Beautiful hotel. As a Hilton diamond member, we had a private checkin (assisted by Heba, Ahned, and Rehab) and access to the executive lounge. Delicious food was provided all day. Ahmed Abdelmoneam, Ahmed (the chef) and the other servers were friendly and provided excellent service. Beautiful pool and gorgeous view of the Nile. Road noise could be heard in the rooms.

Hotel's Favorite
My wife and I spent six nights at the Conrad Cairo. The hotel exceeded our expectations in a number of ways. 1. The temporary executive lounge set up had great service from all of the staff. They went out of their way to accommodate us. 2. The food in the executive lounge was more than one could expect. We have traveled worldwide and consider the food that they offer in their lounge to be the best that we have experienced with a full dinner being offered each evening in addition to drinks. 3. The breakfast offered a nice variety of food. 4. The workout room had a lot of equipment and was very good. 5. The staff at the hotel went above and beyond to make sure all of our needs were met. 6. The inhouse Casino and bank were nice additional features. Overall, we would definitely recommend Conrad Cairo to anyone staying in Cairo. As world wide travelers, we would say the service here ranks at the top of our experiences.

-3 nights, solo. King deluxe Nile view, breakfast not included. -Arrival at the property – bellhop unloaded my bags and placed on scanner belt. -Somehow the concierge knew it was me checking in. He walked toward me and introduced himself and took me to the check-in desk at the ‘lounge’. During check-in, I was given an explanation of my benefits. And received apologies for the executive floors not being open due to renovation. After check-in, I was escorted to my room. Bags arrived separately. (The concierge did mention that the lounge attire was business casual, i.e. no shorts. I had no issue with that, but it certainly was not enforced, including people with their bare feet lying on the couches during meal time.) -I was assigned room 703 (see floor layout). Room was actually two rooms – 705 being the bedroom and full bath and 703 was everything else. Room included a kitchen, ½ bath, full living room, and a balcony off of the living room with a full view of the river and a smaller balcony off of the bedroom with a good view of the river. Both balconies were furnished with two chairs and a table. Room was very dated in terms of furnishings, carpeting, fixtures, etc. but I don't care about such things. Bed was comfortable, room and water temperature were adjustable. My only complaint was that the towels were of midrange hotel quality and that instant coffee provided. -The temporary lounge was in one of the meeting rooms on the 1st floor. It was setup with a good amount of seating in an efficient layout – some chairs and tables and some sofas and easy chairs with coffee tables. The lounge was open for breakfast and a light dinner service. Breakfast was from a staff-served buffet and included eggs cooked to order. The light dinner was also a staff-served hot and cold buffet and had no repeat items on each of the three nights. Two alcoholic drinks – beer or Egyptian wine - were included. The entire lounge staff was fantastic. Unbeknownst to me, and I know the lounge manager did not advise me at check-in, there was also some fresh food available at lunch time. Not a big deal since I was out each day. I only found this out when I went to checkout around 1 PM. I did ask for and received a bottle of water each time I left the lounge. -Pool was quite nice. Pool staff observed customers approaching and brought towels and setup the umbrella however you wanted. The only downside was that there was just one waiter for the pool bar and he never had a break. Took awhile to get his attention, but once delivered, the gin and tonic and food were decent. -Checkout was straightforward. -Only one pet peeve. The front desk has no small bills for change or so claimed. I wanted 50 EGP (or less) notes in exchange for 100 EGP notes so that I could tip. Everyone has hands out for tips; it is what it is. I asked on two occasions, and staff was checking their wallets, purses, bellhops, etc. for change. Once a staff member went downstairs to the ‘bank’ for me. There is a full-service bank on the ground floor in a commercial area and change was readily available. - The property has a wide security perimeter. There are a number of gates, vehicle inspections, uniformed and plainclothes armed officers, as well as military-like personnel patrolling the property as well as the outer perimeter as well as all of the tourist areas. -I thought I took a picture of the floor plan; apparently I did not. But the room was a corner room; if you are facing the property, on the left front corner. - All in all, this was a great property for a few days. Staff was truly appreciative of my being there - 'tell all of your American friends to come to Egypt' - things are still difficult re: tourism. I would presume that most of the hotel guests were relatively local. This is a good property to base yourself to tour some of the more central Cairo sites. I did all of that on my own; just used Uber. That said, I had to return the morning after checkout to pickup my COVID test result and I noticed four full-size tour buses in the driveway – that was a good sign.

The Conrad Cairo is by far the best hotel for me when staying in Cairo. Overlooking the Nile river and only a short drive away from Tahrir sq (downtown). The hotel is undergoing a renovation at the moment (which is done quite discrete) and though most of the rooms may look a little old fashioned nowadays, some are already renovated and have become very modern! Service is really great as one might expect at a Conrad hotel. But besides that every one is trying to make you feel right at home in which they do succeed very well. I love staying here. The hotel has a very good and hospitable general manager. There is also one person I like to mention in particular, the hotel’s chief concierge (Amr). Never met a concierge that was so good and passionate in his/ her work as Amr is. He is a very friendly man, pleasant to talk to and a great help with all kind of problems and questions. He is simply the best! Can fully recommend this hotel!
