MADINA means CITY in Arabic. That is because we love our stunning city - CAIRO.

Welcome! We established Madina Hostel in 2020 with the aim of providing a social, safe, hassle-free and affordable space for solo travelers, couples, and groups.

Our contemporary design provides the perfect environment to take a break from a long day spent in Cairo in one of the three common areas. Socialize and laugh with fellow travelers, plan your itineraries over a free cup of coffee or cook together in the large fully-equipped kitchen.

Ideally located in the heart of vibrant Downtown Cairo, discover a haven of the local culture scene, lively cafes, restaurants, bars and beautiful architecture just outside of our doorsteps. We are right next to Tahrir Square, the Egyptian Museum and the Nile and in walking distance to the main bus station and the subway and a short taxi ride away from the train station.

Our 25 comfy beds are split in private rooms and two dorms. Breakfast & Linen included.

Calling it a hostel is a bit reductive but calling it a hotel is perhaps a bit much. it is an excellent middle ground managed by smiling and helpful guys and well looked after both in the common areas and in the rooms. obviously it has its flaws such as the daily cleaning of the rooms, the wifi not always working or the typical breakfast which however has no alternatives but also advantages such as the large rooms, the comfortable beds and above all the cleanliness in general. The location is great just a few minutes walk from the Egyptian museum. So I recommend it without hesitation

Excellent vibe with budget staying. If you’re looking for a cozy little spot to stay in the center of Cairo, Madina is def one of your choices. The staff there are with great management ability, juggling balls while sharing care to almost each person staying.

Not sure if it’s mismatch from the platform booking was made, we booked room with 2 beds even paid higher than normal price(a bit lost minute booking), still ended up with a room with 1 bed :/

Great value!! Nice facilities! Clean, modern, cool rooms with air conditioning!! The balcony was fun and the staff was friendly. A great alternative to the expensive hotels. They offered tours around Cairo that would have been worth it because navigating Cairo on your own is not advisable or enjoyable.

We were pleasantly surprised by this unusual hotel.
The room was clean and we appreciated the walk-in shower. The welcome was friendly and the staff took great care of the customers and prepared hearty Egyptian breakfasts for us.
If the opportunity presented itself, we would not hesitate to return.
Thank you so much.

We spent a fantastic week at Madina hostel. We had a family room (2 parents and our two children) with a shared bathroom which was just next door. The whole hostel has been redone recently and is super nicely designed and finished. It has a really homely feel with a fully functional kitchen if you want to prepare food, two sitting areas and a small terrace. I found space to do yoga early in the mornings too. The hostel is on the 10th floor with lots of light and is just off Tahrir square which is a great location for many things. Mustapha and all the team are helpful and fun and really interesting to chat to. The room price included an excellent breakfast too. One of our favorite hostels in a year's travel in 15 countries!

A good choice within the city. The hostel is on a very well suited 10th floor and with a nice design. The private rooms are spacious, the bathrooms clean with a nice design. The common areas very comfortable.

The access by the hall and the elevator are scary, you think the place will be a disappointment but quite the opposite.

Friendly staff, usually smoke outside the flat, which is a little uncomfortable when leaving the elevator. Very attentive to any requirement and always with a smile. They let us keep our bags while we traveled for the day to another city, allowed us to stay in the living room resting until our room was ready.

We did not have the best experience taking the tours we were recommended. However, we remained calm as it was a dream to know the city and its culture.

I stayed here during my recent trip to Cairo. The hostel is located downtown in a very safe neighborhood close to Tahr Square, the Convention center and the museum. It’s very well organized and run. They make sure guest are well taken care of and it’s very clean and a friendly atmosphere.

I had one of my best experineces in this place, the staff are welcoming friendly and you end up being friends with them sitting on the bench at night talking about life. For a solo travaler thats a perfect place to stay in because its placed on the heart of cairo so you won't have trouble finding anything. Have fun.

I think this is pretty new but cannot recommend enough! The staff were extremely friendly and spoke flawless English. We were also extremely grateful for the early check in to our room when we arrived on an overnight train from Luxor. We had room 4 and wow, what a view from the private balcony! Awesome value for money, clean, spacious comfortable and again, fantastic staff. Great location close to Tahrir Square and Downtown attractions.

Highly recommend this little gem. Thanks so much guys.

Hi Kristine, Yes we offer both. Airport transfer can be organized at any time of the day and night (also that we have a 24/7 reception) and we do offer trips all over Egypt. You might contact us via email and we'd be happy to forward more information! Many greetings, the Madina hostel team
