area has lots of restaurants. alley entrance though. this is normal for seoul, although not in the usa. this area seems safe. quite a few females walking alone in these alleys and side streets with no fear or nervousness. Ok, if they are not afaid, then, neither am i! but it's always best to be safe. room has 40" lcd...

I spent one comfortable night in this hotel. I loved how Korean it was. Upon entering the room, there are slippers in keeping with the custom of not wearing shoes inside. There is a Korean toilet which is always interesting for the Westerner. The room is small with one small window but was not lacking in any of the basic...

The hotel is located around the business district of Seoul. There is not much attractions around the area therefore you would need to take the subway to any attractions area. The nearest subway from the Hotel is Yeoksam station. There is a Airport Limousine outside of Hotel Renaissance. You would need to buy the tickets from the hotel lobby. The Airport...

I needed a reasonably priced hotel in this general area for a night. Most were booked so I booked this one, then I read the review about it being a den of prostitution and in a poor location and thought maybe I should forgo my pre-payment and book somewhere else. But I didn't, And I'm glad I didn't. This is...

Um, so there were prostitutes everywhere in this hotel, but at least they were changing the sheets nice and regularly. Free internet and some free movies, but the trade off was there were douches for ladies lady parts, free condoms ointments and oils all included. We were able to take the sleazy businessmen wandering the halls with girls half their...

Staying in Gangnam / Nonhyeon / Yeoksam

Neighborhood Profile
Gangnam / Nonhyeon / Yeoksam
If you thought business and fun couldn’t mix, look no further than urban Gangnam and the nearby neighborhoods. On the surface, Gangnam comes off as a strictly business district with a plethora of high-rise office buildings jutting into the sky and the steady streams of office workers bustling about. But interlaced within are a string of shops, restaurants, bars, and other spots for entertainment. If Myeongdong is the generic meet-up and hangout spot north of the Han River, Gangnam is its answer for those on the south side. As evening comes, Gangnam comes alive with its countless neon lights attracting hordes of office workers, friends, and couples for food, drinks, perhaps a bit of singing at a noraebang, and more drinks. And the smattering of clubs around also draws plenty of folks looking to unwind and show off their moves on the dance floor. On weekends, the crowds gets bigger, the energy buzzes to a seemingly nonstop high, and Gangnam makes it clear why so many call Seoul the city that never sleeps.
