So found this cute little hotel on booking.com and we came over for the Olympics so spent the first few days touristing around Seoul. We got to choose our room (according to the rate we had paid) on arrival and opted for the White Room. It was cosy and clean and had a fantastic sunk-in shower! They supplied us with water each day and i think we should have asked for non-smoking but once we were settled in, we didnt want to move. The temperature in the room did get very uncomfortably hot at times, but we just cracked open the window. Big shout out to the Chef doing all the breakfasts by himself! It was great each day and he was very polite and humble. Location is OK - nearest metro is Nambu Bus Terminal, only a 5mins walk away, and this will get you easy connections all over.

I would never have found this hotel if it's wasn't for my friend whose a local to Seoul. It's quite unassuming when you arrive but really it's all about the rooms. Each of the suites has been designed to within an inch of their lives and whilst they won't be to everyone's taste, some are spectacular. To give you an example, one has a swimming pool, another a cinema, sauna and jaucuzzi, and another decorated just in white with a phenomenal balcony. Location wise, it's average, and breakfasts are poor. But the whole experience was one to remember.

We checked into the Forest Suite that came with a wide terrace, with a view of the buildings around. It is a smoking room. The bathroom was spacious and has all the amenities in large quantities. There is a rain shower and a bath tub. The beds are comfortable. Room comes with a samsung laptop and large TV. There is a kettle with tea and coffee. They also replenish the water bottles each morning. The rooms are quite large - villa style. The hotel is in Seocheo in a pretty quiet street. (WE slept well on all nights). They cleaned the room daily. The staff are very helpful. The hotel is a bit short staffed, maybe. Sometimes the room does smell badly (you get this in a lot of places in Seoul). There is no room service or laundry. but there is a laundry just opposite the hotel and he does a fine job. We stayed there for a total of 7 nights It is walking distance to Gangnam or a short taxi ride. THere are a few bars and restaurants around the area. A kimbob place just a few streets away, Korean BBQ and even Japanese Izakaya. If you are tired of the crowds in Gangnam this is quiet and yet lively. There is a 7 eleven and a home express not far from the hotel vicinity. We had a pleasant stay. It was not anything fancy, star like quality, but sufficient. I did peep into the other suites available, but didn't like the look of it, liked the Forest Suite.

We had our wedding after party here as Korean weddings do not traditionally have receptions attached to them. I called the hotel in advance to let them know that we would be having a party for 20 odd people which they were initially reluctant to allow. But I think I got them over the line because of the party hours of 2pm - 8pm would not be detrimental to other guests. For the party they were kind enough to provide us with two large bins for us to fill with ice and drinks. The room is three storeys with the first storey offering a sink, seating ledge, projector, computer, and bean bags as well as a dry sauna and toilet. The computer and projector allowed us to play music and video to build the ambience with. The second storey is the main bedroom which has a large comfortable bed set, toilet and shower, as well as a glass window that shows the full view of the first floor. The top floor has wood decking/ flooring with a swing seat as well as a jacuzzi. This room was absolutely wonderful for our party which had at least 30 guests and while management was not happy about the overflow of guests and cars, they didn't really put up much of a fight and allowed us to enjoy the evening. The hotel itself is a boutique hotel with a small lift and lobby but its two penthouse rooms are fit for an Arabic oil prince with three storeys of chic and modern interior and funky facilities.

You will hear (very loud) moaning and other sound even in the morning as well as at night. Our family had to go to another hotel (Plaza hotel which the airport buses stop right at the entrance of) after one night here, even losing our prepaid hotel rate for the following night. The staff are friendly and very helpful, when you ask them for help. And the furniture, primarily the chairs, not their bed, is very nice. However, our room came with two ash trays when the hotel knew we have a baby. The room did have slight cigarette smoke residue. It looked like every room is a smoking room as default. If you consider the taxi fare (cost us $56 + $15 toll one way) to get to this hotel to avoid pain of dragging luggage after a long flight since the airport bus stop is still 5 min walk, the hotel rates are almost the same as other 5 star hotels where airport buses stop right in front. Definitely not for my family.
