and French chocolates - overwhelming! In the Club Millesime on the 16th floor, guests are looked after in a family atmosphere for a small extra charge, with particular attention and warmth. In the evening you are invited to an aperitif with small snacks. Breakfast can also be taken in the club. This time, however, I was once again at the large breakfast buffet on the ground floor in the Casa Mia with a Nile terrace right on the water. Wonderful! The selection is hard to beat. You can have breakfast here from almost all cultures. The restaurants are excellent! My favorite place is Kebabgy. Here, only Oriental and Egyptian cuisine with warm flatbread is prepared fresh in front of our eyes. Various mezze are also served. Delicious! At the infinity pool, you feel like you are swimming out into the Nile. Everywhere in the house you can feel the hospitality and the passion to be there for the guest. Every visit is always an experience!

Our stay at SofitelCairo has been nothing short of exceptional. We have been amazed with the level of service received from all staff, ranging from security checkpoint staff all the way to Room attendants. A special thank you to the staff of the Millesime club particularly the manager Mahmoud and the chef Gomaafathy. They learned what we liked, and did their best to beat our expectations every day! Another special thank you to the Pool staff and particularly Ahmet and Ibrahim. When we finished, assuming session, they were always there with towels. as well as being very attentive to our lounges and shade requirements.
The food at Sofitel is delicious, and I would recommend everyone to enjoy the buffet breakfast as well as the Friday brunch with live music. Both offer excellent value for money with a wide selection of delicious dishes.
The hotel location is amazing as it stands at the tip of an island with direct access to the Nile River.I would recommend for people to choose clubrooms with panoramic Nile view as they offer a Vue to die for.
The only negative would be the rooms which are a little dated. However, the bed is incredibly comfortable and the room has all the amenities you can expect such as a big television, a Nespresso maker, a safe and a hair dryer.
Should we go back to Cairo, we would definitely stay at the Sofitel again.

The Sofitel Nile El Gezirah is a historic gem that truly captures the essence of Cairo. Its prime location along the Nile River is simply unbeatable, offering stunning views and a serene ambiance. The staff were incredibly attentive and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable. A special mention goes to their thoughtful gesture of providing a complimentary cake for our 15th wedding anniversary – it was a lovely touch. While the furnishings could benefit from a refresh, the overall cleanliness and elegance of the hotel are undeniable. The variety of excellent restaurants on-site is also a major highlight. I highly recommend the Sofitel Cairo Nile El Gezirah for a luxurious and unforgettable stay in Cairo.

My stay at Sofitel Cairo El Gezirah was overall a wonderful experience. The hotel boasts an excellent location right in the heart of Cairo, offering stunning views of the Nile River. The hotel's design is elegant and refined, reflecting a high level of luxury and comfort.
One of the highlights of my stay was the Executive Lounge. The service there was exceptional, especially thanks to Mr. Mohamed and Ms. Doaa, who were always attentive and made sure that every guest felt well taken care of. My experience in the Executive Lounge was truly outstanding due to their professionalism.
However, unfortunately, there was one negative aspect that impacted my experience. On Sunday morning, I was surprised to find that the water in my room was extremely dirty and unfit for use. This was unexpected in a hotel of this caliber and significantly affected my overall impression. After contacting Mr. Karim, he informed me that there were maintenance works being carried out, but it was strange that I was not informed about the maintenance in advance, especially considering that such works could cause issues. I was not given any notice to take precautions.
Overall, I would still recommend the hotel, but I would advise management to address the water quality issue in the rooms and ensure that guests are properly informed about any maintenance works that may affect their comfort.

The stay was so far fine, last year we had a normal room with access to Club Milesime. This year we had a prestige suite with club access. Well the room service last year at Karim was wonderful. This year in the suite, well paper towels were off, wc paper ran out.....had to leave a note at the bed asking to leave these things there. Man had to ask for everything. Before my arrival I receive an email asking me to fill it out, to announce special requests. I did, wanted to cover only two in the double bed instead of one big one, in the minibar I wanted to have Zero or Diet Coke and finally I wanted to have the German channel in the Tv, which is also listed, which already did not exist last year. So we arrive, get the room cards, I paid in advance. No special requests were fulfilled, why am I being asked????? We were always at la Madeleine at lunchtime, you can sit nicely on the Nile, if you are lucky you are also served. The ladies just don't come, I wave, clap, nööö she only serves the compatriots. Pffff it's hard to find someone to serve you. Praising I have to mention that it was great at the club milesime as always, you are served and the gentlemen are very friendly and attentive. Also the breakfast at milesime is wonderful. This year I booked a suite, wasn’t exactly cheap and on December 24th there wasn’t even a Christmas plate, like last year. Someone must have knocked and given us a note with a Merry Christmas. I pay more every year and get less and less seems to me. It could also be renovated because the suite seemed a bit worn out to me.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary there and everything was perfect! The staff was very available and attentive to all our requests, they made our stay even more memorable, thank you! The room (on the 14th overlooking Nile and pyramids) was quite large and clean; we were also able to take advantage of the balcony to admire a magnificent sunset. Special mention to the terrace overlooking the Nile and the swimming pool, ideal for cooling off after hours of wandering around the city center.
