This is probably the best hotel choice close to Cairo International Airport, less than 10 minutes away by taxi / limousine (fare less than 10 USD). The hotel is low rise and looks unattractive from the outside, but inside it is a comfortable, well managed oasis.
As a Diamond member, I was upgraded to a terrace room, which was compact but well furnished, with large flat screen TV and Nespresso coffee maker. The bathroom was also quite small with a walk in shower (no tub) and bidet (but no water spray).
The room highlight was the private terrace, with views of the expansive gardens and pool area. The hotel even has a family of peacocks in its garden oasis.
Breakfast was quite good, but not as extensive as other 5 star buffets I'd had in Cairo.
Service was excellent throughout, with staff all helpful and keen to please. A particular thanks should go to Mr Emil on reception who treated me like a VIP. Check in and out were both quick and efficient.
While perhaps not the best location for leisure visitors, the Hilton Heliopolis is a great choice for short business trips, especially if you need to be near the airport.

Overall we had a great stay at the Hilton Heliopolis.
Check in on arrival was a little disappointing - arrived at midnight only to be told our rooms (interconnecting double and twin) were not ready, despite us having emailed to reconfirm our arrival time.
Rooms were comfortable if a little dated. Breakfast was good - large variety on offer.
Excursions organised via the concierge were excellent.
Great choice of restaurants in the hotel, we would recommend the Lebanese and Tepanyaki ones especially.
Like many Middle Eastern hotels the whole building did smell of smoke as smoking is allowed in most areas. No-smoking zones are adjacent to smoking areas with no barriers so smell does spread. Air fresheners in hallways help but left with our clothes smelling of cigarettes.
Pool area was only partly open but pool staff and catering team around the pool were excellent.

We stayed at the Hilton Heliopolis for three nights, half of our time in Cairo. It was convenient for the airport (5 minutes away, which was convenient for a morning flight to Casablanca when leaving and we had a day trip by flight to Luxor that left very early on one of the days). It is also convenient to the big (7 story) City Stars Mall.
The lobby is great and there are many fantastic restaurants. We ate at the Indian and the French restaurants as well as the breakfast buffet one day. There are many others- Asian, Italian, Egyptian, etc. The food we had at the hotel was all great. The one weird moment was that as we were checking out at 5 AM, the front desk clerk encouraged us to go grab something to go from the breakfast area, so we went to grab some pastries to go but the restaurant manager told us “no” and insisted we should not be there before 6. It was a little embarrassing, since we were told to go and then shooed away as if we did something wrong.
The pools at the Hilton Heliopolis were nice and one was well heated (like a bathtub). It was awesome. We also were able to use the spa- deep tissue massages, sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi. Ghada at the front desk of the spa was awesome!
There was a wedding or party one night, which was extremely loud and late, but I had packed ear plugs so we all slept fine.
The only downside to the Hilton Heliopolis were the rooms. I was told that the rooms we originally selected Terrace rooms, but were told before arrival that all terrace rooms are smoking. I asked them to change us to whatever nonsmoking rooms they had and they gave us executive pool view. The rooms were so small, especially our King room. I haven’t been in a hotel room anywhere in the world that small other than in New York City. The twin room that my son’s shared was a bit larger. The King room was soooo cramped. I was really surprised. The bed was also terrible- sunken down. We actually considered checking out and heading elsewhere, but elected to sleep sideways on it on nights 2 and 3, which was better.
Overall, I would say the Heliopolis is worth a stay due to the property itself, but they really need to modify the beds.

We stayed at Hilton Cairo Heliopolis . Little that we know that we entered a piece of paradise with its spectacular design , cleanliness , atmosphere and when you just think it’s great that way , wait till you witness the utmost professionalism and smiles of all the staff since we stepped in starting from the door greeter , passing by the butler service , front desk , restaurants and chefs . Everyone there wants you to have a wonderful time . They look so amazing , professional , well put together . They speak English well . They smile all the time . They always ask you if you are enjoying your stay or you want anything . They always wish you to have a good day . On a way I truly felt that I am not in Egypt neither at any of the high end hotels we have been to in many countries around the world . The one that I could relate to when it came to amazing service is Taj Mahal hotel in India however this one is super bright and clean . It’s a must try if you would like to stay in Cairo . Food is spectacular . I could not mention everyone’s names that were great because all of them were . God bless the management and staff of this hotel . I really like how close this Hilton is to the airport. I accidentally paid $20 because my Uber app was acting up. Uber is really the cheapest way to get around but make sure you bring cash because they don’t use credit for Uber. You will thank me later. The property is huge with lots of amenities and restaurants to choose from. The gym is adequate and Mohammed was onsite to help me stretch after I finished my workout. They have different themes for the restaurant to try different menus. My only problem was my bedroom because it was a little dated and smelled musty and like someone had smoked, even though it was a smoke free room. That was really my only complaint and the reason that I gave it 4/5 stars. I would definitely recommend and come again because I didn’t get a chance to lounge around, since I had all day activities every day. Make sure you bring new bills because they don’t like the older US bills. November was the best month to come because the weather was a perfect 75 - 81 and sunny.

The hotel overall is definitely for the business person. From the outside it really needs to be updated. Once you enter the hotel is nice. Nice big lobby with many restaurants. The service people are considerate and helpful. The rooms were ok, hallway on the 6th floor was in severe need of being vacuumed daily. The beds were extra comfortable.
Probably the biggest issue was we got a room overlooking the pool and every night there was a hotel function. Music played every night until at least 11:00 pm. On our last night it was like a concert behind the pool. The hotel should've informed us prior to checking in that poolside rooms are not good for trying to get some sleep before 12:00 am. It would've been nice to change rooms for less noise.
