Good place to stay when you're in Seoul on business. The amenities can make you feel at home (i.e. washer/dryer, full kitchen, etc.). And you'll have a lot of storage space (my room had a loft for all my bags). You can explore the area for great eats, too.

First of all I want to remind you that there is in fact two hotels in Gangnam called Artnouveau. The one I'm reviewing is in Yeoksam, which is in walking distance (about 12 minutes from the nearest underground station (Seolleung station exit 5 and walk straight up) which is on the green line and easy to get to from the Airport although...

Excellent location in a busy intersection. Easily accessible to the MTR/Underground and various other public transportation. My room has a kitchen with eating/cooking utensils. Whatever you need you can find in the room. Service level is above average, nothing to shout about. For the price I pay, I would reckon it was a good deal.

Your Crystal suite: if you booked a ‘twin room’ you will end up with a double bed in the ‘bedroom’ part of this suite and a single bed in the ‘living room’ part of the suite. That single bed will take up almost all of the living room. We changed from a twin room to a double room for this...

Lots of positives about this hotel: 1. Located between two different metro stations, about 6 minutes apart. 2. Lots of convenient restaurants and bars 3. The addition of a kitchen in the room was a really nice touch 4. Facilities were well maintained, clean and very up to date 5. I did not try the breakfast but it was available...

I returned to this hotel after about 4 years. My main reasons for returning were the location, which was handy for work, and the great buffet dinner in the hotel restaurant. While the location was still handy, the restaurant has now closed, and so it was less convenient for a business traveller. There are excellent restaurants nearby, although it is...

The art nouveau interior gives the place a certain class but there's really nothing outstanding about the place, except that there was a clothes washer/dryer in the room, a small kitchenette, and a very low mezzanine floor (not sure why, though). It's about a 20 minute walk from the Coex convention centre, which is why we chose it, so a...

This "hotel" is staffed and trained to provide no service to its guests. I've stayed here many times but it has been declining for a couple years and now it is at rock bottom. I had to send a package so I asked for a call to the local "quick service" and the front desk staff said it wasn't her...

At first, I had a crystal suite, which when I saw first, I was shocked. The shock came from the size and décor of the suite. Pathetic, I must say! But the story didn't end there. The room was very tight and honestly very weird. I then upgraded to the next category which was a little more spacious. However, the...

Conveniently located in Gangnam area. Clean rooms with wifi. Attentive staff and convenience store located in lobby of hotel. Rooms are a bit small for western standards but adequate for me. Cute upstairs landing area for storage or an extra place to sleep for a friend.

Staying in Samseongdong / COEX

Neighborhood Profile
Samseongdong / COEX
A large business hub, Samseongdong is anchored by Korea’s World Trade Center, where many important business exhibitions and meetings are held. The enormous COEX mall sprawls underground, providing a myriad of things to do and see, including a large aquarium and movie theater. For a bit of peace and zen, head over to the ornate Bongeunsa Temple which is one of Korea’s most important places of worship. Or take a stroll nearby through the tranquil royal burial grounds of Seonjeongneung, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
