After a long search for a hotel in Seoul, we picked this one because of the mostly positive reviews on TA. We found a good deal for seven nights on Agoda for a superior double room with breakfast ($780). The hotel is located in an alley just behind Teheran-ro, about 200m from the Renaissance Hotel bus stop (bus 6703 from... More

We stayed at the Nox Hotel for 5 days in May 2012. The hotel is easy to find as we take the airport shuttle with the directions emailed to us by the manager. The hotel is walking distance to the subway and around the hotel you can find 24hrs convenience stores, cafe, street-side stall (at night) and resturants including 24hrs... More

I stayed here for one night. The room is quite small and dark, but very clean. It is also technologically advanced, with two desktop computers and a very large Samsung LCD with an amazing sound system. There are many restaurants surrounding the hotel. I would like to highlight here that the service is extremely good. The manager actually took us... More

This hotel is ideal for business travellers as it is located in the centre of the business district, which means a long way from the city. The rooms are tiny, very clean and equipped with computers. It was hard to find space for 2 suitcases. Mattresses are extremely hard. The staff is friendly, however their knowledge of the english language... More

Stayed from 4 nights 2 May-6May. My choice of hotel near Myeondong has no room during these days, so decided to pick Nox since the rate within my budget and with positive feedback from fellow T.A. member. Hotel is well maintain, we were first given room 701, the door would not open, TV don’t work properly, room were a light... More

The Nox is on a small side street surrounded by many other small hotels and in an area full of bars and small restaurants, near some of the business area main streets. According to my local source, these hotels are often used by "illegitimate partners" for "short time stay". This is supported by the facts that there is very little... More

Great points: free wifi, free breakfast, very big TV connected to the computer, free movies Hotel is accessible, around 2 blocks from Yeoksam station (a few minutes walk), and a block from Renaissance Hotel where the Kallimousine Airport Bus 6703 has a stop. You can ride this to/fro Incheon Airport. Hotel is not on the main road itself though, it's... More

A hotel that uses the high tech and design aspect as a selling point. However, all this technology is confusing to operate. Lights, airco, TV, computer... Nice, but not handy for the average person. During our stay, we were on the 11th floor and a group of (young) people booked a room on the 12th for a party. Incredibly noisy,... More

Staying in Gangnam / Nonhyeon / Yeoksam

Neighborhood Profile
Gangnam / Nonhyeon / Yeoksam
If you thought business and fun couldn’t mix, look no further than urban Gangnam and the nearby neighborhoods. On the surface, Gangnam comes off as a strictly business district with a plethora of high-rise office buildings jutting into the sky and the steady streams of office workers bustling about. But interlaced within are a string of shops, restaurants, bars, and other spots for entertainment. If Myeongdong is the generic meet-up and hangout spot north of the Han River, Gangnam is its answer for those on the south side. As evening comes, Gangnam comes alive with its countless neon lights attracting hordes of office workers, friends, and couples for food, drinks, perhaps a bit of singing at a noraebang, and more drinks. And the smattering of clubs around also draws plenty of folks looking to unwind and show off their moves on the dance floor. On weekends, the crowds gets bigger, the energy buzzes to a seemingly nonstop high, and Gangnam makes it clear why so many call Seoul the city that never sleeps.
