The front desk ended up cancelling my reservation after I called to check on the cancellation policy. They did not confirm the cancellation by email or by phone. They had another room available, thank god, or we would have been screwed. After I expressed my frustration that they would cancel the reservation without confirming, the desk clerk began to argue... I tried to cancel my reservation at this hostel as I had food poisoning and can't go, yet the manager still charged me for the night, lied about having sent me emails, and was horribly rude in the process. I wouldnt stay here based on that experience alone.

My friend and I stayed here in June 2014 after she had stayed there previously. I can't decide to give this place a 3 or a 4... It was my first hostel experience and after hearing horror stories from others, I was pleasantly surprised that I had such a pleasant stay here. Accommodations: We stayed in a double room that... Staff is very Friendly. Always willing to help. Beds very comfortable. Rooms have more than one (single) bed and have lockers where you could lock away your valuables during the day/night. Showers, bathroom, toilets always neat and clean. They also have a kitchen where you can help yourself to what is there. This is definitely also a nice place to... More

This hostel was perfect for me. I spent around 10 days here in total and it was the ideal mix of chilled and social. It is a very small and personal hostel so you get to know the guests really well. I got to know so many people and that ended up changing the course of my stay! It's a... More

Don't expect too much. It's a cheap hostel with a good location. Room was small and extremely stuffy with no air-circulation or window. Had to walk through a communal bedroom to get to our "private" room. This place would be unbearably in the heat of summer. I was breaking a sweat falling asleep on a mild May night. Comfort here... I liked this hostel. The location was right in the middle of Itaewon and just a 5 minute walk from the next metro station. The price was affordable, staff was super friendly and helpful, it was clean and breakfast was included, which was good. It was just toast with jam as well as Korean tea and coffee, but it was... We loved our stay here. Clean and affordable. Room was small but beds were comfortable. Clean bathroom with hot water. Only complaint is thin walls and some other guest were annoyingly loud at 4 am, but that's always a risk at a hostel. We can't say enough good things about the staff. All were very friendly and helpful!( especially Bruce)

I came here during the early months of 2014, and I gotta say, I think it's a cosy hostel! The staff are friendly, helpful, and the accommodation's clean too! I like the wooden floor of the bathroom too, and it ensures nobody will slip. Additionally, every room is named after a major city from around the world, reflecting the international... More

This hostel is very conveniently located in Itaewon, one of the foreigner areas in Seoul. It's about a 10 minute walk from the Itaewon subway exit and there is an airport pick up pretty close to the front of the building. The rooms are pretty tight (I've stayed in the mixed and ladies dorm), but it's a bed to sleep... More

Staying in Itaewon

Neighborhood Profile
Itaewon
Neighboring the immense Yongsan American Garrison, Itaewon was once shunned by locals as a seedy, red light district. But within the past few years, Itaewon and its surrounding neighborhoods such as Kyunglidan and Haebangchong have undergone a major revival to quickly become one of Seoul’s hottest areas. Here, trendy international restaurants dot the area alongside hip lounge bars and some of Seoul’s hottest club venues. After dark, Itaewon comes into its own as one of Seoul’s top party scenes. The crowd is a fascinating patchwork of all backgrounds and identities, including a small but thriving Muslim community (centered on Korea’s sole mosque), the LGBT community (with a string of popular bars and clubs), and a wide range of ethnicities and cultures scattered around. Those seeking a quiet respite should head towards the eastern end, in Hannam-dong, which not only has one of Korea’s best art museums, the Leeum Samsung Museum of Art, but plenty of mid-range to upscale restaurants and cafes.
