We stayed at the hotel from Jan 24-28. It was during that time, that a terrible accident happened...there was a “FIRE”!!! It happened around 5 am when everybody’s asleep...whatever positive experience we had prior to the event...it was overshadowed by the stress caused by the tragedy. I would like to highlight the seriousness of the SAFETY ISSUES LACKING FROM A FIVE STAR HOTEL!!! To name a few: 1. THERE WAS NO FIRE ALARM 2. A single phone call was made to our room. 3. No fire sprinkler. 4. Total Lack of communication/updates from the staff with guests who made it to safe place. And rescue staff are all talking in their native language ONLY. Foreigners were definitely left clueless and alienated... 5. The staff were all standing and watching like a bystanders when the event was happening. 6. No safety protocol on hand DURING and AFTER a EMERGENCY SITUATION like this. I could go on forever...The amount of physical and emotional stress we had..was unimaginable! The experience was really a total letdown!…
This result is for the replacement which is Gangnam Novotel, caused the fire accidents in Grand Ambassador Seoul.
EXCEPTIONAL ! Great location (near Dongguk Univ. Subway station) although there's a hilly road between, it's quite troublesome if you're bringing many luggages with you. But other than that, great spacious and very clean room with fast free wifi. Also, free shuttle bus hourly to Myeongdong, Insadong, and Dongdaemun is a dealbreaker for us. Greatjob !
Great location with excellent verity of food options, clean with premium room facilities for relaxing stay, easy to access to lol major attractions and markets at your free time. Happy to return any time.
We stayed at the Grand Hotel Ambassador for 15 days and absolutely loved it. The room was very spacious, super clean and refurbished with all we needed. A plus was the minifridge, the Nespresso machine and the complimentary bottles of water (replaced every day). We did not buy the breakfast in advance but ended up eating at the hotel’s magnificent breakfast buffé almost every morning as it offered a wide range of delicious dishes (Western, Chinese, Japanese and Korean) with plenty of choices, even for our daughter who is vegan. My husband visited the gym a couple of times and was fully satisfied. Another service that we really appreciated was the complimentary shuttle service (running every hour) offered by the hotel to all guests to go to Seoul’s city centre. The best thing was however the staff, always extremely kind, helpful and professional. They all spoke English. We would in particular like to thank June Ahn who helped us navigate Seoul (a huge city) with his precious advice and his friendly manners. He truly made us feel at home. We will certainly stay at this hotel again when returning to Seoul! …
