The Double room was spacious and the bed was reasonably good and firm but could feel a few springs here and there, the room its self was great but the interior needs updating as the wallpaper in my room was old looking and bulging in places. The biggest highlight of my stay in New Kukje Hotel was being told by the reception staff that they had a coin Laundry now !!! I couldn't have been more delighted as i've experienced the "Laundry" service in other hotels in seoul before and the Pricing is a JOKE ! so Massive Thank you New Kukje .. The location is great and not far from Myeongdong , i easily walked there So great hotel and great staff who spoke English well and always greeted me with a smile when i came in our left the hotel. Also big shout out to the Cleaning Lady who also greeted me with a smile every day i saw her and kept my room perfectly clean ... i hope you liked note and the Biscuits i left you ... thank you :) Pros - Staff English proficiency is Very good Convenience store in Hotel Coffee shop on ground floor Coin Laundry , Helpful Staff and Cleaning lady Good Location and Near Subway (City Hall Exit 4 ) Lots of restaurants close proximity and attractions Cons - Loud out side with Gwanghwamun Square which holds a lot of demonstrations ( but does stop before 11-12 pm ) but already knew about this before hand so not a con for me ) Overall .. good hotel i will definitely use this hotel again when i bring my family back to Korea in the near future. Thank you New Kukje

We stayed two times in the New Kukje Hotel, at the start and the end of our Korea trip. The first time we had a room that looked a bit worn out. Luckily it was clean. The second time we got a slightly more new looking room. I found the rooms in general rather basic, they could use a make-over. The shower screen did nothing to prevent the bathroom from getting wet. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They spoke English very well. Breakfast options were rather limited, but the view from the rooftop terrace more than made up for that. You could see the famous blue house from the terrace. Lovely to be able to have breakfast at such a lovely spot.

We stayed at New Kukje for two nights in a triple, left our luggage in their baggage storage for two nights while we went to Busan, and returned for three nights in a double. Through it all we were very happy to have chosen this hotel. The staff was friendly, rooms big, fast elevators, bus to the airport is right outside the door, close to the metro and within walking distance of many things a tourist is interested in. We were given one free bottle of water each per day and several packs of tea. Disappointingly, there was no coffee in the room although Seoul has a large coffee culture. There is a convenience store right off the lobby and many restaurants on the streets behind the hotel. We particularly enjoyed the double corner room that included a counter shelf and two high chairs in front of the window overlooking the main street. It was fun sitting there and watching the happenings below. If I make back to Seoul I definitely will stay at New Kukje again.

We stayed at this hotel for 6 nights. The Good: Hotel is centrally located, rooms are well maintained, staff speaks English. Burger King McDonalds Seven 11, Starbucks and many coffee shops and eateries at a 5 minute walk. The Bad: They serve the same breakfast every single day. Breakfast doesnt have boiled EGGS nor the staff is willing to accomadate. Overall a nice experience at this HOTEL.

We enjoyed our 2nd stay at this hotel. A lot of new cafes and shops have opened since we've last visited. The area near Cheonggyecheon stream is bustling in the afternoons, after the food trucks have set-up. This hotel is ideal if you want to be centrally located near subways, some tourist spots, cafes, and restaurants.
