Its my 3rd time staying at the Ramses. I love the location within walking distance of the Egyptian Museum, Nile River, Taher Square and lots of food options. Of course, you have to cross the streets some and that is quite an adventure. Super easy to catch a cab outside of the hotel property (its cheaper than the hotel cabs, if you like that sort of thing). The hotel staff is really, really helpful. The concierge (Mr. El Ezz) went out of his way to provide suggestions and work with our next hotel in Luxor on a few things. Finally, cash exchange downstairs is convenient and is the same exchange rate as anywhere else. Normally, that is not the case in a hotel.
I booked for 3 nights, the hotel has the same beautiful old charm that you feel it once you enter in. I must say I was worried about the Covid-19 but we were very impressed with the measures the management has taken to keep residents safe and sound. I’ve had a suggestion to them and the manager rang me personally to respond, an example of good business- customers relationship that Hilton has adopted. Food was excellent, tasty and delicious, we’ve had regular breakfast and dinner at Breezes Restaurant. Room are excellent, very clean and cosy. Pool is very good and well maintained, food is as excellent as you expect from Hilton. The staff ( restaurant and Receptionest, domestic) despite the hardship on the economy as a result of Covid-19 were very cheerful , happy, welcoming and polite. Nothing is too much for them , they do their uttermost to help and comfort guests. I stayed on top floor , room 3021 with a wonderful Nile View. I would recommend Nile view room, worth paying a little extra. Staff are very good with children. Thank you Hilton, well done. I will definitely come back again in the very near future. …
I can easily sum up why this hotel is the best in Cairo with just one name; the concierge Mr. Wafa! The Ramses Hilton has wonderful restaurants, pleasant rooms with great views of the Nile river, a convenient bank on the lobby floor, and a spa with excellent massages, but the most amazing part was being cared for by Mahmoud Wafa! He is by far the most fabulous concierge I have ever known in any country or state of the USA! He made me and my sister feel cared for like family with his knowledge, his eagerness to help, his explanations to tourists like us who were new to Egypt, his advice that helped us save money and time, he made us feel completely safe and have the most incredible time, and he made us feel like true VIPs!! He even went way out of his way to find us in one of the restaurants of the hotel to ensure we got our next booking at the Hilton in Luxor set up just right. This was after he had already taken the time to make phone calls to make sure we got our train reservation set up just right. He then personally escorted us to the front of the hotel so he could give specific instructions to the taxi driver to take us to the train station. I felt humbled that he took such care of us! Wow! We can’t wait to come back and stay at this hotel where I can feel at home and experience Egypt again knowing that our hero, Mr. Wafa is there! …
I got scammed by this hotel! Was charged 1500 Egyptian pounds or $100 USD for 2 rum and cokes at the bar there. I was not told about the drink cost until I got the bill. When I asked if the bill was a mistake I was told it was not. I'm not sure if they tried to use expensive rum to charge me more but I was only asked if I wanted white or dark rum in the drinks. Not if I wanted ridiculously rum. Those same drinks were $17 dollars a piece at the Hilton in Dubai. Besides that the hot water in shower did not work and the WIFI was incredibility slow. Only thing this hotel has is nice staff. Not a 5 star hotel by any means. Stay somewhere else!
I would like to thank all in Ramses Hilton. Mrs. Fatima, Ms. Reymonda and Lady Check-in with me but I can't remember her name sorry from the Reception Mr. Ezzat from Breakfast Restaurant Thanks for choosing this amazing room with wonderful view Thank you Ramses Hilton
