I stumbled across this places while trying to find my way...............where? I found a temporary home here. Owners Greg and Geum Jeong are upright folks, and they know a ton of people. Thanks to both of them for a great time, Richard

I stayed about 10 nights at this hostel, and I had an amazing experience! The atmosphere is very cozy and it really feels like you're staying at someones home. Greg is very friendly from check in til check out, and I'm very happy with the help I got during my stay. That's what made this hostel unique, the personal experience.... More

To be honest, the other posters have said just about the same things I was going to say. Instead of repeating them, I'll just say that I was surprised for the incredible amount of hospitality shown by Greg when I came to stay on a Saturday night. I'm living elsewhere in Korea and finding exit #6 was a little bit... More

Many Thanks to Greg and Jen for their hospitality during our 4 day stay. Great location near subway and bars. Rooftop is stellar with great beer and atmosphere. The rooms are comfortable and clean and we had a great time with the other guests. Would stay there again in a heart beat. Thankis guys. See you again, maybe in November!!

I had a brief but very enjoyable stay. Greg was entirely warm and friendly and within minutes of arriving I was eagerly helping out with moderating an English conversation group -- one of the features of the "Under the Bridge" cafe / bar that Greg also operates. I hung out with fellow travelers and local Koreans over the two days... More

This was my first hostel/shared room experience and I'm glad it was with Bridge Backpackers. The sleeping quarters has 8 beds which leads into the living room. The beds were comfortable and clean and there is space left over for everyone's suitcases and backpacks. The living room common area is equipped with plenty of movies for a night in. While... More

I stayed at Bridge Backpackers for 4 nights. The owners Jenny and Greg were extremely friendly and helpful. The place was clean and comfortable. The beds were the most comfortable I have had in a guesthouse/hostel for a long time and I have been traveling for four years. They offer breakfast foods, tea, an coffee. They are also very willing... More

Recently opened Bridge Backpackers is a great hostel in Seoul – just between the two activity bursting districts of Hongdae and Sinchon. But it’s in a calm little street perfectly located just a short walk from Exit 6 of Hongik Univ subway station. Originally I planned to stay just for 2 days. But Greg's enormous hospitality and the great athmosphere... More

This is the most adorable, clean and friendly guesthouse I've had the pleasure to stay in. Greg and Jenny were absolutelly attentive, they run this place and treat their guests as friends rather than "customers". Their lovely home/guesthouse welcomed my sister and I for two restoring and comfortable nights. They are located in one of the most attractive zones of... More

Staying in Hongdae

Neighborhood Profile
Hongdae
Carefree enthusiasm is everywhere in this energetic neighborhood centered on Hongik University, Korea’s top art school. From its assortment of murals to the occasional amateur street performances, creativity and expression make up the wild and beating heart of vibrant Hongdae. At the Free and Hope Market (weekends at the Hongdae Children’s Playground) you'll find one of Seoul’s most popular handmade and creative markets drawing consistent crowds. At Hongdae, there’s never a shortage of things to do and see; food and drink options are nearly endless as are shops and noraebang (karaoke) rooms. Hongdae is also one of Seoul’s top party and club scenes catering to a younger demographic; if a packed club isn’t your scene, you'll also find a range of music venues and bars offering live music in all genres. Although Hongdae has lost much of its unique appeal and undergone rapid commercialization in recent years, be sure to explore Hongdae’s edges in areas such as Sangsu-dong and Yeonnam-dong where Hongdae’s fiercely independent streak still runs freely.
