Steigenberger Hotel El Tahrir Cairo garners high marks for its cleanliness and vibrant atmosphere, with travelers consistently commending the modern, well-kept rooms and the hotel's lively ambiance, complete with live music. While the central location earns praise for its convenience to attractions and transport, some guests have expressed concerns regarding noise from the bustling streets. The array of amenities, including a pool, spa, and gym, enhance the guest experience, although there are occasional calls for replenishment of room supplies. Rooms are generally spacious and comfortable, yet some visitors report issues with noise and lighting. The hotel staff's friendliness and professionalism are frequently lauded, even though a few guests have encountered slow service. Despite some opinions of it being slightly expensive, many find the hotel to offer good value for its offerings.

The Steigenberger Tahrir Cairo hotel was welcoming, with a beautiful ambiance and great decor. I'm a travel agent that traveled with a group of 10 individuals. We were greeting with a cold glass of fresh apple juice as we waited for our rooms to be assigned. The staff was engaging and accommodating to our needs. We felt like royalty. Each day the rooms were cleaned and towels replaced, trash cans emptied, sanitized, and 2 bottles of water was provided free each day with additinal bottles availablefor a charge.

Each day there was fun craft designed on the bed and they even organized our shoes while we were away. The food at the hotel restaurant was amazing and we had a lot of options because some of my group was vegan. We were very happy with the nightly entertainment and lounge experience. The vibratuin of the environment was great. The hotel was also very close to walking the downtown area in the center of many good food restaurants nearby.

The views were not the best but we felt safe with the gated property and security guards 24/hrs posted at the entrance. Right in the middle of the city but a really great experience.
We recommend The Steigenberger Tahrir Hotel's experience.

I booked this hotel as the hotel I booked that night was not up to standard and I promptly checked out. And I'm glad I did - the hotel is modern and clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. There is a security gate before you can enter the hotel which added peace of mind.

I only stayed the one night, and when I checked in (which was quite late), the person at reception (unfortunately I don't remember his name!!) upgraded me to the top floor!! That was very much appreciated, he said he wanted the one evening to be excellent for me - and it was.

The bathroom is modern and full of amenities. The room itself is clean, again with plenty of free amenities. I had an excellent night sleep here and am glad I booked this hotel!!

For the budget and price sensitive, this may be a bit expensive, however you get clean, modern and secure facilities right in the downtown of Cairo - where a lot of other hotels are not as modern or clean.

We chose the Steigenberger El Tahrir for its location directly across the street from Tahrir Square and the Egyptian Museum — and because in comparing its prices to those of similarly-rated downtown Cairo hotels, it appeared to be an excellent value. Despite some breakfast shortcomings, the Steigenberger delivered.

The staff also proved to be very gracious and flexible. The first room assigned to us was on the fourth floor directly overlooking the busy square toward the museum. Some people might look upon that view as a plus, but the constant honking of horns did not appeal to us. One call to the front desk soon had us on the 9th floor further removed from the constant commotion, and for that, we were very grateful. The rooms were clean and modern, smaller than those at the Giza Pyramids Steigenberger, but certainly appropriate to our room category in a major city.

The breakfast buffet options were plentiful, and the large staff worked very hard. But the omelet station was placed in a congested corner that made ordering, then retrieving, your order difficult, and the layout would benefit greatly from a change. Available tables were sometimes scarce, and some food items ran low at times before they were replenished. On the other hand, we greatly enjoyed having Egyptian beers and wines and light bites for dinner at their lobby lounge.

Breakfast matters notwithstanding, we felt very happy with our decision to stay here, and I fully recommend the Steigenberger as an excellent value worth considering as your downtown Cairo option. I would happily choose to stay there again.

Everything was exceptional. From the moment you arrive at Steigenberger you are greeted with happy staff welcoming you and ready at your disposal. They accommodated me last minute and I found an immaculate and quiet room waiting for me. The bed is super comfy and the facilities feel up-to-date. You'll have a great nights sleep here. There is a mini-bar for your inconvenience and daily room cleaning. The gym and sauna are amazing and a lovely roof-top pool with a bar. There is a bar serving alcohol on the ground-floor open all night and they serve food until pretty late, meaning you don't even need to leave the hotel for dinner after a long day of site-seeing. There are also live musicians at the bar most evenings and the bar staff are super-friendly, which is a plus for a solo-visitor. The food is all top-quality and the breakfasts are exceptional. There is even table service and they bring you cappuccinos on request. Breakfast is very well coordinated. The location is also premium as located downtown, which is a perfect starting-point for most tours, but also the Airport isn't too far away. Having breakfast start at 6am means you can actually take a day trip to Luxor via plane and still have breakfast at the hotel. Also there is the Egyptian Museum very close, which is well worth the visit, plus lots of local food options in the neighborhood.

Steigenberger Hotel El Tahrir seriously impressed me in all aspects. They are listed as a luxurious 4-star hotel, but actually exceed that in my onion, the kind of service you get from a 4 star in Dubai or Japan, but no-where else in the World.

We stayed at the Steigenberger el Tahrir hotel in Cairo seven nights and the experience was excellent. Firstly, for its location, next to Tahrir Square, in the heart of the city. Secondly, for its price (950 euros in total, including breakfast), suitable for a hotel of this category. And, thirdly, by the level of accommodation. Thus, it has a large entrance hall, where different types of services are provided. And our room, on the ninth floor, was spacious and to all standards of this category, replenishing water on a daily basis. In addition, breakfast, served in Downtown restaurant, was very complete. We also ate at it on several occasions, and the food was of excellent quality, and only needed to change the menu during these days, to have a greater variety. And, along with all this, we must highlight the friendliness and professionalism of all the hotel staff (reception, cleaning, restaurant, room service, security...), who made our stay very pleasant. A 10 for all of them. In short, it is a highly recommended option for a future visit to the chaotic but wonderful city of Cairo.

I have a wonderful stay at this hotel! When I arrived at 4 a.m. I was greeted with a warm welcome and freshly squeezed juice. The breakfast buffet offers an impressive selection of delicious options that vary daily and meet my tastes perfectly.

The hotel's restaurant not only impresses with its first-class food, but also with its affordable prices. The friendly and helpful staff with their infectious smiles always make me feel welcome.

The central location of the hotel allows me to easily explore Cairo on foot or by metro. I also appreciate the feeling of security provided by the special security staff.

The only small criticism is the noise from the street caused by cars honking and the dogs responding to it. Nevertheless, this cannot spoil my overall outstanding experience at this hotel so far.

Good location, comfortable firm beds with nice fluffy pillows. wifi is 8.00 MBPS download and 6.72 mbps upload. Staff were all very nice and helpful, they love Americans because we tip! $5 to housekeeping per day, $5 for bellhop! $1-2 for Doorman, They love US Dollars and Euros so be generous they don't make much for a salary! Rooms were clean but no Conditioner in shower, water pressure was low but it worked. Hotel is a little older but well maintained. Breakfast Buffett was good with lots of choices but we only did the Buffet($17 per person) once because there is a awesome cafe across the street on the corner and you can order a feast for like $6-10 a person cooked fresh and hot unlike a buffet line that's been sitting for hours. Uber is the mode of transport anywhere for a few dollars and if you're up for the metro its 3 blocks away(we passed). Plenty of great food and shopping just 5-10 minutes walk. Nice hotel worth about $100 a day for USA standards but we paid about $130 a night which was fine.

Excellent.
Trips as a couple, we did two nights during the holiday, in both cases the service was excellent on every aspect.
assigned rooms (9th and 2nd floor) spotless, friendly and professional staff, comfortable mattresses and pillows, large shower. present shampoo, bubble bath, various soaps, sewing kit, bagged toothbrushes and toothpaste, bathrobe, moreover, on arrival in the room, we found a bottle of water 1/2 liter per person and fruit, possibility to make tea and / or free coffee.
American breakfast from sweet to savory with so many different things, excellent and plentiful, you are spoiled for choice.
Very large and very central structure, adjacent Egyptian Museum, central to all other activities to do in the city, in a central and safe neighborhood sweet, paying much, much, much attention to only chaotic traffic and without rules... you can move on foot.

Dear Hotel Management,

During my recent stay at your establishment, I encountered a situation that unfortunately significantly impacted my perception of your hospitality. As a Muslim, it is important for me not to consume alcohol, and upon arrival, I requested the removal of alcoholic beverages from my minibar. Your staff handled this request with great professionalism; one employee not only removed the alcoholic drinks but also all soft drinks such as Coca Cola and Fanta, and carefully noted this down.

However, at checkout, I was faced with an unpleasant surprise. The receptionist, who identified himself as Mohamed, presented me with a list of consumed items from the minibar that included beer, wine, and various soft drinks. When I denied this, a repetitive process began where he asked me three times about the alcohol, which was quickly clarified after my wife confirmed that we do not drink alcohol. However, when the question about the soft drinks kept coming back, despite my repeated denials, I felt increasingly uncomfortable.

The situation escalated as the question of whether I had drunk cola was repeated no less than eight times, despite my clear statements that all soft drinks had been removed upon arrival and this had been recorded by your staff. It felt as though there was a suspicion of dishonesty towards me, which was very embarrassing in the public setting of your reception. The incident took about 45 minutes and became a source of great frustration, partly because the receptionist refused to consult the notes of his colleague who had recorded the removal.

This experience, where I felt unfairly treated and accused of dishonesty over a few cans of soda, has deeply disappointed me. I had expected that a reputable hotel like yours would show more trust and efficiency in handling such standard situations. It has led me to share my experiences with friends and family, and unfortunately, I cannot recommend they stay at your hotel.

I hope you take this matter seriously and take appropriate steps to improve your procedures and customer service so that future guests can enjoy a smoother and more respectful experience.

Kind regards,

As a first-time visitor to Egypt and a solo female traveler, I was very pleased with my stay at Steigenberger El Tahrir Square. I’d read all kinds of things about Cairo and safety for tourists and I wanted to stay somewhere where I felt safe, rather than a hostel or a cheap hotel. So I splurged and booked this hotel and was not disappointed. The staff are very attentive every step of the way, from the front desk to room service, to the concierges and waitstaff. There was always someone friendly and helpful nearby if I needed anything and they called me daily to check in and see if I had any feedback or needed anything. I can see how this might feel overwhelming for some travelers, but I greatly appreciated it as a woman traveling alone in a foreign country. It made me feel supported and looked after. I ordered room service a lot and the food did not disappoint! I also booked a private car (for 4 hours) through the hotel to see a few sights that weren’t included in the tours I booked and Mohamed Soliman was an amazing driver and taught me a lot about Egypt on my first day there! The hotel restaurant serves breakfast only, but it offers a delicious, wide array of foods, from eggs and sausages, to cheese and fruits, to pastries and cereal and even sushi. The waitstaff come around to fill and refill your water and coffee (it’s bottomless). I’d especially like to thank Asmaa and Menna for their exceptional service! Thank you also to the room service staff. You all truly made my stay so enjoyable and hassle-free!
