-100000 This is my one of the most terrifying experiences ever , i never ever saw a bad hotel as this hotel , i swear to god , am writing while am setting in dark with no electricity and no air conditioning at all , since we arrived we got to know that there will be no AC for the 5 days starting from the day we arrived, we had no choice to change the hotel as we booked this hotel in advance to avoid the high rates as we were on budget , imagine staying in a hotel which you payed for it and no AC provided, we had to open the windows while sleeping and still it was soo hot , and a broken toilet and a dusty rooms with died bugs , after we fought for it , they changed the room for us , an guess whaaaat !!!!! We woke up finding a notice under the door saying that there will be no electricity for the next two days starting from 11 PM to 3 AM , we had to come back to the hotel as nothing here is open after 10 specially for as us muslims , only bars , while coming back i got stuck in the elevator which been guided by the maintenance guy to use rather than the main , i got stuck in the elevator and i was terrified , once i got out i used the stairs while carrying a dozen of water of course because they dont provide it and had to go all the way to 20th floor , on floor 16th i saw the engineering guys and they were laughing and saying that oh you are having water and they asked me to use the same eleven which i got stuck in , they didn’t even tried to help even though that they saw me hardly breathing as am an asthmatic, please don’t waste you money here , they don’t care about any service or customer experience, trust my words there is nothing positive about this place !!!!!

I checked in here for the start of a 10 day stay. This is supposed to be four star. I have stayed in many Asian countries and this does not rate as 4 star. I had requested a high floor months before arrival. The room type I was staying in was in levels 3 to 15 and came with City Views. I was given level 5 which looked directly towards an office building with no view at all. On arrival there were signs saying for the next few days there would be no heating or cooling. What the hotel does not tell you before arrival is they only ever provide heating or cooling, not both. The day I arrived had been a hot day and the room was stinking hot. The only way to cool it was by opening the windows. This then allowed road noise all  night. The streets here are cleaned at night every night. I paid to have breakfast included. This was a mistake. The buffet had eggs. One type. There was only plain rice or toast to go with it. There was plain yoghurt, halved bananas and cucumber and a few cereals. For a four star hotel paid breakfast this is beyond disappointing. The staff at the hotel are lovely people but can only do so much. What I have never seen at any hotel ever were the messages about what they do not do. There were notes everywhere saying, we do not provide umbrellas, we only help you book taxis to the airport, we do not provide free toothpaste or toothbrush and we do not provide free bottled water.  The most disgusting thing so far has been the complimentary slippers. They are not new slippers. They are pre worn slippers to be used during your stay. 10il sugbag-eul sijaghagi wihae igos-e chekeu-inhaessseubnida. igeon byeol 4gae jeongdo doel geos gat-ayo. naneun manh-eun asia gugga-e meomulleossneunde igeos-eun 4seong-geub-eulo pyeong-gadoeji anhseubnida. naneun dochaghagi myeoch dal jeon-e nop-eun cheung-eul yocheonghaessseubnida. jega mug-eossdeon gaegsil yuhyeong-eun 3~15cheung-ieossgo dosi jeonmang-i jegongdoeeossseubnida. naneun jeonhyeo bol su eobsneun samusil geonmul-eul jigjeob balaboneun lebel 5leul bad-assseubnida. dochaghajamaja ap-eulo myeochil dong-an nanbang-ina naengbang-i jungdandoel geos-ilaneun pyojipan-i iss-eossseubnida. hotel-i dochaghagi jeon-e allyeojuji anhneun geos-eun naengnanbangman jegonghago dul da jegonghajineun anhneundaneun geos-ibnida. naega dochaghan nal-eun deowossgo bang-eun deowoseo naemsaega nassda. deowileul sighil su issneun yuilhan bangbeob-eun changmun-eul yeoneun geosppun-ieossseubnida. geuleomyeon bamsaedolog dolo so-eum-i balsaenghaessseubnida. igos-ui geolineun maeil bam bammada cheongsodoebnida. naneun achim sigsaleul pohamhagi wihae don-eul jibulhaessseubnida. igeos-eun silsuyeossseubnida. bwipeeneun gyelan-i iss-eoss-eoyo. han gaji yuhyeong-ibnida. geogien geunyang bab-ina toseuteubakk-e eobs-eoss-eoyo. peullein yoguleuteu, ban-eulo jaleun bananawa oi, geuligo yaggan-ui silieol-i iss-eossseubnida. 4seong-geub hotel-ui yulyo achim sigsaloneun silmangseuleoun sujun-i anibnida. hotel jig-won-eun salangseuleoun salamdeul-ijiman hal su issneun il-i neomu manhseubnida. naega eoneu hotel-eseodo bon jeog-i eobsneun geos-eun geudeul-i haji anhneun il-e daehan mesijiyeossseubnida. ulineun usan-eul jegonghaji anh-eumyeo gonghangkkaji taegsi yeyag-eul dowajul ppun-imyeo mulyo chiyag-ina chis-sol-eul jegonghaji anh-eumyeo mulyo saengsuleul jegonghaji anhneundaneun memoga docheoe iss-eossseubnida. jigeumkkaji gajang yeoggyeoun geos-eun mulyo seullipeoyeossseubnida. sae seullipeoga anibnida. meomuneun dong-an sayonghal mili chag-yonghan seullipeoibnida.

The location for this hotel is perfect, in the middle of the Insadong area. A short walk from the metro station and a longer, but manageable, walking distance to the railway station. The hotel hasn't been refurbished for some years, but was clean and I felt the hotel still appeared i an inviting manner to the guests. Each appartment has a kitchen with necessary fasilities and when you get a bit up in the floors you have a nice view. The swimming pool gave us a lot of joy, dispete that fasilities were not 100 % up to date. The hotel offers breakfast, but we didn't include that and don't know if it is any good. The biggest disadvantage with this hotel was the ventilation system. We were told that the hotel has to decide if they should turn on heating or cooling. So not much of balance. Since it was winter time the heating was on, and it was not possible to get the temperature below 24 degrees. After the first night we learned from the reception that it was best to shut the system down completely. In combination of opening some windows this helped, even though it was still hot, especially in the room without a window.

Positives: - Good location. Close to subways, buses, other areas like Ikseondong, Myendong etc etc - Lots of cafes and restaurants around. - Good size apartment style accomodation. We stayed in the three bedroom apartment. Very spacious and heaps of storage (too much actually). - Clean and neat. There’s housekeeping on weekdays. - Extremely cost effective and good value for money (about $320 Aussie dollars per night for a three bedroom apartment including breakfast). - Good front desk staff and efficient when asked about extra pillows, towels etc. - There is a small 7-11 across the road with an ATM. - There is a Coffee bean and tea leaf on site. Negatives: In the apartment: - not enough plates / cutlery etc, - Worlds hardest sofa and dining room chairs, - Worst washing machine I’ve ever come across. It’s a washer / dryer combo and the clothes are never dried! It takes over three hours and the clothes come out damp and still have to be hung to dry. Waste of water and electricity. - There was an issue with our safe which staff said they would fix but they never came back to do it. Breakfast: - The most basic bland breakfast. Very little variety. Was actually a disappointment. - After finishing we had to clear our own plates (as though we are in a food court 👎🏼). There were so many staff around.. they should be clearing the tables not us as the guests! - They didn’t have any take away containers for us to eat in our apartment or even take a coffee away. If you stay here I would avoid adding the breakfast option.

We started our recent month-long trip to South Korea with a week at Orakai, not knowing much of the aparhotel and the area, and it turned out to be a lovely find! The one-bedroom suite was spacious, allowing us our own me- time when we wanted it. Washer-dryer and kichenette were good. Staff were efficient. Building was in a quiet spot in Insadong, though just minutes away on foot from the eateries and the pedestrian street. We liked the understated vibes and comfort so much that we stayed another five days at the end of our trip. We were assigned the same room on the 15th floor for both stays, much to our delight.

Large, clean spacious apartment. We are staying in a two bedroom with our daughter. The apartment has all you need to enjoy your stay. The gym is very well equipped, and the pool, whilst a little cold is a good place for a swim. The apartments are in a great location, two subway stops close by, not far from attractions and loads of places to eat. We were very grateful for an early checkin after a long trip to Seoul, and the receptionist who checked us in was very friendly. Would thoroughly recommend staying here.

This place was in a great location, was spacious and reasonably priced. Additionally, it had a really nice gym which we had access to. We were traveling with our two kids (14 and 13) and each child had their own bedroom. Additionally, the place had a refrigerator which allowed us to buy plenty of snacks and drinks. The place was not fancy, but it was certainly clean and adequately equipped. The service was terrific, but not all that friendly. For example, they had signs posted indicating they would not assist with taxis, airport transportation and you couldn't have drinks in the lobby. But if you don't need any assistance from the hotel, this is a terrific option.

Checked in after staying at Somerset Palace for a week. Location is great as Insadong is conveniently situated to explore many popular destinations in Seoul. Hotel facility is sub par. Taped up carpets in the lobby due yo elevator repair, things just look tired overall. They must have used a special angle to photograph the bathroom because it actually is tiny and cramped. Went down to the spa area and I felt I was back in the 70’s. No hot water in the hot bath and only dry sauna. No decent shampoo or lotion that other hotels supply in the bath/spa in Seoul. The shower stalls look so old and not so clean to a point creepy. I could jot wait to get out. No free water bottles, laundry soap etc. they supply nothing. I am staying in a two bedroom unit and it is spacious. Other than that it is depressing looking everywhere. Signage for what people should not do or what they would not do for the guests. They don’t call a taxi for you, don’t do this or that. Somerset Palace was so much more well run and clean. Their staff was top notch and breakfast was lovely and the facility was in great condition while not new. Go to Somerset.

We stayed a week in a suite in June. The suite was spacious but functional rather than glamorous, which suited us fine. Amenities in the room were really basic and no real bath products other than a couple of miniatures. We also didn’t feel the cleaners did a very good job making up the room, and they really did the bare minimum of quick wipe downs, bed making and emptying bins. But nothing else such as tidying our stuff or any nice touches that you might expect from housekeeping in a 4 (?) star property. The lobby is really strange as it’s pretty shabby with carpet stuck down with yellow gaffer tape. Really weird to not bother making an effort at the entrance and not fitting a proper carpet. Then there are notices about all the things the hotel won’t do, they won’t order a taxi, they won’t make up rooms on weekends or holidays, the shopping shuttle bus doesn’t run anymore. Seemed a bit off putting to tell guests all the things they don’t or won’t do, and kind of felt it might have been a better place years ago. It also gave more of a vibe of a b&b rather than an upmarket hotel. We had breakfast on one occasion and although the coffee was really decent, the food was really poor. Does anyone want fried chicken for breakfast? Overall if you get a great room rate this is ok, but there are surely better options out there.
