We had the best week aboard this ship.
We went 7th Jan and the crew had made a real effort to make the ship look Christmassy! It looked fabulous, so we felt like we had an extended festive period which was fan !
This was a family holiday and we took our Autistic teenage son and the staff on board could not have been better with us. All the staff from the restauraunt to room service were very friendly and cheery and made us feel very welcome and relaxed. As a family of vegetarians we never struggled to eat, there was always a good variety of food and knowing my son would mainly only eat pasta, they cooked him a batch especially each day with extra cheese just for him.
The ship itself may look out dated compared to some we saw but that was the charm, it's spotless, always very clean and we loved the art deco vibes.
A few guests had birthdays while we were there and the staff came out with cakes and did a song and made a fuss of the person, it was lovely!
We didn't take part in the entertainment but they always had something on each night. We did take part in cocktail night with a free cocktail.
Drinks were not included in our full board but prices were not unreasonable, probably near enough what you'd pay at home.
My only comment is that they could utilise the kitchen on the top deck more.
We did have afternoon tea up there but generally it was unused most of the time. It would have been great if they used it more and offered snacks and drinks up there. If course you could akways order in the bar downstairs anything you needed. To be honest with 3 huge meals per day, snacks were not really needed !
All in all a fab stay and woukd definitely stay again on this ship.

Perfect cruise! The ship is very beautiful. The cabins are elegant and always kept well cleaned by the excellent staff, who do room cleaning even 2 times a day. The food is very good and they offer a wide choice of meat, fish, pasta, vegetables and desserts. In the evening there is great entertainment at the bar. All the staff are kind and friendly and you pass to never miss anything: despite lunch is from 13:00 (1:00 pm) to 15:00 (3:00 pm), returning from Aswan we were late and we returned by ship at 15:30 (3:30 pm) and they kept the restaurant open after hours, so we did not miss lunch!

This is a wonderful cruise ship! It is decorated in an elegant style. The beds are very comfortable and rooms are large for a ship. Our housekeepers were very kind and made elaborate towel art for us every day. The food was delicious! The roof deck has a nice sitting area with a bar and pool. My new friend Mahmoud, was especially kind in the bar and opened early to make me delicious coffee.

This is more a 3 star ship, like old Carnival or Royal Carebbean ships. The bed is hard as a rock. My wife complained all the trip. The carpet, furniture is dated
Food is average to good. It is a buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner. No table service. Drinks are priced at US prices - $4 for a Coke and $6 for a beer.
The staff is very attentive and help everyway they can. Laundry was very inexpensive about $1 per shirt - wash and press. After 10 days on HOT Egypt we had lots of laundry.
The cost-benefit was very good.

Room Tip: Take ear plugs, as the vendors on boats follow the ship and makes lots of noise.

This boat was booked by Exoticca Tours and I was told that Exoticca owns the ship (not sure if that is true). But I can say that this ship was old and worn and not worthy of a 4 star. At best I would give this boat two stars. The Staff was top notch, but the facility was old and tired. We got a double room that was poorly converted to a full size bed. The food was good, but in general the ship was 20 years old without any updates. Rooms on the upper two decks were much nicer than the 2nd floor-main deck - I honestly wound not recommend this boat - the quality of the room was not made up by the staff and food. Find a newer boat for your cruise.

We were on a package tour in Egypt and booked on another cruise that was overbooked so relocated to this cruise. The boat is very dated and that included the rooms, dining room and pretty much everything on board. The wifi was limited and not reliable. We were advised we would get 2 bottles water per day. They started with 2, then the next day went to 1, then the following day to none. When we asked for the water they advised we would not be getting anymore water. The food is buffet for all meals and pretty much the same each meal with no flavour…very bland. They also charge you for any and all drinks at lunch and dinner including water. Brought the failure to provide water to our room to the attention of our tour operator. The manager called and agreed to meet us the next day. He failed to show. Nothing redeeming on this cruise. Stay away.

We cannot recommend chateau Lafayette highly enough.
Travelling from the UK to Egypt March 2024, we had some worries about our trip, however just landing in Cairo airport quickly put these fears to rest. The Egyptian people are so friendly and their hospitality and want for tourists to see their historic country is evident from the first moment.
This was even more so with Chateau Lafayette.
We were met at Aswan airport by a representative and we were not left to organise anything ourselves again until our train left the platform after our last night. We were given lots of relaxation time and time to explore ourselves if we wanted, however they made sure this was done in a safe way. Each and every member of the Chateau Lafayette team went above and beyond the hospitality we would expect to make our stay unforgettable. We cannot think of a better way to explore this incredible country and history than onboard this ship.
We had the perfect balance of exploration, adventure and relaxation. To sit aboard a boat, in a swimming pool whilst sailing along the Nile seeing animals, people, houses, farmland is incredible.
Couple this with stops along the way to explore ancient historic sites which are breathtaking makes for the perfect holiday.
We had the privilege of our guide Shenouda. His knowledge on ancient Egypt and his ability to tell a story fascinated us and we became obsessed with the stories of the Gods and the Kings. His knowledge of the sites allowed us to do these experiences with none of the usual frictions which can really ruin a visit. He knew the perfect order to see the sites, where and when it would be too busy/too hot to make sure we saw everything. We noticed the difference once we left doing other experiences on our own, the passion he brought to the sites and the knowledge made it so much more exciting, but the hassle we got when we were not with him and the mistakes we made of timings/order around the sites etc made other visits less fun so we can not recommend Shenouda highly enough.
The boat was clean, well looked after. The team were kind, fun and friendly and looked after us so well. Everyone on board was having a great time and everyone got on well due to the happy vibe of the staff.
This is an experience not to be missed and we will be singing the praises of Chateau Lafayette to anyone who will listen. Thank you for an unforgettable holiday. We will definitely return in the future!

We took this enjoyable Nile cruise from Aswan to Luxor, Egypt. The boat had the stunning classical look of golden staircases and red carpets worthy only of dignitaries.

The food, facilities, entertainment and customer service exceeded our expectations.

I am specifically forever grateful to the staff. Thank you, Madeline, for helping me with the reservations.

Thank you Mohamed Sultan, and George for taking care of every detail. You made us feel that we were the most important guests on the boat.

Lastly our thanks goes to Chef Omar for all the delicious dishes and responding to our requests!

I will definitely come back to Chateau Lafayette. And I highly recommend it to my friends and family.

Cruise from Aswan to Luxor. The motorboat is not very new, but well maintained. Cleanliness is one of their strong points, as is the kindness and helpfulness of the staff. Varied cuisine with a wide choice, times for visits and navigation are also well organised.

Incredibly efficient staff, nothing was too much trouble for them. Very clean and pleasant atmosphere. Even though I was taken ill on this trip, I must send my thanks to the restaurant manager who went out of his way to look after me. During service, he even got the kitchen to make an omelette for me. Would definitely recommend
