Neighboring the immense Yongsan American Garrison, Itaewon was once shunned by locals as a seedy, red light district. But within the past few years, Itaewon and its surrounding neighborhoods such as Kyunglidan and Haebangchong have undergone a major revival to quickly become one of Seoul’s hottest areas. Here, trendy international restaurants dot the area alongside hip lounge bars and some of Seoul’s hottest club venues. After dark, Itaewon comes into its own as one of Seoul’s top party scenes. The crowd is a fascinating patchwork of all backgrounds and identities, including a small but thriving Muslim community (centered on Korea’s sole mosque), the LGBT community (with a string of popular bars and clubs), and a wide range of ethnicities and cultures scattered around. Those seeking a quiet respite should head towards the eastern end, in Hannam-dong, which not only has one of Korea’s best art museums, the Leeum Samsung Museum of Art, but plenty of mid-range to upscale restaurants and cafes.

Itaewon Inn is not far away from Itaewon station and many restaurants and bars. Also not far away you can find supermarkets open 24/7 The Inn is not the newest and is much older than the pictures may tell you. The price is great also the location. The rooms get cleaned every day also the shower room and toilet. I did stay at the dorm room and from the light it was not the brightest place, but good enough The beds are rather small and all having personal power sockets. You also getting a lock and a locker for your stuff. There is also a storage are for suitecaes, you can also leave your stuff there before check-in is possible. The best part is the roof. There are some chairs and a great view above the town. You get what you pay

It was my big mistake to stay at this place. I was guided by guest reviews, but why didn’t anyone tell the truth ?! Very, VERY dirty !!! Although cleaning is done in good faith every morning. It feels like the hotel owners are saving on everything. Black mold on the walls, ragged plaster. Torn mattresses, holes on the bedding. Musty air. Dim light, faint light bulbs. Perhaps the other rooms are better, I lived in the women's bedroom. There is no toilet paper in the toilet in the afternoon. After 10 p.m., only cold water pours in the shower. Huge cockroaches in the kitchen. It's scary to touch tables and utensils, hands stick from dirt and grease. The staff is friendly, they try to help, but not everything depends on them. I put one point only for the view from the roof, a good panorama of Seoul. I do not advise anyone to stay at this place. Very depressing atmosphere.

I stayed here for one night because I was transmitting through Seoul and I chose this hotel because it was cheap and in a good area, as I was just looking for a place to put my bags down and sleep for a night. However the bed and pillow were incredibly uncomfortable, the room wasn’t very clean, and very very small and awkward. If you’re looking for the cheapest option this is, I suppose, a good one however if you’re looking for comfort of any kind, skip it

Look our stay was ok and if you going in expecting that you will be fine. Dont be fooled by the pictures on the booking sites. This place is cheap because its old slightly dirty and run down. The walls in the rooms are dirty, the lobby is messy. We stayed in a private apartment with cooking facilities. There very little cutlery, the pots and pans were well passed there used by date. The walls were dirty. The staff were great the location is excellent, the roof top is good to relax. All in all don't expect much and you will be ok

I'm staying at the private room, not the dorm. The lobby doesn't really look fantastic and maybe the dorm rooms too - not too sure about that. The private room is just fine, the private rooms look new, separated from the dorms. Everything seems fine.
