I'll say first that yes, the location is perfect: a block away from the charming Insadong area. I have stayed here 4 times over the past six years and just this last time I felt that things had gone downhill. While they have enlarged and remodeled the lobby, I found the following to be unsatisfactory: 1. Computers have been removed...

I've stayed at Sunbee hotel last March 2012. It was quite difficult to book a room, as in every booking website was "no available rooms" (I tried longtime before and even changing dates). Finally I've booked a twin room for three persons via hotelwide.com that seems to be the only website having available rooms. The hotel is very well located...

Things started poorly as I became hopeless lost trying to find the hotel - in fact it took me an embarrassing 90 minutes to find the hotel from the metro station. Usually my sense of direction is acute and I rarely lose my way, but not so on this occasion. Once you find the Hotel Sunbee, it will take a...

On our second trip to Seoul we stayed at hotel Sunbee, and I knew we had found our go-to hotel for Seoul for the foreseeable future. The hotel is ridiculously close to Insadong, yet tucked down a back alley and was pretty quiet. It's quite close to both Anguk and Jonggak stations, and an easy airport bus ride from Incheon...

This hotel has a great location. You are near tourist attractions and many great and cheap restaurant and only 2 stations away from the Seoul station. But we had the deluxe twin and the Jacuzzi was not working, the towels were dirty (even after we mentioned it, they were still dirty) and the room was not very clean. Some hairs...

This hotel has great location, large rooms, nice and clean, and helpful staff. The included breakfast was nice. Overall, the best part about this hotel is the location. There are many shops, restaurants and vendors along the main street and quite of bit of places of interest can be reached on foot or by a short subway ride. The hotel...

Room is perfect with spa bath. Even an English Foxtel channel. Spa bath. Room views not the best, but who stays in their room all day anyway? And any building on Seoul generally has views of another building anyway. Buildings as far as the eye can see. Coffee available to purchase downstairs which is ok. If u want a real...

Staying in Insadong

Neighborhood Profile
Insadong
Nestled between Jongno and Samcheongdong, this small neighborhood offers a crash course in various aspects of Korean culture. Rows of shops display traditional Korean goods such as pottery and earthenware, crafts, fans, and more, making it a popular spot for souvenir shopping. The Ssamziegil shopping complex in particular has become a local institution for its unique spiral layout and the many boutique shops inside that sell handmade crafts and goods. This is the perfect neighborhood to sample a range of Korean dishes, with vegetarian Korean temple cuisine restaurants being a popular draw, but street food carts are just as famous. As a top tourist destination, crowds can swell, particularly on weekends, but you can find some rest and respite in one of the private art galleries or grab a cup of Korean tea in a tea house – many of which are located in beautifully renovated traditional Korean homes.
