We stayed at the Windsor for 7 nights and were very pleased. This was my first stay at the Windsor although I have visits Cairo many times since 1983. I selected the Windsor for this trip for a variety of reasons. I am familiar with the neighborhood, located on Alfi Bey Street conveniently within 20 minute walk to Egyptian museum.... More

OK the Monty Pyton team and Karl Pilkington stayed here. It's quirky and well worth a visit. The bar can be very smoky but the place is like something from another age. We didn't stay here but went for drinks and to admire the furnishings.

Mina, Our amazing tour guide recommended me this Hotel to stay at during my stay in Egypt. It is very unique hotel, you fell that you are living in a classic Movie! It has charming bar, the oldest elevator in egypt and even the furniture is very antique. It is located in downtown close to the museum & khan el... More

I've wanted to visit Cairo since I was a little boy. When I finally got round to making my dream happen, I spent hours researching for the perfect hotel for the experience. I decided on the Windsor and was not disappointed. I've stayed at a lot of very high end hotels around the world, and one thing that always struck... More

The Windsor is a classic old hotel. It was an annex to Shepherd's Hotel where anyone who was anybody stayed. When I visited in 2001 it was like Back to the Future in reverse. It was a time warp. The elevator had a wrought-iron doors and had to be run by an attendant! The bar was reminiscent or an English... More

Ideally located, the Windsor is just round the corner from Ataba underground station at the lower end of busy 26th of July Street and also in walking distance to Tahrir Square and the famous Egyptian Museum. The staff and management were absolutely fantastic and made our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We very much appreciated the very personal yet professional touch.... More

What a fantastic forgotten gem. Bags of character, really friendly staff, and a wonderful colonial style bar. Samir the fixer, trip arranger, and genial host was great, the trip he sorted for us to Giza and Sakkara was first class, and all for $30!!! The guide he supplied was charming and so knowledgeable. We are coming back.

This is a good hotel. The managers are very friendly. I loved the Egyptian dishes in the restaurant. Probably there is such history here. A mystery. The bed was ok - room very clean. Nice bathroom. Re location if you turn right and then turn left there are lots of stores, a cafe, avenues for many stores. Egypt is an... More

The Windsor hotel is in a great location in Cairo, friendly staff in a beautiful building. We stayed for a few drinks at the bar would recommend dropping by for a drink and to look at the old interior decor.
