I rate this hotel with such low score as it is a huge disappointment and must be a wake up call for management/owners. I visited for my first time this hotel in 2013 (just shinshin.. no floral..): it was classy, modern and excellent. I stayed now twice (end of november 2019 for 3 nights and december room#702 from 8th to.23rd) and I was literally under shock. Where is the nice shin shin hotel gone?? First problem: lack of maintenance. The hotel rooms are not kept well. Second problem: housekeeping.. especially during our 2 weeks stay, it was a constant "fight" with housekeeping... the room floor was dirty, they don't wash your mugs and they only "tidy up" your room... but not cleaning!! Windows full of dust... my pillow had a "head-scent" for being old and used... we pointed out to reception staff this problem but nothing was made.. we gave up! And then, reception staff are sharp. There is member of reception who says he speaks English and he can't follow a basic conversation..you see that complacency from ownership and management is the base of the problem. Their website is not working (from.september 2019)... this hotel could make tons of money if well kept, entretained, and for its location.. it could be perfectly an IHG Indigo Hotel if renewed... the saddest thing of the hotel is the lobby: this space is magnifecent but left to its own fate... there is an unsued bar counter, why??? Shame on the management!

The room is pretty small for 3 person but room is clean. The hotel is relatively near the subway CityHall, about 10mins walk. Check-in and out is rather smooth. We arrived the hotel pretty late at night, the reception checked us in within 5mins and showed us the way to our room which is located at the next block..

If you're looking for a budget option in the Myeongdong area but want to avoid hostels and apartment rentals, the Shin Shin is a good choice. Pros: - close to metro station - close to convenience stores - clean, modern rooms - quiet, safe area Cons: - the area is pretty much stairs everywhere, no escalators or elevators to underground shopping centre or metro. Beware if mobility is an issue - the hotel is not in the middle of anything exciting if you don't want to venture far

We got in late our first night. So, come morning, on the Chuseok holiday, we were thankful that the on-site cafe, DineHall, offered a good breakfast. We had a room with a king bed; it had a lot of space, area to spread out and put clothes away, etc. The bed was very comfortable. The room was super clean. The staffmembers - like Shirley and Fred - were great, multi-lingual and very helpful. The location of the property could not be better. There's even a great convenience store just a few steps away that's open 24 hours a day. All in all, a very good stay
