The hotel staff ripped a hole in my bag and did nothing to rectify it. I had to ask for tape to try to mend the hole. They just closed the boot of the taxi in a hurry. I’m concerned that my items will be damaged or lost in travel due to this and they did not step up to make good the situation. Totally unacceptable.

Our daughter and I stayed at Andaz for 10 days in January. Because we were impressed with the great service last time, I came back to Andaz recently, this time, with my mom. Sure enough, the service was excellent. Special thanks to Mr. Andrew Bae, guest experience manager and Mr. Henry Yun, who made our stay even more special!

Granted the service staff are friendly and helpful, that’s unfortunately where the positives end for this Andaz. Note that there is currently a heatwave going on in Seoul so coming back to a room that is cool and relaxing is a simple expectation. The first room that I was assigned had air conditioner issues that kept the room at a warm 25.5-degrees all day and night - even the welcome cake that the staff had kindly left in the room was stale due to the warm temperature of the room. Though their engineers had checked the aircon, the room stayed warm and I woke up in the wee hours of the morning drenched in perspiration. Following a change of room the next morning (I was moved just four doors away from my original room) I was now designated to a much smaller room, but thankfully the aircon worked slightly better….it was able to cool the room to 23-degrees. Not great considering the aircon was set to 20-degrees, but I was too tired to pack and unpack again. Still, it would have been cooler if I had cranked open the window at night, but that’s not the point. On my 4th morning, I woke up to a large puddle of water under the aircon vent that had pooled overnight soaked through my nylon suitcase that was on the ground!!! So now, I have a suitcase that is soaked in water and no one from the hotel knows what happened to cause the puddle of water or how to solve it. I’ve just been told to alert them if another puddle forms. This is ridiculous! Having stayed in multiple Hyatt products, this is not what I expected when I booked a stay at the Andaz Gangnam to celebrate my birthday. In fact, the room(s) at the Andaz Gangnam have been the the most troubling parts of my trip, and I still have one more night here to go! In terms of service recovery, there has been none. I’d been planning to stay here with friends in a few months, but I’m definitely rethinking that plan now. Very disappointed. …

One of the best hotels I've stayed in. We tried 3 hotels in Seoul and this is our no.1 choice. The hotel's interior is super chic and huge space. Everything you need is there and more. Truly a luxury 5 star hotel. Every staff was friendly and helpful. The amenities are superb. The location is perfect and the subway station is literally beside it. It is a bit pricey compared to other 5 star hotel, but it's worth it. I wish the king size bed would have been larger though, but over all its amazing hotel. We'll definitely come back.

I loved the large spacious room and the well designed bathroom. There was even a little area with plugs and seat for doing makeup and blow drying hair. Separate bath and shower is always a huge plus. The room was quiet and the beds were very comfortable. I thought the check-in and front desk staff were very nice and it was easy to find people who spoke English. As always at Andaz the mini fridge beverages are complimentary, and after a long day it is nice to come back and not worry about being charged or keeping track of what you drink. The breakfast buffet was large and lots of choices. We had a lot of reservation requests for meals, because we found it difficult to book on line in Korea. The concierge staff was extremely prompt in replying to all our requests prior to our visit. We were only there three nights, and the only thing I wish is we were more aware of all the shops and restaurants that were directly connected to the hotel downstairs. We had a busy schedule planned, and it was the last day before I realized how many things were right at the hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel and plan to stay there again next time I go to Seoul. I thought the price was very good for the quality of the hotel and the location as well. …

Had an excellent experience at the Hyatt Andaz in Seoul Gangnam. The indoor pool created a resort type feeling right out of Las Vegas. The free snacks and beverages provided every night was a super bonus. The room layout, style, and cleanliness was very noticeable. The convenient location connected to a subway station at the lower floor and connected underground to Korea's premier department store The Hyundai was perfect. Our stay in Seoul Gangnam could not have been better due to the stay at the Hyatt Andaz. I heard it is a highly sought after experience by the locals as well, as a brief get-away where they can gather and get pampered.

5 star hotel which doesn’t provide taxi service. When I asked no one cared if I was in a hurry whether I was not able to get taxi or not. Was left standing there not knowing what to do for good 20 mins when I was in extreme rush. Guests are not local there. Calling taxi for them is an essential service. Exceptionally excellent hospitality service from the hotel. Room and decoration are modern and vibrant. I was impressed of the enthusiasm and professional service by Front Office Team. Especially Mr James Hong, Arthur, Andrew Bae as well as Ms. Min Kim. They all made me feel like coming to my home in Seoul. Definitely there will be upcoming stay with Andaz Seoul Gangnam Hotel. Mixed thoughts on this hotel. The hotel itself was 3.5 stars on it's own merits; however, I felt like the hotel didn't live up to the higher expectations of the Andaz brand moniker. The hotel felt more like a W hotel. The hotel abuts a major roadway which I was concerned would be noisy at night. But on higher floors, I didn't hear much traffic noise so the window insulation seems to be pretty good though if you are a light sleeper, I would definitely request a higher floor. Pluses: -Great location for subway access (the hotel sits atop the Apgujeong Station). -Plenty of food options nearby -Has swimming pool and fitness center -The Incheon airport bus stops about 5 minutes walk from the hotel Minuses: -The rooms seemed a little rundown: scuff marks on the walls and furniture, towels were not fluffy, etc. -The breakfast buffet looked great, but a lot of the food is not heated properly and was either lukewarm or downright cold. I would skip breakfast unless it's included with your room. -The swimming pool, sauna, and soak pools are great. However, hotel guests receive no access to the locker room without paying an additional fee. Hotel guests can just go up to their room to wash or rinse, but this seems paltry for a high end hotel. -For those that like their rooms pitch black at night, it's a bit annoying that it's impossible to turn off a lot of the various light sources in the room (air filter constantly has a bright screen, HVAC unit screen, smart tablet near the bedside, etc. Of all the Hyatt's in Seoul, I believe this is the most convenient location and would consider staying here again. Though I would definitely consider the Grand Hyatt as an alternative. …
