My partner and I went to visit Alexandria in Feb'17, reaching the hotel quite late (9+) good location. Good service by the friendly staff, they also prepared a map with places of interest with estimated distant and cab fare. Morning serves very good breakfast. Worth the stay, love it. Our room was just beside St Catherine.

Nice hotel. Good location close to various attractions. Very friendly and helpful staff. We had the most marvellous time in Egypt! Staying at the Alexander hotel was wonderful! The owners were friendly and so helpful. From picking us up at the airport, to taking us into the Egyptian marketplace and authentic non commercialised areas of town. That alone gave us...

The most important thing is the location of this hotel. It's central and you can go wherever you want in a short time. Most of the places you come to visit are around, close and easy to get. I like the tours and taxis services of the hotel and the booking as well.

A brilliant location and ideal backpacker spot, I really enjoyed this place and appreciated the owner and staff did not give me the hard sell of tours or extras which other hotels did, although the prices quoted seemed very good. The beds are very comfortable and shockingly for downtown you do not hear the traffic in the rooms. Negative points...

We arrived in Cairo at 6:30am but were not able to check-in until 12pm. This should have been made clear before we arrived as the hostel was aware of our flight time. Also, the hostel tried to charge us for the supposedly free airport pick-up on more than one occasion, not to mention rip us off by arranging trips for...

Alexander hotel has a great communal area, where you have breakfast, watch TV and can watch the world from the small balcony. It is right on the road, like all the small hotels I have seen in Cairo and has a great atmosphere. Rooms adequately do the job and are clean. Much nicer than most of the hotels and hostels...

“If possible, choose a room which is the farthest away from the common room and reception desk. This will help you get a better sleep, as these rooms are quieter, and you will more removed from the cigarette smoke which permeates the air.”
