Myeongdong / Namdaemun
Arguably Seoul’s most famous neighborhood and undoubtedly one of its most popular, Myeongdong takes shopping and eating to new heights, with hundreds of shops, restaurants, and cafes all stacked on top of one another. The rise in popularity of Korean cosmetics, fashion, and more has made this area a must-see for visitors who come and marvel at Myeongdong’s often frenetic pace and energy. Lotte and Shinsaegae’s massive department stores are also popular draws for both Korean and luxury products. The department stores, just like Myeongdong’s streets, are crowded around the clock. Myeongdong’s many street food carts are also immensely popular for their inexpensive and quirky offerings (French-fry-encrusted corn dogs, anyone?). The neighborhood’s popularity, as well as its close proximity to other popular sights and neighborhoods, makes it one of Seoul’s most popular places to stay.

Great draw for this hotel is its location. City Hall metro is a mere 5 minute walk away, with numerous dining options and a convenience store near the hotel. Coffee places abound nearby. (Namdaemun Coffee makes a great cuppa.) The rooms are near perfect for couples, but not recommended for families as the frosted glass bathroom doors afford little privacy. The bathroom lighting is great for makeup aficionados though. The size of the smaller rooms may be an issue for extensive shoppers on holiday but it's a nonissue if you manage your purchases. Towards the end of our stay we did see slip-ups on supply of some amenities (toilet paper, fresh bath towels) but the staff remedied these relatively quickly upon request. We were there for a good 7 days, and it was a comfortable stay overall!

Centrally located. Large room size for Korea. Staff was excellent and the spa was spectacular. Got a massage and it was worth it. Price per night was under $100. There are a dozen coffee shops and places to eat within a 1-5 minute walk. Loved this place, will stay again next trip to Seoul

Friendly and helpful welcome. The hotel is located in a quiet road and at the same time very close to the City Hall Metro station and many restaurants. Room is clean and good size, bed is comfortable with good duvet and AC/heating works well. Breakfast includes fruit, salad, omelet, sausages etc.

The hotel's location is consider quite strategic in a way we are able to find convenient store like 7-Eleven and various eateries surround the hotel. The staffs at the reception and the cafe are friendly and are able to meet our needs.

Convenient and fairly near City Hall metro station. Super easy to head to the Myeongdong Fashion street or Lotte mall. Breakfast was nice but it was the same every morning. 7-E was just outside the hotel. Do not use the cab by the hotel to the airport as it is very expensive. KRW65000, not inclusive of toll of KRW7000. Take the airport bus instead for KRW16000.
